  1. I don't think a new coach of a club with our history can afford to have the "Hogan stay-go" circus run into the 2017 season. If Hogan himself can not see this, and decide now, then it's pretty clear he's not got the MFC's interests at heart and which way he'll go at end of 2017...
  2. So you think a 20 year old and his manager are "out thinking" the experienced professional traders and thinkers at the MFC?! That seems unlikely. Im not saying Hogan is gone, but that we now are requiring he decide now, and we'd only do that if we were OK with him going now, in fact have plans by which we would benefit from it. Fyfe fits as a player by which we'd benefit.
  3. Couple of things... Goodwin said in his recent press conference along the lines of" seasons over now's time for Hogan to decide". we managed the Frawley defection to our advantage collecting pick 3 as a result of asking AFL for priority pick and selling Frawleys versatility. Fyfe was making noises a month ago then went silent. Shrewd trading and thinking by Viney and Taylor over last couple of years... Lots of reasons
  4. I'd take Hogan. My point is that the MFC are pulling more strings in this than is recognised, and will have all scenarios planned for... With solutions where we come out ahead.
  5. Maybe it's not Hogans camp feeding the rumour mill but the MFC..? Perhaps we know that a certain Freo Brownlow medalist is open to joining Melbourne this year if a trade can be done...
  6. Bring on the evil empire next week... #Doggiesalltheway
  7. Hawks starting to squeal like little piggies...
  8. Because young players look at the talent already on our list (compared to Blues, Pies, Tigers) and think [censored] I'll never crack a game there, pass...
  9. I like the attitude of poking the "Big boys", has a feel of a club confident it is on the rise and prepared to back itself. That we finished higher than both clubs, beat both easily, and have a better list and more stable club at the moment are the exact points PJ should be pointing out to the footy community, especially players considering a move to a Melbourne club.
  10. Exactly, and both have proven value beyond those players mentioned as trade bait (Grimes, Dawes, etc...). What would they be worth to say Gold Coast? As in buy low and sell high(er).
  11. Happy for PJ to put some skin in that game.
  12. Thats fair enough. Its interesting, if we could get McLuggage (quick skilled outside mid) what would it be worth losing?
  13. Hardly "extraordinary" and hardly an "error of judgement". Well documented that Micky wasn't on board, won the flag then showed the Pies the forks before matching off to the Blues and enjoyed Buckley dropping further down the ladder every year... I.e. Micky didn't leave Bucks a list or club with which he'd succeed... PJ was spot on and good on him for saying it. Bucks playing for his career in 2017.
  14. I was thinking about the Suns high picks and what it would take for us to nab one, and thought maybe we'd trade one or both of the two Qld boys on the list, in Wagner and VandenBerg..? Both high draft picks who've shown a bit and may warrant some interest... and a low draft pick. Would both players (combined) get us a top 10 Pick? Who else (with value could we explore trading for the right Round One pick? 16. Not sure we'd get all three, and how keen we'd be on 2017 pick. Would pick 3 (McCluggage?) and Gaff Neale be a fair return that would improve us as a team?
  17. If it is to be, that Hogan goes home to Perth. What would be the likely scenario... What would we reasonably be able to get from Freo in return? And how could we, in turn, use this to make us a better team? ps I want Hogan to stay, but trust the FD to maximise our return should he choose to leave.
  18. We now seem to have a surplus of HBFs in Melksham, Hibberd, Lamumba, Hunt, Salem, Wagner. So suspect some of these (especially Hunt and Salem, maybe Melksham/Hibberd) will spend more time in the midfield/wing.
  19. Would love the see the Doggies bundle the Hawks out in straight sets next week....
  20. What blew the Weagles away was the Doggies pressure and slick ball movement by hand to create space from which to deliver forward. Sounds familiar? Made me think we're on the right path or game plan the way we've been getting much better at this as well.
  21. I'm saying adding an experienced mature player with many seasons and finals to our squad is a better option than adding another kid we pick up at pick 81... There are many leadership, professionalism, etc... benefits, but by simply sharing the load with a broader group of 22 capable players (and NDS would be top 22 next year) we'd be better able to reach finals and win them when we get there.
