They were horrendous. 1987 Preliminary Final was a nightmare. But the team would have got thrashed by Carlton the following week even had we won. 5. I loved the Johnny Northey era. He got the "us against them" mentality working beautifully. So many battlers did so well under his tutelage, e.g Jamie Duursma, Doug Koop, Dean Chiron.

There was not one second during that match that I thought Melbourne would win. Poor teams inevitably find a way to lose.

If Bail and M. Jones are the only choices for 21 & 22, it might be better to play 2 short.

Totally agree. That's why I get so annoyed when the coach talks about a lack of effort on the part of the players. Most of them are ridiculously overpaid. It's a shame the Club has to pay up to the cap, and the players cant be paid on a performance basis.
