  1. Be interesting to see how we develop and introduce him to AFL level footy over the next year or two. I recon he needs a couple of pre-seasons to develop the engine and strength to play as a key forward against men. I like what he should become, reminds me a bit of Matty Lloyd... here's hoping. Welcome to the MFC Sam!
  2. Is it just me or does Max Gawn increasingly remind anyone else of "Treebeard" from LOTR? https://youtu.be/gyxzsVKaD0g
  3. It could have gotten out of the Dons bag with a guess that we'll take Oliver... Dons then take X and Y leaving us with the Wiedeman.
  4. I don't mind that, as its his way of acknowledging his woeful performance in 2015.
  5. Given it appears that Parish and Oliver are both possibilities for pick 3. One way of anticipating the thinking is how many other up and coming players we have of this type?* Parish - appears similar to Stretch and ANB, with Salem, Vince etc also similar mids Oliver - appears similar to vandenBurg and Petracca with few other similar mids. Not sure who this indicates we'll pick, but if all else is "equivalent", it probably points to Oliver. *this is off very limited viewing of both candidates
  6. Either way, he's just demonstrated that he's not be the sharpest tool in the shed...?
  7. The only (im) plausable thread that supports Roosy's claim of a conspiracy, would involve him trying to join his brother at Carlton by being taken with their pick 12... Long shot, and a bizarre way of attempting to do it if there is any truth to the claim. When faced with a choice between self-destructive incompetence and a conspiracy, i generally believe the former...
  8. Our best win of this year, against the Cats at Mordor, was without Hogan, and our temporary tall forward structure held up quite well...
  9. I hope they put up his highlights package soon...
  10. I think if Jesse believes that the club is so clueless that he should be directing our draft and team development strategy, he's already half way back across the Nullarbor... I'd hope the club has informed Jesse (and the other players) of our startegy and they are supportive and aligned with it, and their role in it...
  11. Those three are intriguing, as they are all capable of being top 10 players in 2016. That most have them borderline top 22 should act as a spur for them to have a huge preseason and hit the season hard. Perhaps this will be another benefit of all this young talent blossoming... ... the old talent are shamed into pulling their fingers out!
  12. That hypothetical would involve us trusting the most unethical club in Australian sport.
  13. There would be no harm in us telling the Dons our pick 3 choice (i.e. Parish), assuming we are certain of it. It might explain why the Don have gone cold on Parish (i.e. he's unavailable to them). I don't think the Dons will take both Curnow and Wiedeman, as they have a need to bolster their midfield. So most likely one should be available to us. I suspect we'll land Parish and Wiedeman
  14. Parish is an Under age AA, who is seen by all as the most complete midfield of this draft. His only "weakness" is that at 181cm, he's 4 cm shorter than Simon Goodwin. Ben Cousins was 179cm...
  15. Not wanting to sound condescending, but you do realise this is all just entertainment! It's the business they're in...
  16. HEY! Are you having a go at Devo!!??? Sheeeesh!
  17. I think The Dons will take Curnow instead of Weideman, as he has the potential to address two of their concern areas at once (mid and forward), they are really short on quality young mids) and with limited viewings Weideman seems too similar to Daniher...
  18. I'm on the Parish and McKay wagon, assuming Weideman is gone by 7. Curnow seems too similar to Petracca in size and style, and given Mckay is 17 and raw, he'd be an ideal candidate for second tall with ruck time potential in 2017.
  19. 1. Desperately seeking the attention and connection with my Demons supporting Dad 2. Robbie was a ray of sunshine, courage, loyalty and perseverance. He should be Sainted. 3. Qualifying final Vs Carlton in 2000, come back in last quarter, Yze kicks ball of ground to put us in front, ball sails up and hits me on the chest, crowd roars... euphoria! 4. Waverley Park Preliminary.... still hurts. Hate the hawks so much. 5. Thinks are looking up..
  20. I think Brayshaw shows all the signs of a future leader. Too early now, but would be pushing in 4 years as well.
  21. Its interesting how people assume that Paul Roos, a competitive premiership coach with an ego would not be wanting to orchestrate an amazing finish to his time as head coach at Melbourne, and would instead be meekly passing the batten early to an untried junior coach a year early. 2016 is his last year as coach and I'd assume he will continue to be responsible for everything a head coach is, and, I would hope, be pushing for his final game as coach to be in mid to late September. Roos will be a big factor this year.
  22. All the pieces are now in place for us to build a bandwagon when we start winning games of footy. We look modern, groovy and ready to grow. Play and exciting brand of footy and I predict we will be shocked at our growth in three years time. Nice job!
  23. I like that it focuses on word "Melbourne" rather than the demon, as this is one of the critical branding advantages we have over other Melbourne based clubs who's name (original location) has been diminished in favour of their mascot i.e. Doggies, Kangaroos, Bombers, etc...
  24. Parish is broadly acknowledged by those who should know and whom have been watching the current crop for years, as the best available mid. We need more quality mids. That there's some doubt in some people's minds as to if we should pick him indicates they are misdiagnose get why we are languishing low on the ladder, I.e they've missed that we need to improve our midfield. On pick 7, I'd love a genuine tall forward rather than Curnow, I feel with Petracca coming in as a solid HF / mid we don't need another as much as a Clark type forward/ruck...
