  1. I like the Hunt in as it releases Salem to replace Vince in the mid field rotations, and potentially frees H to play a more attacking role on the wing .
  2. Do we play the Pies VFL team this week? Where and when? 11:45 Vs Pies (VFL) on Sunday at MCG/Holden Centre... which is what?
  3. Can't wait to put on my best pirate voice and command... "Release the Petraccan!"
  4. Given the low quality of Frankston and the ease at which this game was played compared with the AFL vs North, I'd suggest Trac (and others) has to dominate at 90+% GT against a quality opposition to warrant a call up.
  5. Agree dee-luded. In a month if we have added Brayshaw, Petracca, Dawes and Trengove without significant injury, we should be motoring and ready to monster some teams. And Jeffy... of course.
  6. Pies are going to get kicked in the media all week and will expect to beat us...
  7. A key factor in determining who comes in is how quickly the young mids already in the team can build their engines Against North the players with the least game time were Wagner (63% - 1st game), Oliver (65% - 3rd game), Tyson (68%) and Harmes (71%). These players would ideally be building to 80% (where Viney, Vince Vandenberg, etc are). Until they can play at that level of game time there's a limit to how many young players (especially mids) we can add to the team. Hence, the realisation of the Brayshaw error Vs Dons, and why Petracca and Trenners will be need to be playing 80+% game time at VFL before they can even be considered, as we simply can't afford to rest them along side those kids already in the team.
  8. 144 point margin, with 3 players down... maybe we've got some depth coming through..
  9. Percentage = 500+%
  10. Over the past couple of years I've gotten much better at reading the fixture at the start of the season and deciding which Games I want to avoid and booking an alternate event so I don't put myself through it. Watching us play North tomorrow is one such game...
  11. Garlett Out - http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-04-08/garlett-to-miss-with-ankle-injury
  12. How can this team, most of whom were not here "over the last 8 or so years" be held accountable for the lack of "credits" teams of that period generated? Hogan from his 22 games? Oliver from his 1? Brayshaw from his...
  13. ... and that we can win games we're not expected to.
  14. Exactly We're TWO games into a 22 round season - we've won one against a club most had us pegged to lose to (GWS) and lost one against a club most had us pegged to beat (Essendon).
  15. So if we'd beaten the Dons would we be regarded as "significant"? or still "insignificant"? Were we regarded as suddenly "significant" when we knocked off the CAts and Pies last year? Its all humbug for the bored masses. These words have become meaningless when bandied around so easily and rashly. You're reacting to the noise, not seeing the forest for the trees, etc... The reality is we're at the start of third on-field year of a rebuild off the back of the club being in truely dire position following a decade of mismanagement and poor results. Let's not get stirred up my a media looking to further destabalise any club in order to create a "story". Move on to next week and let the coaches and player continue to improve their performances as they have for the past two+ years.
  16. He's having an opportunistic cheap shot at a young team after a surprise loss. To wrap his"analysis" up in the headline "Insignificant" is simply a lazy way to catch eyeballs. Many football commentators are resorting to sensationalism to grab attention, the crap about Hogan this week, the "season defining loss" drivel that Denham is spouting, blah,.. blah,.. blahh Its just self serving media crud from overpaid boofheads to obsessive fans who take every word spoken about their club in the media as relevant in some way to the footy team.

  18. Yep. Not going to happen.
  19. Four years later... found this one hard to recover from.
  20. Recently released.
  21. Each to their own then Mad. Have you ever tried it? I think it's fun and hilarious, and still treasure and enjoy the official singing when the siren sounds.
  22. You poor repressed thing you. I suggest vodka in a thermos and try it out. Sing'n as soon as the fat lady starts is guaranteed to rub salt... and you'll experience a liberating thrill of risking public humiliation to show faith in your team.
  23. Four quarter demolition, capped by sporadic singing of the song during the last should be good enough for me... The Dons are now cursed for a long time, they've already have suffered for years and still don't realise that they have a decade of humiliation to come.
  24. We need one of stretch, hunt and ... To come good.
  25. To me the question we need to answer, before considering Prestia, is what type of player, position, role do we need to complete the build for a premiership tilt? If id answered at half time on Saturday I'd have said outside runners. Other times I might say second ruck/forward? CHB? No question on Dion's value, but for MFC 2017+ do we need another inside mid? At the moment I think a Sean Burgoyne type would suit us better, though not sure who that might be...
