Point taken, PM. But I'm not sure that the atmosphere needs jazzing up. The AFL and the tv media would certainly expand this idea to music after goals, etc without a moment's hesitation. The fine line would be long forgotten once it is crossed. It's already an aural assault at the game, why add to it? Judging by the musical lather cranked up on this thread, many may well like that.

Before, after, during, all the same....... it's not the timing but the idea of playing some commercial pop song to entertain when the footy is entertainment enough. FFS, what's next....... The Demonette cheerleaders? How about fireworks and a marching band? Footy is a simple and highly watchable game. It is the poorer for being interfered with and razzmatazzed.

Definitely think Rivers is the only one who would be a regular starter in our best side in 2013. I believe we will miss him next year and that he will thrive at Geelong. Good luck to him.

We are very quick to point out Rivers and Petterd as being Geelong and Richmond players now, but it's worth remembering they are yet to play a game at those clubs. The wider footy public still associates their behaviour as stemming from MFC culture, particularly since they were hanging out with drunk current MFC players in bay 13. Poor judgement by Chip, Howe and Dunn.

Are you serious? Past players? Then lets bring back Brock McLean and Nathan Carroll to join em. Sometimes past players are past players for a reason.

It might be harmless fun and they are just letting a bit of steam off, blah, blah... but whichever way you look at it, it's bad publicity and could have potentially ended up worse. Could they have found a more public place to get very [censored] and look like idiots, then get evicted? Aren't these guys lectured to by the club over and over that they need to behave when out in public and not put themselves in compromising situations?
