Current Umpiring
possibly could add deliberate out-of-bounds to that list ?

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs Adelaide
What?

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs Adelaide
There’s an umpire-induced desperation about Melbourne’s back half disposal in the contests that is making Adelaide look good in their approach to goal

POSTGAME: Rd 08 vs Sydney
Interesting as an observation compared to 3 years ago we can now hit a target and our skill level is now such that it’s expected that we will make good choices and execute also good to see the Pies have a win they are definitely a top-17 side

GAMEDAY: Rd 08 vs Sydney
Not sayin it’s over but I’m worrying about my money on Sydney

CHANGES: Rd 07 vs North Melbourne
I remember one of the players being discussed having a crucial shot at game end that didn’t end well. if I can remember it it’s likely he hasn’t forgotten Bringing him back to the senior level in a game like the next one could be the right time to reinstate his place in the firsts and build the confidence that will be necessary later in the year (likely)

Farewell Jesse Hogan
It’s a small point but an important one it’s ‘wringer’ ii you misspell it people might possibly misunderstand what you mean
-
One thing you'd like to see in 2020
Melbourne to develop the mentality they’ve lacked for many years - to not back off when they’re in front but to pressure on and win in a way that the opponent won’t forget quickly

Does the Bible Condemn Gambling?
The only thing I will say is that it’s difficult to lose money betting on the team playing Melbourne. I’m not sure whether that practice should be termed gambling

Farewell Jesse Hogan
History remembers those who are talented AND nice , like Ghengis Khan for example

Calling All MCC Members
We pay the MCC/MFC full membership for our five (grown up and with mortgages) children as well as for me and the old fashioned Guest ticket for my wife. I start taking Valium in August One thing you do get with the full MFC is a nominated child to be a member and with 13 grandchildren only one of whom is unfaithful (poo and wee) there’s no shortage of candidates to take up the membership. In a couple of years my 50 year membership of the MCC comes up and the annual premium becomes $50 a year which means I might be able to give up work

This Earth - as WE KNOW IT
Yesterday’s Australian is full of letters rejoicing in the previous day’s article which explains why those silly scientists are all wrong about rising carbon dioxide levels. Can anyone provide a non paywall version of that article?

Farewell Jesse Hogan
If Jesse doesn’t go this trade period and I hope he doesn’t, every media event next year will make his life a never ending circus with questions and speculation. Maybe even if he has said to the FD that he wants out next year, he could be persuaded to sign a (three year) contract extension to keep the dogs away in 2019 with the FD agreeing that they will enter negotiations this time next year. This would give him a calm footy environment for the year and place the club in a (more) sound negotiating position instead of the frantic mess we are currently witnessing. Supposition but could be a reasonable interim outcome

1964 memories- calling our older supporters
I was there and can’t add much to those fantastic summaries and to have footage is a wonderful memory. Perhaps a little context The world was simpler then and evil wore gaol stripes - probably so they felt at home after they got out. There was huge antagonism between those two teams in those days - not like the respect shown today - although even as a young one understanding right and wrong I had to respect Ray Gabelich’s great lumbering run when (as I remember it) a kick from the Melbourne half forward line caught him alone on the other side of the centre. He certainly nearly won it for the forces of Darkness. Those were the days of many complaints about Melbourne’s ‘home ground advantage’, when three or four people would go up for a mark which would always be awarded to the man in front and when any little push in the back was paid every time. so different.... and never ever forgotten

Harsh No doubt with Jesse not being the required target the team balance has changed and we’ve become more threatening probably because we’re less predictable. Jesse had been going up the ground more to become a more versatile player prior to his injury and when you consider his better application to chasing and tackling this year, the signs are there that he will be a real contributor next year. Long Live Jesse !

Post Match Discussion - Elimination Final
Having been in Geelong these past two days I’ve had the benefit of exposure to the Geelong Advertiser and its reporting of community affairs. The one particular story (among many worthy entrants) that caught my eye was about the local lad who required the paper to publish a formal correction after he was caught unlicensed and doing wheelies with an unfortunate rabbit tied to his rear bumper. Anyways, the Advertiser reported (incorrectly) that he had been arrested on the spot and charged and he required a retraction - namely that he had merely been charged and not arrested (facts not in dispute) Advertiser’s mistake publicly acknowledged. Anyways, I recommend this journal as an indicator of where the current state of society sits - it never ever disappoints. But back to the matter in hand - with its back page lead of how Gazza was gunna show them and with so many fulsome articles on how Melbourne would be overawed what with their almost total lack of finals experience and with the astonishing talent of Dangerfield, Tommy Boy, Selwood etc it would appear that the possibility of Melbourne winning the game was almost unthinkable. What a thrill to see that pressure and energy from a great group playing for each other and the team - beats the individualists and having watched Nathan Jones through the dark years as our only quality player at times, it’s been a joy to see his faithful service to our club return a dividend in his second final appearance. Thanks so much Nate

Please excuse me stating that is a bone ignorant incorrect statement If that’s what your expert witness is going to say find a new defence strategy asap

Is that the one where he ran past a first game Melbourne player who never played again? If so pot kettle black

From the looks of this photo, the mouth guard has done its job and the lower jaw which is not covered by the mouth guard has been broken. Teeth involved in the fracture line (apparently) have been removed. It’s a shocking injury and I think that’s why some people (but not others) become slightly emotional

Sorry to say this is not your finest work. (a) At what point will bone be added to replace post extraction/traumatic bone loss so that implanted teeth can be placed? (I’m guessing Dec 2018) (b) Could there be spiral root cracks that might take years to manifest? See (a) (c) What on earth would happen if a similar blow - accidental or not - was delivered in the future to this sophisticated repair work?

Discount of 50% for being an interstate team with a large membership 4 weeks Totally agree with your initial assessment but. This kind of action needs to be eliminated from the game
