  1. So this means we're still in the running for Oscar McDonald?
  2. Grass roots? I can see Gil now asking, "Who is Grass? And who is he rooting?"
  3. For people who understand these things, is the muscle definition that Daw shows in any way linked to aerobic fitness? In other words, should his physical appearance give us confidence that he's aerobically fit?
  4. The story suffers from a lack of comment from the AFL to explain the changes. If Foxfooty didn't ask the AFL for comment, it's shoddy work. If the AFL was asked to comment and didn't do so, that's exceedingly poor PR and gross mismanagement of the issue. I might be mistaken, but I can't help but view some of the comments from the nine clubs as thinly disguised misogyny.
  5. Lockdown ends tonight. I expect detailed reports of Friday's training. No excuses.
  6. I'm not sure S Burgoyne was "discarded", so: Exhibit 3: Bernie Vince
  7. I remain unconvinced that the club would make money from a social club.
  8. I'm conscious that your main issue is the process. However, your views of Peter Lawrence can't be found in this thread. Are they somewhere else or has the deep state now sanitised this thread?
  9. Interesting food for thought. I notice, though, that you made no comment about Peter Lawrence's candidacy even though you worked with him. Should we draw any conclusions from that omission?
  10. I don't remember the exact language used, but is it possible that the club meant 4 weeks from the beginning of the season proper?
  11. Sorry, Luci, I didn't mean to upset you. I'm just disappointed that my training reports fix for Monday and Wednesday won't be sated.
  12. As everyone in Victoria knows, we're in lockdown. For football, I believe that means club's can only train in 10-person groups until the lockdown ends (supposedly on Wednesday, but who knows...). For Demonland, I expect this means no training reports as I doubt travelling to Casey is one of the four accepted reasons for leaving home and it's probably only within 5 km for very few Demonlanders anyway. But some perspective is necessary. No training reports is a small price to pay if the lockdown stops the spead of Covid. But I'm still going to miss them.
  13. A question about the process...does a player have to be training with us to be eligible for selection? Or could we select anyone we like, such as a player training with another club or someone not even training with an AFL club at all?
  14. I didn't want to start a new thread, but wanted to post this insightful tweet:
  15. Are you saying that a person who makes good money from his or her occupation cannot also be subjected to racism? Why else mention "his $$"?
  16. My narrative? What's my "narrative"?
  17. I think the opposite. All the content you identify as being drafted by the player I see as being written by a professional writer. But I agree with you that none of it changes what this topic is or should be about.
  18. All I'm suggesting is that someone in Collingwood's media team might have provided the answers and included that expression because that's a name that person had heard Heretier being called. It doesn't mean that Heretier approved of the name or enjoyed being called by it.
  19. Snap. Didn't see this before I posted (above).
  20. There's no guarantee that Heretier actually provided these answers. They could have been written by someone in Collingwood's media team.
  21. There might be some gobbledygook there, but if I'm Patton's lawyer (and I assume he has a lawyer), I'd be very upset with Clarkson's comments. Is virtually saying Patton is guilty of something without being specific or clear as to what that might be. Hardly a helpful comment for Patton.
  22. I see Carroll ended up going as pick 41 to Carlton. Carroll's from WA, so selecting a Victorian in Rosman at least negates any potential "go home" factor with that pick.
  23. Apparently with the retirments of Varcoe and Wells, Collingwood has no indigenous players on their list. Given the findings of the much discussed review, it seems likely to me that Collingwood wanted Jetta for his value in developing indigenous culture from within as much as for any playing skill he could have provided. I'm being generous here. It's also possible to look at Collingwood's interest in Jetta as purely tokenistic. However, I'll assume the former rather than the latter.
