Yes he had a knife, and asked the police to shoot him. He was 15, surrounded by trained police pointing guns who used disproportionate force and shot him 7 times. They needed more than mental health training, they needed common sense training. But that's way off track from Campbell Brown....

I'm guessing the parents of the teenage boy that was shot dead surrounded by a ring police at the scate park behind Northcote Plaza in 2008 might disagree. Seven shots fired into him, he didn't have a gun. I'm not supporting Biff's antics, but in a truly healthy society, we should feel it is our right to question the authorities that control us, to ensure accountability. I don't put my life on the line for my job, but it's always good to question and make sure those that do are doing it for the right reasons.

A tagger that can turn around and become an effective attacking player when required is far more valuable than just a tagger. Clint Jones, Carrazzo and Crowley do this. Jordie McKenzie does not.

AFL needs to get into the schools in West Sydney and promote the game at grass roots level. It will take years of pushing the indigenous game before they see any success. If the kids get into it, the parents will follow. The GWS circus hasn't done much to make an impact, been poorly approached so far.

Do you know for a fact that Tappy, Blease or Trenners do not do extra work on top of their Club sessions? I don't, but my guess is most players do extra work, whether it be gym, running, bike, swimmjng, etc. I don't think Mitch would like the implication that others are slack because the gym was empty on a Sat night. Is that your point? No offence, but I just don't get the purpose of this thread.

Tend to agree with you rjay. It was always going to be a hard slog for the AFL in Western Sydney. And they can still achieve a reasonable slice of the market, but have to do it better or they will fail. Will take many years.

I believe Jimmy Magner used to turn up to the club at sparrows f@rt to do early gym sessions. Look where that got him! ;)
