  1. Cheap brain fade hit that barely made contact. He'll get 4-5 weeks. We have enough dumb footballers. No thanks.
  2. Kent has had a kent of a game.
  3. C'MON DEES! BIG EFFORT IN THIS LAST QUARTER!
  4. Hanging tough. Good on you Bernie! Big last quarter dees!
  5. I'd say 5 minimum. Was a huge left hook off the play. Undefendable.
  6. Momentum pointing Adelaide way big time. Glad we are only a few points down at half time. Turnovers are killing us, poor disposal under any pressure. Umpires should wear noise cancelling earphones or simply don an Adelaide jumper, it's so blatantly bad. Need to stop turnovers and convert opportunities, the mo will swing back. Scoreboard pressure is the best pressure.
  7. Steph will be in his ear telling Leuey what a pack of lunch cutters we are.
  8. Interesting article that explores the concept that champions are rarely in the top few draft picks. Examples given are Fyffe, Bomp, Danger, Heppell and Pendles. http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/how-bottom-teams-miss-out-on-the-champions-20150414-1ml542.html Who will be the the next wave from 2014 draft? Nakia Cockatoo?
  9. He was putrid against GWS. Some of his efforts caused mass face palms in the pub where I watched it. He wasn't alone, but certainly typified the day for us.
  10. "Someone disaffected client"? Tsk, tsk, Uncle Bitter.
  11. I think it will be a tight game, maybe about 20 pts in it. IMO we are a more balanced team against Adelaide than GWS, not comparing the two, just think the match ups have more balance. Not going to buy into the defeatist attitude of some, I'm with you on this one Gnasher!
  12. And you need to keep on topic and stop policing. The comments cut both ways. It's totally true that a cut package of clips, while useful, does not show enough information. I like the idea of Roos and assistants going to games with players and giving them tasks, such as analysing set ups, predicting and suggesting next moves, asking them what they would do. Makes perfect sense.
  13. True, and watching the best clubs live (ie, not on TV) certainly leaves our players with a better understanding of the effort required to produce current best football.
  14. It's also worth noting that being at the game and observing tactics, moves, game style, behind play structures, etc is considerably different from watching on TV, where the camera largely follows the ball.
  15. Well put La Dee. Ricky plays with a lot of heart.
  16. I'd like to see one or two from JKH, Toump and Michie come in. One of the talls to be omitted, Dawes, Frost or Garland, though I like Frost's speed. We need speed (not the banned type). Adelaide will run rings around us if we go with the same talls, particularly tall forwards.
  17. What TAFEs? They've gone down the same path as the thylacine, Earl.
  18. I like the theory a lot Chook. The idea of negating what is likely to happen next is certainly what Goodwin should have on his mind, as this will peak under his watch. Would it be fair to say that speed and offence is what's happening next (as we have seen the beginnings of this year). So how do we counter this?
  19. Maybe Wunders, none of those three are renouned for their leg speed, and that's where the game is going, that's one thing we got shown up for on the weekend. We get smashed by fast skilful sides.
  20. Did you get into any fisticuffs with the GWS crowd in the second half Uncle Bitter? You are quite an intimidating character, I wouldn't be surprised if you took them all on in the style of big Mal Brown or Robbie Muir.
  21. Wadda, I think they may have tempered their stance considerably since the win over Hawthorn and near beating of the Swans last week. Amazing what a bit of success does to help supporters put the bad experiences behind them.
  22. Drowned his sorrows perhaps in a barrelful of shiraz
  23. Good thread topic undeeterred. Whilst the season is still young, it certainly does appear that the fast, offensive midfielder has become super important. This may well become an increasing recruit/draft priority for Roos and Goodwin. But... we also need to have a ruck that can hit to advantage occasionally and be useful around the ground more than Jamar, Gawn and Spencil are. Mummy was amazing today, and his service at stoppages turned the game imo. He showed how valuable a winning ruckman can be to a team.
