His latest clips certainly show he's the complete package, and his kicking is sublime right out to 55 meters, as his shots on goal show. Talented kid, I don't recall Ben Cousins being that penetrating a kick.

If we're blowing our own horns here... I'd say mine was earlier http://demonland.com/forums/index.php?/topic/37991-farewell-jeremy-howe/page-76#entry1172928

We seemed to do better this year against the middle 6 than the bottom 6 weirdly...?
-
Totally agree. This draw is ok as it gives us the opportunity to build momentum with early season wins. If we can build momentum early, memberships and game attendance's will rise. The AFL has given us the opportunity, we need to convert it. Though unlikely, its not totally implausible we could hit the bye 9 win 4 losses. If we do, the media will have a story... "Roos last year surge!", "Hogans hero's head for September!" etc... the bandwagon will fill quickly. This draw is good for us if we're good enough to take it and make it work for us.

I like the draw, we've been given every opportunity to win 6 before the bye, and twice against the old enemy, tigers, Dons... should be something to savour there. If we can win consecutive and even get on a roll early on... the confidence will build quick in a young team. First nine games should hold few fears with GWS GIANTS (11th) Essendon (15th) North Melbourne (8th) Collingwood (12th) Richmond (5th) St Kilda (14th) Gold Coast (16th) Western Bulldogs (6th) Brisbane Lions (17th) All winnable.

With Bugg and Kennedy coming in, plus general list improvement JKH is going to have a stellar 2016 to get a regular game at AFL level.
-
Looking at the three new recruits in Bugg, Kennedy and Melksham, they are all hard tackling players who can hit up targets inside 50 with smart passing. Melksham has another arrow to his quiver in his long kicking is quite impressive. If they are an indication of the game style we're looking to grow next year, then Hogan, Watts and Garlett are going to reap havoc, as each is smart and able to create space in their own way.

With almost a month till Draft Day we're going to hear every possibility rolled out as our pick for 3 and 7... It's the nature of the media to spew out vaguely irresistible [censored]-bits for us obsessive saps to chew on...

I think the Pedo Vs Dawes debate will be moot by the end of the year with one of Frost/Smith/Pick 7? moving into the second tall forward (p/t ruck) role. Smith could be ideal with his leap, agility and basketball background to (like Frost) pitch hit in the ruck despite being a bit small. Also "Betty" is another who could create himself into forward-ruck roll.

All accounts have Parish as the best mid. We need mids, so no brainer on Parish for pick 3. I like what i hear, that he's a tough, inside/outside mid who tackles and is lippy... I even like his prince charming locks, shows he not affected by others opinions of him, is confident in himself. Pick 7 I'm not fussed between the various options, as my confidence in the FDs ability to nail this pick has risen markedly the past couple of years, I believe they'll nail this pick and have most likely all four of our preferred draft targets, subject to variables. The fact they stretched to minimise the variables in the first 7 picks indicates they know who they want... Which I like the feel of.

It came up early in the period that Freo may be interested in Jack Watts if they couldnt get a deal for McCartney from GWS. With a deal with GWS now looking unlikely will Jack's name come up again?

Are we keeping our powder dry?

I think the time to trade future picks is exactly when you're in Geelong's position, and the players you trade future picks for complete you enough to give you a crack at top four (and a serious tilt at a flag) the following year. Geelong are going to be contenders in 2016 based on their work this week.
-
The logic where I quote data on each players career achievements in the AFL to date, and you counter with a sophisticated version of "because"..?
-
And that's relevant to Anderson Vs Melksham, how?
-
A young ruck/forward who can't get a game at cats if Clark firing... could be just what we need.

Mentioned in afl.com.au -"However, the Blues could miss out on Geelong forward Josh Walker, with Melbourne rivals believed to be circling the 22-year-old." Not sure if they're referring to Melbourne, but maybe Josh is on our list..? http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-10-14/trade-winds-tigers-may-be-on-the-move http://www.geelongcats.com.au/player-profile/josh-walker

How is a kid who's played 10 AFL games averaging less than 10 possessions, better than a 100 game player who finished 9th in Dons B&F this year and 5th a few years back? Really!?
-
Pick 29 to Dons for Melksham?

I don't need a lot. It was the yellow boots that did it for me... very Benny.

Depends on the player(s), the list and the opinions on such of the people in charge at each club.
-
The highlights of Parish on the run, reminded me of Ben Cousins in full flight. I like the way the club is targeting players and then determinately pursuing and trading to get them. IF the "steak knives" are like the "steak knives" we got for pick 2 a couple of years back, we'll be laughing.
-
Lots of shadow boxing at the moment. We're in a good spot re-getting value for Howe... Howe has a good media presence as a walking highlights reel that the fans will love We have three clubs interested in him Gold Coast have reportedly offered him a four year deal for pick 3 upgrade from 6 and 2-3 rounder And it looks like GC are moving... so we see if North or Pies are willing to pay more.
-
Feels like we're ramping up the "other" offer to squeeze a deal out of GC... Ox is part of the MFC
