  1. Emma Quayle has just released her first round predictions and has McCartin going to the Saints at number 1. She has Dees picking Brayshaw at 2 and Petracca at 3. She is usually spot on so close to the draft.
  2. McKenzie more likely to still be there though. Would be very surprised if McDonald gets through to the 30's, let alone pick 40.
  3. 2. Christian Petracca 3. Angus Brayshaw 40. Reece McKenzie 53. Dean Gore That would be magic.
  4. Yeah, ok then.
  5. Going to be cryptic or who do you THINK we will take?
  6. Brayshaw and Lever you say? I think not.
  7. I reckon Mellington will still be available in the rookie draft and yes I agree he would be a good pick.
  8. Toby McLean and Damien Cavka are two others that I would be happy with at this pick if they are still available. Phantom drafts have them anywhere from in the 20's to the 40's.
  9. Nathan Drummond would be my first choice at this pick. Wouldn't be disappointed if we chose Matthew Panos either. I reckon Billy Evans will last until the rookie draft and would be a great choice there. Peter Bampton and Tom Wilkinson are two others that I would be happy with at pick 53 although Bampton will probably be gone by then.
  10. Would like to see us take the best available inside mid with this pick. Dean Gore would be the best option if still available, otherwise Touk Miller would be the next best option if he's still there. If neither of those guys are available then I would go for Peter Bampton who should still be there at pick 40.
  11. Came here to read about the boys at training but instead read a couple of pages of elderly folk talking about their first cars. Well I feel a bit left out so what the heck.. 92 Mitsubishi Magna was my first ride. Ah it was a gem.. The real selling point was that it was converted to gas but I later found out that it was not converted properly which meant my precious first car was an absolute lemon. The very first day I got it I managed to run it straight into the back of my mates car who slammed on the brakes to stop for a rabbit. A god damned rabbit. Ah the good old days..
  12. I really think we need mids and small forwards. Happy to take a punt on a ruckman and rebounding defender in the rookie draft too. Here are my picks: 1. Steele Sidebottom 17. Dayne Beams 19. Daniel Hannebery 35. Rory Sloane 51. Michael Walters 64. Tom Rockliff PSD1: Luke Breust RD1: Jarryd Blair RD17: Sam Jacobs RD33: Matthew Suckling I would be stoked if we got these players!
  13. 'rjay', who would you suggest is the player most similar to Dangerfield in this year's draft?
  14. Farewell Pickles and good luck. Welcome to the MFC pick 53.
  15. Schroder was delisted by Geelong in October. I have quite a few mates that barrack for Geelong and most of them rate Schroder highly and were disappointed to see him leave. They are mostly of the opinion that he was squeezed out of the club due to lack of opportunity, not lack of talent. I have seen him play a couple of AFL games and liked what I saw. He's a 21 year old strong, big bodied midfielder who can also hit the scoreboard. Worth a look in the rookie draft? http://www.afl.com.au/news/2014-11-13/brick-keen-to-keep-building
  16. His draft combine results are superb. 5th in the 3km time trial, 3rd in the beep test, equal 4th in the kicking test, equal 1st in the clean hands test, equal 3rd in the goalkicking test, equal 8th in the 20m sprints, 2nd in the repeat sprints, equal 2nd in the standing vertical jump and 5th in the running vertical jump. Whether that equates to him being a successful player at the highest level is another thing but my goodness those results are impressive.
  17. Thanks heaps for the inside scoop, greatly appreciated. So based on this it would appear that at the moment we have narrowed picks 2 and 3 down to 6 players; Petracca, Brayshaw, Lever, De Goey, McCartin and Cockatoo. Come on recruiting team, nail these two picks!
  18. Well if the club has said that they will not be passing on Brayshaw then they might as well have said that they aren't going to be taking 2 talls.
  19. No. It's an absolute guarantee and has been highly publicised that we will take Brayshaw or possibly Petracca if he's still available with either pick 2 or 3. We may take one mid and one KPF or possibly two mids but definitely not two KPF's
  20. Welcome to the MFC, Ben! I know it's only the SANFL and it's a big step up to the AFL but I liked what I found on the Port Adelaide Magpies website about Newton's 2014. "Ben Newton finished second in the best and fairest count after polling in 16 of 21 games throughout the season, including five best-on-ground performances. Newton was also awarded the club's prestigious Fos Williams Memorial Award as the team's most dedicated player."
  21. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2014-10-31/dees-cut-another-top-pick MELBOURNE has kept the option open of re-selecting Luke Tapscott in December's rookie draft after it delisted the 23-year-old on Friday.
  22. Showed promise in his first couple of games and that's about it. Played 48 games and accumulated 20 or more touches only once. Just couldn't find the footy. Good luck to Tappy for the future.
  23. Double games against GWS, Bulldogs, Saints, Pies and Freo. Happy with that. Only one of those teams will be playing finals next year. 13 games at the MCG is a big tick as well. Just 3 games at Etihad isn't too bad. Hopefully we can have the round 23 clash against GWS moved to the G. We have plenty of time to get it organised. A Friday night game! Get all of your asses to there so we can have more of them in the future. I can understand that the majority of our home games won't draw big crowds so from a financial point of view our fixture isn't good which is a shame. Our fixture could obviously be better but overall I don't mind it.
  24. Whinge whinge. Because we played so well against the Cats at the MCG this year didn't we?
