  1. I used to tape our games and keep our wins but this year I have deleted them all (including previous years) because I just don't see us ever getting better and these bictories seem hollow. Again today we keep making poor decisions and inaccurate executions, everyone is guilty. Watched the Doggies v Coll game and both these playing groups are miles ahead of us unfortunately.
  2. St Kilda are clearly a better foot-skilled team. We seem a rabble again. I think I'll mow the lawns...
  3. Roosy marketing him as our best or equal best player was v clever.
  4. Flights cancelled in and out of Bali due to volcanic ash so stuck here for 1 or 2 days. Match is on TV but having seen the 1st quarter I think I might as well re-join the kids in the pool and drink some more Bintangs...
  5. Posters who preferred Lynch over Dixon should have a look at this GCS v NM game. Dixon has such great hands and Lynch seems to fumble everything.
  6. Can someone explain what has happened to Tom McDonald ? Seems lost these past 3 weeks.
  7. This is duller than last years Grand Final I'm afraid
  8. I'm at the ground listening to the roars as the teams came on. I think they forgot to advertise the game, nobody here, no atmosphere at all except really loud music.
  9. I saw most of the Casey game v Collingwood several weeks ago and Stretch really appealed as someone who can actually provide pace and skill (and courage) vis-a-vis the other players we have on our list who unfortunately do turn it over and regularly kick it OOB or to the opposition.....at trade time if we can nab my personal favourite A Treloar and another UFA mid plus bring on ANB and Petracattack (I sense he will be really good) we are starting to get there....God it's hard work following the Dees but it's in my blood.
  10. How good is Watts. He just doesn't like competitive football. Imagine him in a Grand Final.
  11. Last week showed we can beat sides that don't turn up to play but GWS has come to play. What an awesome midfield. Pace, toughness and skill in spades. A pity that GWS is a soulless, irrelevant footy club that no one is interested in while the Dees have so many long-term die-hard fans and rich history. I blame James Brayshaw. If North (another slightly irrelevant footy club) had taken the cash and set up in the Gold Coast, GWS would never have been born...
  12. Like many others, I feel excited by the selections. I was vacillating about going on Sat but given that we have 7 newbies, one playing his 200th and 3 debutants (Hoges at last), me and my 9 yo will go along and check out the R Flower Wing. Will check out the 'reserves' game too. Surprised that I'm surprised about this team. Go Dees
  13. I am here watching. H and Jeffy our only genuine talents. Hoges is being held well by Mitch Brown. Not sure what playing against this team means. Lack of intensity at ground level is palpable. It's a training match.
  14. Heading to the ground now after advising a group of Dreamteamers on Dees players. They were surprised I said Dean Terlich was not best 22 and they all said who is Matt Jones ! I am looking forward to seeing big Hoges and Frosty...
  15. Just received an email to get behind my favourite Melbourne player. http://view.tmclient.ticketmaster.com/?j=fec411747660007a&m=fe9915707d640c7974&ls=fdfc17717760017474157470&l=fece15707c62057d&s=fe1d1c7373650474721c78&jb=ffcb10&ju=fe5a16737c6c047c7213&camefrom=EMCL_543447_23980177&r=0 That would make Wattsy 114 years old. Certainly a long-term relationship.
  16. Yes, the thought of 2 ready-to-go midfielders joining the midfield roster of: N Jones, Tyson, Vince, Viney, Toumpas, Salem and Cross sounds good to me.
  17. The Media is certain that Paddy will go number one but my mail, reconfirmed today, is this is a smokescreen to create interest in the #1 pick. Christian will not be available to us as a "deal has been done". So if you believe Roosy about the top 3 names then its Paddy and Angus for us. Fascinating stuff, time will tell....
  18. I understand from a St Kilda source that "Petracca is a done deal". Good news either way as I was sold on the idea of Paddy joining forces with Jesse and forming a formidable duo.
  19. 14th 84.9% Hoping to finish above Saints, GWS, Carlton and Bulldogs. Probably go skiing in New Zealand mid-year but I will attend the first game and hope for the best...
  20. As I jogged by AAMI stadium a few minutes ago I noticed this bearded man doing repeat sprints by himself. Would you call it pre-pre-season training? It sounds like 2015 is going to be an interesting year for him. Good luck to him.
  21. If Clark requests a trade to Geelong, then Smedts and M Brown are possible pawns that Cats will offer.
  22. We had great seats on tier 4 in row A and we were quite excited when Tom Jones belted out Delilah directly in front of us and when ONJ came on I was just about there. Unfortunately the contest was non-event and the game a dull affair. We left at 3 qtr time along with many others. Who won the Norm Smith ?
  23. Maybe McCarthy has gone past Burbury as that small forward role. Nick Bourke was on their list for 5 minutes. If I was Roos, I would be straight after Schroder and Stringer, maybe look at Burbury too.
  24. I posted this in another thread being thoughts passed on from an astute Cats supporter mate: Jesse Stringer - Inside midfielder. Ok pace, question marks on engine size. Has had off field issues. George Burbury - Good mid sized forward. Nice kick, attacks the ball hard. Would be surprised if the Cats let him go. Schroder - Inside midfielder, good size. Won Liston Medal so can play. Didn't think he was on the chopping block either and says they are mad if they let him go. Jackson Sheringham - Another mid that is outside Cats best 22 and really dropped back a few pegs as some of the younger blokes went past him. Goes alright without being a superstar. Understandably some of the Cats off-cuts are likely to be enticing, Burbury and Shroder in particular... PS: I think I might have to change one of my favourite players as he is off to Hawthorn, apparently. Reckon I might add Dom T, the cheese and kisses reckons he's ok too and Bernie, great name and fun bloke !
  25. Yes Hawthorn is getting all the 50:50's. Port bad kicking but I think they still have the ability to win this game. Many of the Hawks are just too slow. I loved watching Sydney last night. Their midfield is what we should aspire to not the Hawks.
