How could the Pies get Treloar, Howe, etc... pickwise?

Why would we not be in the conversation for Treloar? Agree we don't seem to be, curious as to why?

I have the feeling that Howe to GC is our best opportunity to land a big fish, either directly with GC or via accumulating picks to then trade to Syd or GWS who have quality academy kids (and F/S) to pay for... Mind you, it depends on your definition of a big fish. Is a player who comes in and within a couple of years wins our B&F a "big fish"? If so, Vince was one... and another may not be as hard as we think.

Long way to go this trade season, only Day 1, big fish require patience and a strategy. We can only wait and see what our FD can do.

Mate, Its Day 1 of the trade period! Yet you're claiming that we won't land a big fish? based on what? Then, you claim inside knowledge of the priorities of the FD. My claim about Melksham being "a priority" is based on the FACT that they targeted him weeks ago (publicly) and pushed through getting him on Day 1. You're quite strange.

It's evident that Milksham was targeted by the FD as a priority get, most likely several months ago, to fill a specific role in the structure that they are building. After the wins of recruiting last year and just acknowledging the professionalism by which Roos, Goodwin, Viney etc... go about selecting players to bring into the club, I've got confidence this deal will be good for us.

Based on the length of this thread (49 pages) compared to the length of the Dangerfield thread (169 pages) and given what the cats gave up for Dangerfield (1st Round + 2nd Round + 3rd round player) seems we got an OK deal for Melksham. Welcome to the MFC Jake...

Cant we just run an automated search and replace with the next A-grade player's name who becomes "available", and save ourselves from repeating another 168 pages of wishful thinking?

Brayshaw is the best first year mid I've seen at MFC for at least ten years. Petracca we shall have to see, but those who should know gush "Hogan like" about his talents and potential...

Do GC have any kids coming through their academy next year? May be Howe and a second round pick in 2016 for pick 10 (2015)?
