  1. It's funny...I thought that Oliver was one name that Demonland would be unable to screw up. It seems as though the misspelling of his name in the thread title has gone undetected for nearly a month and a half.
  2. You're not, but I'm certain that the club has done its due diligence and won't draft him if they believe that the risk is too great.
  3. I really hope that this is how it turns out. I understand the argument of drafting the "best available", however given that Essendon has similar needs to us and will have two shots before we get our second, strategy has to come into play.
  4. Massive Leafs fan. I've been very impressed with them this year and what Mike Babcock has managed to achieve in such a short period of time. They're finally playing as a team, and are seeing the benefits of it. Nylander looks the goods...his hands are unbelievably quick. I don't think playoffs are in the equation this year, but it's nice to see competitive efforts, and for once having a few decent prospects. I can't recall the last good player that the Leafs drafted and developed. Nice to have a fellow Leafs fan around!
  5. I actually think it's one of his better ones. If you've got your driver's license, you've got a responsibility to not put others in danger by consuming too much alcohol and then getting behind the wheel. If you're heading out and plan on drinking, don't drive. If you end up drinking too much when you're out and you have your car with you, take a taxi, call a friend/family member for a ride, or stay at a friend's place. I've had too many drinks on many occasions, but I have never and will never drive drunk.
  6. I seem to remember that the only major knock on him was that he wasn't able to accumulate enough possessions. He managed to fix that, too. He's probably my favourite non-Demon to watch...absolute freak.
  7. There's nothing quite like ridiculing others five years after the fact
  8. If I were Jason Taylor I'd select Weideman at #3, then the best mid available at #7. Fortunately for everybody I'm not, so I'll just sit back and be happy with whoever we end up with.
  9. Nope, wasn't comparing Parish and Toumpas...just a bit of a tongue in cheek comment.
  10. Can't remember who coined the term, but he's our baby-faced assassin.
  11. It's especially good for our stability, considering the ^$%^ that was being published earlier in the year about Bartlett and Jackson being at odds over contract terms, and Bartlett making a play for Brian Cook. Thank Christ it's all been resolved.
  12. Ha! Three of us posted this within a minute. You got in first, DD.
  13. Jackson extends until the end of 2017 This is fantastic news for the club. The work he has done to get us back on track cannot be overstated.
  14. The fact that he comes from Collingwood royalty yet didn't support them growing up tells me all I need to know about his character.
  15. I can't see why we'd offer up this information to them. Sure, there's no harm in it, but it's better to see them sweat on who we're going to take. They're not exactly a club that have earned goodwill.
  16. Not to take anything away from Brayshaw, but I think Salem is just as much of a complete footballer. We're lucky to have them both.
  17. Would this qualify as draft tampering? Or perhaps just "bringing the game into disrepute"?
  18. I think you're memory is letting you down, Song. This time last year, we thought we were going to be getting McCartin & Brayshaw. Petracca was the consensus number 1 right up until the eve of the draft. I do agree that all of the possible permutations are hard to keep track of, and I'm just looking forward to it all being over and knowing who we've got.
  19. He should be back with the rest of the senior boys on Monday. My guess is that he'll be working with the rehab group for a while, but that is purely speculation.
  20. Very sad news; only 40, too. He was one of the best athletes I've ever seen. RIP
  21. Looks like we're trying to replicate the Hawks recent success with a ThreePete of our own. Well done to all involved, and thanks for giving your spare time to the club.
