    Yeah I think it's more about replacing players with slightly better ones, if we can't get vastly better players. That way we should at least be getting better and on a curve of improvement.

    Hang on, Richmond are a much better side than us, played finals and Nahas played quite a few games. Kent will be playing in the middle and Taggert hasn't played an AFL game - going by that, wouldn't Nahas be a better option?

    Could be worth a rookie spot if we can't find a small forward option somewhere else. Not sure I'd want him on the main list though.

    Why not though? I know he had a serious injury in his first year but he has had 3 (?) preseasons since to work hard and build a good fitness base but hasn't.

    It's annoying that we have to rely on a coach to 'make' a player because they aren't intrinsically driven or motivated enough. Personally I just don't think Blease has the drive or determination and is a bit of a front runner.

    Is it so wild to predict that Jay Clark is hogans_heroes? That's a more accurate 'rumour' than anything Clark comes up with.

    Maybe? Pick 2 - 5 for Howe would be an enormous win for us.

    But they won't use it just for the sake of it, the likelihood of them picking up a player who'll make an impact that late is next to none.

    Of course the manager will be well over estimating his value, that's how it works. Pick 20 for Vince is over the top IMO and I don't think we'll do it.

    That's rubbish, they won't even use a fifth round pick.

    This is actually not a bad concept at all. I thought Rawlings did a reasonable job at the Tiges when he was interim coach. We could do much worse and seems to be held in high regard around the league as an assistant.

    Dew signed a 3 year contract extension at Sydney, so we'll be waiting a lot longer than 12 months.

    Of course, but we won't have to because Chip will be signing a renewal next season.

    The idea that we might give pick 2 for him is just ridiculous. He is a relatively unproven, young player who was taken late in the draft and has been in and out of the Adelaide side. I know trade period makes people edgy, try and put it out of your mind

    No one said anything about Lyons for pick 2. A third rounder or second rounder should snag him, unless he comes in a package deal with another player for a higher pick.

    Elliot isn't a midfielder but he'll be the best small forward in the comp in a couple of years. We need a small forward too.

    The names I throw up now in possible trade scenarios have been influenced heavily by the crap that people post on the trade rumours thread... that's the level we (I) stoop to during this troubled time.

    Sylvia compo pick and a third rounder for Vince and Lyons sounds about right.

    They are quite different players and Rohan has struggled to get onto the field and has been underwhelming to say the least when playing. I don't think he's worth looking at at all.
