  1. Yeah pretty ominous, imagine if Neeld had have stayed on. For the bit of good Neeld might have done for the club, he clearly did a lot of damage. It'll be interesting to see what else comes to light about his stint in the near future.
  2. I definitely agree with all of this except for Jones not being a clearance mid. I believe he is, though shouldn't be our go to man to clear the ball from stoppages. He is ranked 15th in the league for clearances which is pretty good. The list is linked below and he is in pretty good company. Looking at that list, a couple of realistic targets for us might be Scott Selwood, Matthew Boyd and Ryan Griffen. I would be ecstatic if we threw the cheque book at Griffen, he'd be a supreme addition to the midfield. http://www.afl.com.au/stats
  3. Clisby has been really good. Apart from a few brain fades, which you'd expect from a first year player, he has taken the game on, provided some good run and most importantly good disposal out of the back half. Hopefully he keeps this form up.
  4. I definitely think he attacks the contest, probably not all of them but a fair chunk. I noted one where he was on the lead and it was kicked out in front of him and he was sandwiched mid air by two Swans players that he could see coming. The fact that he went up and threw his body in to it really speaks volumes about Watts' steps forward this season. Instead of jogging around as well his intensity has been good, sprints into the contest and has really clean hands once in there.
  5. Well I think today's performance will do no bad in trying to lure Roos to the club.
  6. That is a little thread of horrors, poor Demonator: The next big thing... 'Lucas Cook and Tom Rockliff from Brisbane'
  7. I thought we had a lot of positives today. Namely our pressure was good, forcing some bad disposal and the fact that we were pretty good at holding onto the ball with short kicks. We hit up targets pretty well and going into the forward 50 we were really efficient. As well as that, the back six should hold their heads up high. To restrict the Swans to that score with the amount of footy which was being delivered down there was a great effort, especially after Chippa was subbed. Negatives: not sticking tackles, one too many handballs and not spreading in patches. Overall I was pretty pleased with today. Without a couple of those horrendous calls in the last 15 minutes it might have been even closer.
  8. Why Fritzel? Wasn't he Josef? Fitzy has been great so far, it's pretty nice that the issue going forward (if he keeps this form) will be 'how do we fit Fitz, Gawn, Clark, Dawes, Watts and Hogan in the same team?'.
  9. At least we'll see some great footy today, it probably ain't going to be from our end though.
  10. Cheers. I wouldn't mind Tuck though he might be a bit old now. Still seems to contribute pretty well and is a really good sized midfielder, something we've lacked for ages.
  11. This is exactly the thinking we had with Neeld last year and I like it. It just didn't work because there wasn't a whole lot on offer and we weren't an attractive prospect at all. I hope we are more enticing this time, and the Byrnes' and Rodan's are upgraded to the likes of Stokes and Cross. On a side note, anyone know what the go is with Shane Tuck at the moment?
  12. Probably read off a page of the exact statements that Scully's manager made.
  13. Nothing like watching Carlton and Richmond get hammered one day after the other, satisfaction!
  14. GWS would always have been putting their top pick up though. They desperately need some quality, experienced players. The last couple of years have been great for drafting potential stars but now they really need some older leaders.
  15. Here's what I've heard, and make of it what you will... Carlton are practically demanding a trade of Dunn, Strauss, Davis, Spencer and Bail for Murphy. They were also pretty annoyed that we couldn't throw Morton in there.
  16. Beauty, I also heard he was a stick? Doesn't look so thin in that photo.
  17. Jeez he's got a rubbish haircut, hope he can kick the ball
  18. Surely PJ will be able to find the incentive to keep Craig at the club, even if it's not in the role of Head Coach. That is if Jacko thinks he should stay and has what we need.
  19. Rpfc, let it go. Trying to debate a point with Sat is like trying to educate a brick wall, it'll get you nowhere.
  20. Beauty, Lions signing themselves to the doldrums for another two years on the back of one good win
  21. The winds change along with a players form, Dunn played better last year than he has so far this year ergo sum people are going to call for him to be dropped.
  22. Come on mate, it's clear that people don't want change for change sake but rather because we are terrible. Dunn is a target because he is not a very good football player, as are many in the side.
  23. He did play his best game but when one on one with Cordy and the other big fellas he was killed. Not really through his own fault though as he was giving away about 3 or 4 inches.
