  1. CAS sentence the players, could be anything from 2 year bans to the whole team being banned.
  2. Fair enough - won't argue too much except to say Martin has played in more Premiership sides. But I've been feeling the pain for quite a few years now, every time watching Adelaide play, agreed.
  3. Martin Pike for me. We had him and he showed what a great player he could be - just we never saw it while he wore the best colours
  4. Agree totally - normally I feel the injured player is inadequately protected but this is not one of those cases; May bumped a player running alongside him to get a clear run at the ball - correct decision Stuff happens in contact sport and not every result comes from negligent/reprehensible behaviour ( sometimes with serious or tragic aftermath ) It certainly helps if you play for a top team - that much is certain ...
  5. Shirley though in our system James is 100% indubitably entitled to the best legal defence money can buy ?
  6. If this cultural problem gets much worse, it could get to the stage where children are put in jail and nobody even cares what effect being exposed to violence and intimidation will have on them. Wait.... I take it back That day could never come
  7. Saw GWS at 4.40 before half time and failed to act to cover my 50 on Melbourne When will I ever learn .........
  8. Another migraine-producing decision from the MRP Launched himself off the ground, not looking at the ball, collected the opponent with an elbow to the face after the mark was taken. Probably judged it low impact because it didn't break his jaw
  9. If we can beat this lot we are definitely making progress!! They are linking up well and it ain't just Jones and Viney no more
  10. The way you're being so gentle with him, you obviously have a soft spot for him. And it has been a noteworthy turnaround too, hasn't it. Perhaps he can bottle the cure and patent it - no need to sell his cameras then, hey?
  11. In law, contractors must bring all their own tools and equipment, not use the employer's Which to me invites the question as to what tools and equipment they supplied to engage in their paid activities
  12. Thanks for the clarification DL Even if my unchecked recollection was mistaken I suspected revisionism to be alive and well. Note to self : be pedantic - check dates forget about meaning
  13. It's not really deceit if it was their unambiguous intention from the first days post-election to push GMH out of Australia Shirley ? (cf : they need to make up their minds, they can't go on .... etc.) I think that closing down the car industry and causing Ford and Toyota to follow in quick succession is far and away the Abbott Government's most spectacular achievement with the associated loss of jobs in S.A. and Vic. in all those allied industries running a close second. Of course we won't appreciate the full import of the number of jobs lost until the end of 2015 and beyond but, hey, who cares? A few more children in poverty, a few more women bashed, a small price to pay for staying true to Maggie Thatcher's vision
  14. Got to be a Good Thing to have Uncle Kev in the next room under the collective roof at Bombtown just in case a meteor hit anyone of note Who knows? Post-meteor he could become Big Kev and could change rooms and put on a new hat.

  16. Just astonishing watching ABC news after the footy tonight. Karmichael Hunt pleads guilty to cocaine possession on 1, 8, 27 Sept and 3rd Oct 2014 in Qld. He is still reeling from the $2500 fine and no conviction inflicted upon him ( despite his guilty plea) [spare me ] Meanwhile in Victoria, a corrupt policeman (Kieran John Atkins) who falsely accused a motorist of using his vehicle to ram a police car was given a 4-month suspended sentence [will he ever recover?] and fined $7000 for his deceitful actions which likely would have seen the accused motorist jailed had not his fellow policeman refused to endorse his lies. There does not appear to be much appetite in the lofty halls of Justice to make emphatic statements to maintain or restore high standards of probity and conduct in our society. Perhaps these weak-kneed or asinine decisions are a portent of the (not) withering calibre of examination which will be seen to have been applied to some other cheats near and dear to our hearts.
  17. What is this (nonsense) about protecting the players' privacy ? If I'm charged with a crime I usually see it in the newspapers and on TV as a matter of public record. I still have a photo stored on my computer of the double page spread with all the photos and details from the Hun article of 2013 or whenever it was and I can't really be fussed about expending much energy to find it but, really, What's It All About ?
