Meanwhile, an afl tweet from Peter Ryan says Motlop was suspended for rd 2 after he was sledged by Hawk players during Sunday's game for getting on the turps in Colac on Good Friday.
-
As opposed to our three injury prone rucks? But I get your point...
-
Dc, your obviously a ware that you're post quotes nut bean, knot mine, so im not sure weather your talking to me or nut bean, PS. You forgot a comma and a full stop in you're post, not to mention a capital M.
-
Only your first sentence is correct akum. After reading the article it is clear that in reference to the sledging they were referring to Mitch's depression, hence the terms used: depression, illness and "in the right head space". Did they say on TFS or was it reported in the afl article that Mitch was sledged because of alleged indescretions at former clubs, for using our training facilities before leaving the club or for dissing the no 11 jumper as some have alluded to here? No, we have made that up here on Land. Now, none of us are privy to what was actually said on the field, but the best estimation from that storm in a teacup afl article and that rubbish of a TV show is that they believe Mitch was sledged about his depression.
-
Really? Did you read it dc? Here's a bit from it: "Selwood said Clark was as prepared as possible for the comments that would come his way relating to his well-known battle with clinical depression. "Personally, I wouldn't be going out there and saying it but if people choose to do it then he's ready for it. "We're playing a team (Hawthorn) that is ruthless, that are the best team in the league at the moment. You probably expect it to come." " "Hawthorn defender Josh Gibson said it was the first he had heard of the incident. "It's an illness so I don't know if we should be going there," Gibson told Channel Nine."

Weak effort by Malckeski there. Looked like he wasn't interested in getting in Hogan's way!

Agree it's time to move on, but perhaps he was not referring to Mitch's depression but things that happened whist at previous club/s. Can't believe I'm defending that FW Sam Newman. Actually, forget it. Time to move on, as you said.

Are we seeing Geelongs culture crumbling?
Moonshadow replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
As someone who follows football, I'd have thought you would have known that Mad Monday is a celebration after the last game that EACH team plays for the season, not just after a GF. Bomber was coach during 10 years of Mad Monday's at Geelong and if you don't know already, some of those set very high benchmarks for stupid player behaviour. To summarise my POV, I believe Bomber was a very good coach who helped create a very good leadership, which Scott has continued. Geelong, like all clubs, have always had player incidents. They are still a very good side and those that think they are on the slide are experiencing wishful thinking. That's it for me Ding-a-ling. Over and out. -
Petty, but I like it!

Once again, you're name calling and insulting is boring.

Likewise. Thought you had me on ignore. Please do.

Incorrect. As mentioned earlier, it also happened under Bomber's watch, regularly, including permitting reckless mad Monday incidents, which Scott largely cleaned up. And the circumstance in which Bomber left was a great act of culture, wasn't it? Scott won a flag with Geelong despit the mess Bomber left behind. He's no run of the mill coach. You have proven you know little about football if this is your line of thought. Next. -
Stop drinking please. Or drink more....

That's rubbish Ding a Ling. Stop making crap up, use balance and reason (er... I just realised this is an online forum, so forget that bit). So you are saying Bomber was a great coach and Scott is not? I fear your rash judgment will come back to haunt you at the end of the season. -
Are we seeing Geelongs culture crumbling?
Moonshadow replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Maybe. Too early perhaps. I have them in my top 4. If you think we will overtake them in the near future then I think you may be underestimating their list and over inflating ours. I think their culture is very strong and experienced. Sorry to rain on your parade Dazz. We differ in opinion this time. -

Let's not count our chickens just yet. Geelong have had 'incidents' for many years. Remember Stevie J getting a boot up the rrse in 2007(?) for f'ing up just before their run of flags? Was exactly what he needed. That Geelong can show the balls to discipline one of their better players speaks volumes. They will be top four this year while we will probably still be bottom four. Reality bus (urghh...) -
