However, the person I was chatting to close to the club was speculating on that last bit, was their view rather than what they knew.

I have been told that Hird has not put pen to paper for his so called contract extension and is now considered unlikely to coach again. Heard from a reliable source close to the club. Unfortunately cannot give name. Source also said that the club is set to "implode".

Would be great if he could prove many on here wrong. Hasn't shown much to indicate he will though. And for those calling him fat, honestly, what a ridiculous comment. Bet you he's in far better shape than 99.9% on here, regardless of being on an AFL list or not. I saw him myself at training and thought he looked ripped. He has a big frame and if he gets up to the required fitness level he might well make an impact next season. Must get km's into his legs, it appears. Problem is, where would he fit in? 4th tall down back? Only depth? We have enough talls up fwd if Dawes, Clark and Hogan are all playing (looking unlikely).

Good thread drdrake. I vote we rotate the 'joke of the day' around the club, like Boof, but its 100 push ups for each one that is not funny. But seriously... good staff, the right staff, will develop the players and the club culture for players to believe in the group. We couldn't have had greater contrast in that then over the last 12 mths. Got to win some more games now.
