Only skimmed this thread but anything about Watts' dive? If Dawes got two weeks for acting Watts wouldn't be playing another game this year.

That's what I was thinking, quite possible. I hope they find a spot for Todd and utilize his skills (he killed the last draft period) as he would be a big loss to the club.

He's a better player than Morris, actually has some skill.

I've been thinking about getting his number too, though don't expect him to be wearing 46 next season. He rocketed through SANFL ranks after being a so/so player earlier in his career so who knows. He gets better each week though so hopefully the sky is the limit! Viney (if responsible for getting him) has a good eye.

I have to commend you for starting a POSITIVE thread about a new recruit, it doesn't happen often. You're spot on with your assessment I think and he'll be a very good player soon enough.

This seems to be ritual for every new draftee OD! My two cents, like a few here I don't think Strauss will make the grade. Too many injuries and just hasn't made any kind of impact. He really struggles to find the footy and with only good disposal on his side, doesn't have a lot to offer. Tapscott can get there with the right support and coaching I reckon. He seems a real confidence player. Taggert will be a good player, just developing slowly. This isn't necessarily a bad thing as he seems to be doing well at Casey and this should ensure that he comes into the senior side full of confidence when he is really ready.

Absolutely. Someone mentioned in the gameday thread that if Watts was Riewoldt he would have had a ton of frees... too true. Riewoldt was appealing like it was a game of cricket, ridiculous.

Watts game was a definite positive, in particular a noticeable change in the absence of Neeld is interesting. Craig seems to realize that he is a lead up forward. He laid a few bumps and tried to throw his body around a bit as well but that dive was atrocious! Wouldn't be surprised if he got cited by the MRP for that.

He's not the best player at the club, that's Nathan Jones or Mitch Clark. He is our best defender at the moment though and is having a great season so hats off to him.

In: Gawn, Frawley, Magner Out: Spencer, Dunn, Byrnes If Magner doesn't come in, Terls should at least get a go in the midfield. Taggert also a chance depending on the game tomorrow.

I would have called that being out of position but maybe I just wanna be optimistic. I just think it's premature to be calling him soft at this moment in time.

Why is it that Melbourne supporters expect every new recruit to come in and throw his body around, and then if he hasn't done it by 5 games he is branded soft? I've seen some good stuff from Toump, he doesn't shirk contests even though he might not go in like Jack Viney.
