Maybe a little research into what the injuries are before going down the NQR road.

What a nonsense - there a lots of other clubs that have their home at the G . The MFC offer lots of different levels of memberships and "clubs and rooms " like the redlegs etc with different levels of facilities that has nothing to do with the MCC. I would suggest that our attachment to the MCC plays zero part in influencing or attracting new membership.

I will not criticise the OP but conversely I wont put the knock on Jonesy either as I think the problem is structural. I agree that Chunk doesnt get the ball out because I am not sure I see a person to dish the ball out to. Against the Lions we were smashed in the clearances - they had Black who was in and under but everytime Black got the ball there seemed to be a player 5 metres off the pack in space to dish to. In the clearances I see all our players too close to the action. One needs to drop off the back or side to get a handball receive. We are cellar dwellers in handball receives and that is a big part of Jones problem - who the hell can he give it to ?

This didnt cost us the game. In the post match thread apparently Jack Watts cost us the match.

from 2007 Melbourne 22% Essendon 14% Collingwood 12% Carlton 9% Hawthorn 8% Richmond 8% Geelong 8% Other 20%

Watts cost us the game today - damn - i knew there was a reason.

you know this how ?

I hate those type of generalisations. And to the poster who said the biggest amount of MCC members were Collingwood supporters - nonsense - they cant afford the membership price.

My two thoughts from yesterdays game. 1/ our disposal was poor HOWEVER the biggest issue was 2/ Uncontested footy - the first goal to the dogs was a perfect example of what we are yet to do and I hope the coaching staff use it as an example. I am not sure who flicked the ball out but as soon as the doggie player half looked like he was going to get the pill Ryan Griffin ran AWAY from the contest at a million miles an hour. The Dogs player did get the ball and Griffin was miles in the clear to accept an easy receive. We seem to lack a bit of confidence that we will get the ball and when we do we have no players breaking into space. It did happen for a period in the 3rd quarter and we looked a lot better. We need confidence that our team mates (when they are in a good position) will win the ball and then spread quickly.

Every sports betting agency had the dogs easily as favourites as did most of the experts. I always believe we can win every game however I was under no illusion as to where we sit.

That ageing has-been is a brilliant footballer who was stunning in the first half yesterday. He was all australian for a reason last season. (just thought I'd correct you on this one)

I dont give a rats about media either. I want teams to perceive us hard and the only way to be thought hard is to be hard which we are not You dont think clubs buy other clubs "culture" or tag ?- even in their dark days nobody won down at Kardinia park because Geelong was too hard to beat down there. There can be over confidence but I think since the Bailey days teams know we will crumble. I would prefer to go into a game knowing we will win as opposed to having doubts.I dont think teams doubt that they will beat us.

You dont think MFC are perceived as soft over the last years ? I dont give a hoot for the perception of our supporters - thats a nonsense - I am talking about how the team has been viewed. Even when north has been beaten they have usually had a culture of giving it a shot.( there are games that exceptions). Even Richo always considered us easy even though we dont have a bad record against the Tigers. I am convinced that for the last 5 years opposition players have thought of us easy. Edit - when North has failed the comment thrown at them has been that they might not have the talent. The comments about us has not been about the talent but the heart and effort

This is where I am at. I continually marvel at the Roo's that play with an identifiable Shinboner spirit (most of the time). Over the journey clubs have been identified with something. Cats for a long time were identified as handbaggers and worked hard to overcome that tag.The longest tag in footy history - Colliwobbles. I want us to be "labelled". I fear at this stage we already are and not a label that I am proud of.

If I can add my two cents - I guess its how information on this site is presented. I have been known to stick my head in the sand but I don't disrespect opinions contrary to my viewpoint. I have real problems with opinion being presented as fact.

I think that mrp looks at a game in slow motion that is played at a frenetic pace

With the first tackle - i dont think it was the sling - it was over the boundary line - but I wonder if Grimes had awareness of where he was ?

Why the heck did we recruit Brian Royal back!?

Bartlett thought he was mad. I respect Balmes opinion purely because Bartlett thought the opposite of Balmes opinion

Neil Balme was talking with that annoying little git KB on SEN this morning about this very topic Now we may want to temper this with the thought that Balme may not want to talk up even further a highly regarding recruiting manager in Steven Wells however for what it is worth this was his comments . "" there are no such thing as geniuses in recruiting - it is all about the programs"" He was almost dismissive of recruiting stating that these guys are so young with so little known about them and how they will turn out that judgements can only be made retrospectively and he was a bit scathing of retrospective recruiting They then played Brad Scott commenting on the Cats and he said Geelong were the blue print for recruiting and development coaches. Balme chose to ignore Scotts comment on recruiting and said "see Scott acknowledged developement coaches - its all about our programs" These were Balmes comments for what its worth

I am not sure that we could pay him substantially more than StKilda. My guess is that if he is leaving for money he will go north otherwise he will stay at the Saints
