  1. I'd also like to know the answer to your second question. I assume that we would have given up our rights to him by passing on him this year, but am not positive. Either way, it's unlikely that clubs will be lining up for him in 2016 if he can't even get a rookie spot this year.
  2. It took his Dad a while to come good, didn't it? Perhaps Jake is also a late bloomer.
  3. The MFC really should take those down...
  4. Interesting. Glad we're committed to re-drafting him as a rookie. I suppose this is effectively confirms that Terlich will remain on the list for 2016.
  5. Hunt was likely given another year due to the fact that a) he showed some decent form towards the end of the season in the VFL and b) his first two seasons were largely interrupted by injury. Also keep in mind that he has shown that he had the ability to match it with the top performers in his draft in his younger years but fell behind when they all grew and he didn't. Now that he's starting to put on some size, I'm more than happy for the club to give him another season to prove himself.
  6. Thankfully, this time it seems to be being done right.
  7. It's absolutely insane. It's at the point where it's evident that they don't even have any human decency.
  8. Carlton need a key back just as much, if not more, than they need a key forward. They won't pass on Weitering. Their list is in too bad of a shape for them to not be taking the best available.
  9. It's an absolute disgrace that Essendon is unwilling to provide confirmation to its players as to what they were injected with. I understand the need for Essendon to try and keep this information secret due to the charges they are facing, but surely it is a player's right to know what the club has put in their body. If they have learned anything at all from this saga, surely it is that player safety needs to come before the club. Unfortunately, it seems that isn't the case.
  10. Maybe Moore, Townsend and Yarran will be the missing pieces that make them a genuine contender...
  11. Thanks to all for the great reports and photos. Vanders is looking much more cut than he was last year, and I'm very happy to hear about Petracca's progress.
  12. Morton, Sylvia, Gysberts, Tapscott, Blease...the list goes on. Good thing I'm not a scout.
  13. Could have more to do with bad associations that superstition. He's had a serious injury as #26, so perhaps he feels changing his number is good step for mentally getting over it. Not saying that I agree with the superstition, but I can understand why he'd want to change it. 5 is also a way better number than 26.
  14. The purpose is to stop posters from re-writing history. Some posters seem to remember Saty as an innocent injured puppy that was mistreated and abused despite never having bitten anyone. He opened himself up to criticism with the way that he interacted with others, and I have no qualms about reminding others of this. Like I said, I appreciated the effort he made to get to most trainings and report on them, however I couldn't stand the constant sniping and condescending responses to posters that had different views than his own.
  15. Fair, it may not be an indictment on their list building strategy, but it's an indictment on them as a club. They should be in a position now where they're viewed as a "destination club" that players like Treloar, Motlop and Bennell want to get to. I don't know what exactly it is that they need to do to get good players to want to play for them, whether it be offering them more money or longer contracts, but it's something they need to figure out quickly if they're ever going to contend for a premiership with their current core. The way I see it, they're topping up with players that will enable them to be competitive without ever actually being a legitimate premiership threat. They're treading water and I'm quite certain that unless they can find a way to lure some gun players to top off their list, they'll be rebuilding before they're hoisting a cup.
  16. I can't see Richmond being a premiership team with their current list-building strategy. They're finishing high enough that they aren't getting high draft picks, they're not trading in or signing any gun players, and the players that they have added struggle to have an impact at AFL level. I think they'll be competitive for a few more years until Riewoldt/Deledio/Maric start to drop off, but I would bet that they won't win a flag unless something radically changes with their list. I feel bad for them, as I think their supporters deserve some success almost as much as we do. I also like Damien Hardwick as he's previously stuck up for us when the media have bashed us.
  17. The Tigers continuing their strategy of hoping that other clubs' rejects will take them to the next level.
  18. Why not?
  19. In all seriousness, though, the point I was trying to make was that he didn't respect other Demonlanders' reports, yet people on her complain when people are disrespectful towards him. There's a reason that he gets as much crap as he does.
  20. What would you know?
  21. It's a two way street, KDA. I never bothered picking apart his reports and very rarely engaged with him at all. That being said, it drove me absolutely nuts when ANYONE else would post a report and Saty would pick it apart, contradict FACTS and just try and make it seem like he knew more than anyone else. One example comes to mind, where a poster did a training report and mentioned that Dawes did a bit of training with the rucks. Saty said that Dawes definitely did not train with the rucks, even though this poster said that they were training directly in front of him. This poster reiterated that he was absolutely certain of what he saw, and that caused Saty to become very rude and condescending. Next match, lo and behold, Dawes had several stints in the ruck.
  22. It was a great year to be a Dees supporter, especially after what we dished out in '97. I'll never forget how good it felt smashing Adelaide in that first week of finals. Should've been our year...
  23. I don't think Jordie ever stopped giving anything less than his best when he was with the MFC. I think that by no fault of his own, he just simply wasn't good enough.
  24. He sounds like a very interesting prospect. Much like Lever & Stringer in recent years. He's been featured the last couple of days in Going Places (part II)on the AFL site. I'm not sure we'll use a top 10 pick on him as it does sound like there are still some lingering effects from what was a very serious injury. Wouldn't be disappointed if the doctors and scouts did deem him fit enough and good enough for out #7, but I think it's unlikely.
  25. Would rather see it in red and blue.
