  3. This from Lemmingmaster on Big Footy: Nathan Stark - Glenelg / 180 / 71 Meat and potatoes styled player here, that with a little bulk on his light frame, I think could be a solid citizen. Not sure he is the most athletic player going around, he is certainly not the biggest player going around, but he will be found at the bottom of packs. The modern game is back to a game of contested style and I think Stark will excel that this style of game. He was listed at around 176cm for a while there, but having noticed that he is now 180cm, I have hope he may find a place on a list. If you add some bulk onto his frame, then his game style will be even more damaging. Has a very solid handball, makes good decisions in traffic. Has the ability to draw a free kick as his head is always over the ball. His kicking is not a strong point, does not seem to have penetration, but I think he has enough tools to make it on a list. Maybe Stark can be a poor mans Viney.
  4. I wouldn't be too worried about GWS picking Hannath before we get a chance. They currently have Dean Robertson, a 199cm ruckman from North Ballarat Rebels, on their permission to train list. Seems as though he is their preferred ruckman if they choose to take one in the PSD or RD.
  5. Yes, he is fast becoming the John Farnham of the AFL.
  6. Garlett to train with Essendon as of next week. http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/151773/default.aspx
  7. Jack Hannath would be my guess.. http://www.afl.com.a...90/default.aspx http://www.heraldsun...r-1226520107367
  8. This from Neeld on the MFC website today: "We’ll take a bit of a deep breath and have a look at a couple of younger types who perhaps need to come into the system for a couple of years, before they’re ready to play League footy. We think there are a number of players who will add that to the rookie list" http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/7415/newsid/151628/default.aspx
  9. Out of interest, is his surname pronounced 'Tumpas' or Toompas' ? Gloating at work so just want to make sure I'm saying the kid's name properly!
  10. Great Ben's think alike. Most players in identical positions with Strauss and Rodan the only differences in the 22. I was tossing up whether to have Rodan in there at the expense of Strauss as well. Agree with your fringe players, in particular really looking forward to seeing how Tynan, Taggert and Evans go next year.

  13. How fortunate both the MFC and Essendon are to have snared such gun father/son picks. Realistically they would have both been top 5 picks in this years draft. Encouraging to hear that Toumpas is of the same ilk and could very well become a Demon by tomorrow night.
  14. driv·el/ˈdrivəl/ Noun: Silly nonsense: "don't talk such drivel!". Verb: Talk nonsense: "he was driveling on about the glory days". Synonyms: noun. nonsense - slobber - slaver - piffle verb. drool - dribble - slobber
  15. If Tapscott could be half the player that Jones was this year then that would be a huge win for the dees. I reckon Tappy has shown a lot of promise in the early part of his career and just needs to string a few games together this year and get more of the pill.
  16. All the best for the future Clint. You gave your all for the MFC. Unfortunate that your AFL career had to end in these circumstances. Here's a link for those who haven't paid hard earned money to read the herald sun online: Bartram retires at just 24
  17. 4 spots left if you haven't included Viney, 3 spots left with Viney included.
  18. 4 pages so far and I can count the amount of posts about the actual training session on one hand. Standard.
  19. Some pics from today's training session including Viney, Byrnes and Rodan: http://www.afl.com.au/Galleries/tabid/16430/GalleryId/2814/Default.aspx
  20. There is very little chance of this happening but stranger things have happened in football, that's for sure. I think realistically we will win 6 - 8 games and finish 14th ahead of GWS, GC, Port and the Doggies. Will be very happy to be proven wrong though!
