  1. No of course we wouldn't and I'd bet that he doesn't want to go anywhere. The point I was making was that just because a player may be contracted, doesn't mean that he won't be traded. I think everyone here except for 'older demon' can be confident that Jonesy is here for the long haul!
  2. I reckon the Hawks might feel it more when Hale finishes up than when Buddy goes - he's so important to their setup and gives them a lot in the ruck and up forward. He's very flexible.
  3. As I said above, Fyfe is an absolute gun but that is overs I think.
  4. He's playing AFL footy you [censored], and doing it pretty well. I'm sure you've dreamed of that at some stage in your life. It's not very pathetic at all.
  5. Stress less old fella. Jonesy will be a Dee for a long time yet - there isn't anything we'd take from Geelong for him that they'd offer up. He is also possibly in line for the captaincy. Nate bleeds for the club, he won't be going anywhere.
  6. I'd have thought it was fairly unlikely but he might be a bit concerned about the coaching situation at the moment. You are probably right about the captaincy too, not many others standing up over there at the moment.
  7. Reported on a couple of the facebook pages that Scott Selwood is being 'heavily linked' to us. Is he an FA? Note: obviously the facebook pages aren't the most reliable sources.
  8. That can't be said until we see what they play like for an extended period of time without him. I think they could be better without him, but we'll have to wait and see.
  9. Yeah thanks to all the work you guys do, you do a great job!
  10. This doesn't make sense for me. Sure, Freo would land Boyd but lose Fyfe, who will be the essential part of their midfield for the next decade. They don't have any other youngsters like Fyfe.
  11. Personally I think part of this is probably to do with the make of their jumper - the vertical stripes can make the players look leaner. But going by KG a few of them, particularly Gunston, are lighter than usual.
  12. It's not a quick fix, it's stabilizing the list. We grab a couple of guys in their late twenties to fill the experience gaps that have been there for years and then aim younger. We need a more balanced list, this has been obvious for years.
  13. Wouldn't say an outhouse but he definitely wasn't a 'Morton'. Bit of an anticlimax for me... I remember watching his first couple of games and thought he could be a decent player if he worked on a couple of things. Didn't eventuate (who knows why), but as said above pick 52 so not a huge loss.
  14. We need players who can have an impact straight away - we are so bad that we need instant improvement. Forget about development players for a year or two, right now we need to recruit and draft to become instantly competitive. Montagna is the kind of player we should be trying to grab, as long as we aren't paying too much for him.
  15. Cost saving I suppose! The career mode isn't anywhere near as good as I was hoping.
  16. You just have to do a little more typing and a little more clicking... not that difficult.
  17. A true legend of the MFC, he'll be talked about in the history books for decades to come
  18. I'd rather a solid midfielder to add to our one midfielder, than no other midfielders which is what we have. Not every player has to be a gun. If Terlich could play a role in the middle and rotate through the backline, that would be great.
  19. Personally I'm hoping Roos sees Terlich's hardness and agility in traffic as aspects of his game which will see him play in the middle. I said it during the season and I'll say it again, I think Terlich could become a pretty solid midfielder, playing a role.
  20. I was under the impression he still had responsibilities to the community but I guess there is a good chance he doesn't anymore after what happened. It would be a pretty great thing to happen if he did make it back but I just think he is probably too out of sorts to do it and that there isn't adequate support anywhere for him.
  21. Goodes and O'Loughlin aren't really relevant as I was referring to players with situations like Jurrah, maybe even to a lesser extent Austin Wonaemirri. The fact is I don't think there is any AFL coach that is really suited at this point. That's why Jurrah just won't work I think, unless he can pull himself together and walk away from the community issues (which I hope no one would ever ask him to do).
