I always thought $cully leaving was more to do with SC relief for GWS than the trade deal

Wise, a "hypothetical" is much the same as "considering", which is what I wrote. I'm not sure the club wanted to support Hogan any further. If the numerous reports circulating are true, our club was instrumental in moving him on and not unhappy with the so-called 'unders' we got in the trade, ie, one 1st rounder. I hope he gets back on track, as any normal human would hope. Mental health and addiction are big issues in society. But I do not know him or his family, so forgive me if i care little, particularly of his thoughts on our club. We would benefit from being more foccussed on the MFC moving on. I'm pleased that another club must deal with Hogan's issues and congratulate Mahoney and co who orchestrated the trade.

What? People are considering Hogan be traded back to us??? Are you people mad. Both sides have made their decisions. Let us dry our eyes and get over it. Much bigger fish to fry.

If we think that's bad, Essendrug played Joe Daniher 3 times in 11 days early last year. He missed the rest of the season with OP. Has a history of it. Idiots.

Sliding doors on AFL site:

Once Tom Lynch finds his mojo he will be a super star. That is, assuming he can stay on the park

Thanks for that Jezza

Jeez, as bad as Carlton look, the umps have been very generous to Richmond

Highly doubt Preuss will play. Weid will give Gawn a chop out.

True, but some drugs are far more addictive than alcohol. However, not trying to diminish the damage alcohol has done to many in society

Unless you are a football insider, it's impossible to say it was "fine" for 43. You don't think Watts partied with teammates when at MFC? I'm happy with the culture driven push the club now has. I'm not confident it was like that in the past, but I don't know any inside intel.

Might have to sneak in a hip flask, Bitters??

More technology that will only make human judgements harder to understand

Luce, none of us really know what it is like inside the MFC or AFL bubble (except Saty), so it's quite possible we share some responsibility for Hogan's current situation. I actually respect Niall's journalism and know he's well connected. He didn't claim our environment caused the problems, he wrote "if", which means that it's possible, which it is. Arguably, the same could be said for Liam Jurrah, who supposedly didn't drink before he came to our footy club. The AFL industry is littered with unfulfilled talent. The stiffs here will shout "personal responsibility!", but I've known a couple of AFL/VFL players in the past who got scant support from their club or the industry. The point of the article is that Freo has a major problem recruiting star players with issues outside of football, and there is a reason we were prepared to trade a player of Hogan's rare quality. That's a fair call.

He started in red, blue and yellow

Felt oddly weird seeing Pert in demons colours

@Demonland is there a chance we can have individual posts that quote posters we have on ignore also ignored? Apologies for the thread sidetrack, but I found it particulary frustrating on this thread

Think they may do something to show respect re the killings in NZ. A number of other sporting codes have had min silence or black arm bands or similar

And win a Norm Smith.....

I won't be holding my breath on this, but if Jeffy Garlett was to get his head right and knuckle down, he could have a 50 goal season. Has the ability to do the unbelievable, but goes missing way too often

You've painted a frightful vision Wise ?

Resurrected again. After all, it's nearly Easter...

If you think swapping clubs is the reason for Hogan having anxiety, then you really have no idea about mental health.
