  1. I remember that game so clearly. 3 point winners in an absolute thriller.
  2. At the moment I'm in the States, but I've spent time in Canada and the UK as well. How about you?
  3. They do help us international supporters stay in touch with the Dees in the offseason. I'm looking forward to training starting up so that I've got something to do while I'm at work!
  4. Strongly disagree with this. I appreciated his training reports and enjoyed reading them, but he often sought out arguments and was very hostile towards people with different opinions than his own. I'm sure he'll be back once preseason training starts as he seems to think he's God's gift to Demonland around that time of year.
  5. This thread is bringing back fantastic memories for me. Farmer, Schwarz, Lyon, Jakovich, Neitz, Robertson were all incredibly gifted players. I can't wait until we have a forward line that can compare to '94, '98 and '00.
  6. I agree that everyone is capable of bulking up, but some find it MUCH harder than others. It is also quite hard for some footballers to maintain the weight that they do put on as once they begin running they shed it off more easily than others. Most footballers nowadays have larger frames that are more suited to carrying muscle, but there are some players that are not built in a way that they are able to pack it on (think Garlett).
  7. That's the end of that. Matt Harvey pitched a gem for the Mets and convinced his way into pitching the 9th inning only to be pulled after allowing two base runners, who would eventually score the tying runs. KC was by far the best team in the playoffs and a deserving champion.
  8. Sydney have the benefit of a lot of young-gun academy recruits coming into their team to further boost their already strong list. While I agree that the Buddy-Tippett signings will make it hard for them to fit everyone into their salary cap, they've so far managed to retain everyone that they want (bar Jetta), and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them become a force again in the not so distant future.
  9. I may be alone here, but I much prefer sitting higher up rather than in the lower deck. It's easier to see the play unfolding as well as what's happening on the other side of the ground.
  10. Fitzpatrick Gysberts Tapscott Taggert Toumpas and Morton on the wings.
  11. He has played up there in the past. Not really the point of the post, though. We don't need any more small forwards at the moment.
  12. Hard to see them passing on Weitering, who looks like an absolute gun, but stranger things have happened. Brisbane desperately need Schache...a good young player that wants to play for them.
  13. Well, it's now 3-1 for KC, with every game do or die for the Mets. I really hope they can at least make things interesting by winning the next one.
  14. I really don't think that's a position that we need to address at the moment. We've got Garlett, Kent, Kennedy, JKH, Bugg and even ANB as options to play there. I'd much rather we went for more mids or even a speculative KPP.
  15. I thought that we were about due for a new Jack Watts thread! Watts is absolutely in my best 22. I'd have him rotating from the wing through the forward line as a third tall option.
  16. The draft experts' order always shuffles around a bit before the draft, with the last week in the lead-up usually yielding fairly accurate predictions. Last year Petracca was #1 right up until the 11th hour when McCartin suddenly took his place. I think we'll see the "experts" change their predictions a few times yet.
  17. Wouldn't be opposed to adding a ruckman like Gorringe as a rookie purely as a backup option, but I wouldn't like to see him take a spot on the primary list.
  18. Up 2-1 in the 5th now. They're looking good, although KC just went to their bullpen, which means that they're unlikely to score any more runs. They'll have to hold off the Royals offence in order to win it. Come on, New York!
  19. As do I, but I highly doubt that it will be Matt Jones.
  20. He was a key part of our win in Geelong this year. He's definitely ahead of Terlich.
  21. As long as Parish is willing to learn, he will be able to become good defensively. It's all about applying yourself, and that's something that the players that you mentioned failed to do.
  22. At this stage we've only got pick 46, barring any further delistings. As much as I would like to see Terlich given the chop, I can't see it happening this year due to the mistrust is would generate from the players after delisting [a contracted] Michael Evans last year. By the looks of it, Michie also remains contracted.
  23. Wow...looks very impressive. Decent overhead mark as well, by the looks of it.
