No one knows how the players feel inside about the losses nor do we know what is being said to them by opposition on the ground that may ellicit a smile. A lot of these footballers have been team-mates on overseas trips, TAC or even traded/dumped from the club originally - they wish each well and have a 1 minute catch up. Five years ago - well played. Now if you chose to bump instead of tackle and cause injury gonski - 6 weeks. The recklessness is not in the bump itself which I thought was elbow tucked and well delivered - the recklessness is in the choice to bump instead of tackle.

From the first game this year - too many players being drawn right into the contest - when we did win the contested ball ( and the percentage of ball we win contested vs uncontested is abnormally high) there is no one to give it out to.

Jones is not particularly quick but what you have said is key - anticipation means you are already moving to position and he did indeed hit the contests at pace. He has come on in leaps and bounds.

both Bails and Danners had very dry senses of humour and very funny. I vividly remember when danners was asked about decisions given against Farmer by the umpire and he said he cant say anything due to fines that could be levied. Farmer had given the umpires a massive spray. He was then asked what he said to Farmer and danners replied - Jeff was telling the umpires what they were doing and i told Jeff " dont you think three field umpires is more than enough ?"

I keep banging on about the jury being out because i see something in Cale and i dont crucify players that have just hit 22 as Cale has. I still have a little patience left for Cale

I am in the "jury's still out" camp on Cale and am hoping that Neeld can bring something out in him that has undeniably been missing since his first season. Even in his first games this year where he hasnt been fantastic he shows he has the ability to spread - something that has been some obviously missing from the team. Our % of contested footy overall is very high. We are not getting enough footy outside - enough uncontested footy and this is Cales strength.

You will generally find that well argued and well reasoned opinions will get the respect they deserve and will evoke healthy debate. You can make the argument - " I prefer an invisible coach who is concentrating soley on football. Let the media be damned and say what they want to say- we dont need to trot out our coach or players to defend or explain. Our actions needs to be counted not words". That would get healthy agrees and disagrees. Sorry but "Neeld likes the sound of his own voice" is personal in itself and got what it deserved.
