  1. To put it bluntly playing at Casey last year he ran more kilometres than the Leyland brothers on a trip around Australia running from the forward to the backline and back no wonder Casey struggled in games, the kids got great aggression and a football brain I hope Chaplin can get him to the next level.
  2. Jason Dunstall was also a leading forward type player.
  3. Thanks, there will quite a few times in a game where bombing it in is the only option but as long as the small forwards are front and centre or back of the pack and centre that's pleasing.
  4. Do they practice much with a completely crowded forward line, and how is it working out if they do?
  5. There is an art to forward craft that's takes a while to learn, but from what's reported Chaplin is working well and with a gameplan change it will make his job easier, I have advocated for a seasoned coach so give him a chance.
  6. The gameplan will be the key to the puzzle and if they hold their nerve with it.
  7. Well, if Windsor did play play off, H/B May and co. need to get the ball back in a lot quicker than they have been in the past and know where he is instantly.
  8. Then surely he will get junior.
  9. A lot of the time no one is running past him for him to do that..
  10. 20 minutes ago, von said: I think they have pretty well-defined roles, especially within our powerhouse, all-team defensive structure that has been the industry standard for years. I imagine it depends on the team we are playing and the game's state, and I also imagine each midfielder has different instructions regarding such things. It seems to me that even when we are in an all-out attack, there is a lot of structure and discipline around remaining defensively sound and in the correct formation. "Defense first" has been a team mantra for many years. Yes, I agree. What I was saying is that Oliver has some deficiencies and could be a more dangerous player if he moved forward as a midfielder more often when the opportunities arise. The game plan we played certainly didn't help that, but you made some good points; a pity the conversation got derailed in the first place.
  11. Now that's an interesting one about Bowser.
  12. So you only want people who agree with the minions view well I ain't one of those so bad luck if people respond I will answer full stop so maybe don't reply.
  13. When running forward with the play yes or do you think they just run with their opponent? When they haven't got the ball they man up to stop the flow.
  14. Well one I'm allowed to have a view whether you agree with it or not and two couldn't care less about what you eat, it's very simple don't reply and don't read the posts but you do...
  15. I'm not the who implied what his role was. Yes, I am making observations and opinions, and people can disagree with me, and that's ok, so you think he's a complete footballer and doesn't need to improve?
  16. Try and keep up where did I imply taking away his strengths I talk about improving his game why is that a problem, why do people want to put him in a box and that's all he can do.
  17. I'm not the one who claimed that running forward is not his role you did, I am only suggesting he can do better as a footballer.
  18. So your observations are not facts, thanks.
  19. Oh if that's the case why has he kicked 54 goals, and you know this how please tell.
  20. Rubbish that’s a midfielders role to impact games, the game has changed and will change again if you think that's his only role in the team well good for you.
  21. Every footballer has deficiencies no one is perfect but are you saying that Oliver cannot improve on his to make himself a better player!
  22. Are they trying to keep a tall staying within the 25 metres mark?
