  1. I love his toughness and hardness but i want to see it directed and taking someone over the boundary line will end up one way - suspension - sorry but its dumb. I was less upset with the fasolo one. On a general note - i like it that we have someone that makes opposition look over the shoulders - i just dont want them to have to look in the stands to see him
  2. should have been three - Jamar should have used his body on another good kick to advantage from Blease ( or maybe i am not giving enough cudo's to a great backing back spoil by Brown i think). Blease will be very good
  3. you are 100% right - we cannot know what he is thinking therefore those on here saying that he knew exactly what was he was saying are guessing exactly the same way as those who say it was a throw away line after too many wines are also guessing. So in absense of knowing what he was thinking he can only be judged on what he said without any "tinting" and for the CEO of the league to say to a CEO of a club that he should be at a different club (or head of the AFL) is entirely inappropriate.
  4. I dont care if it was a throw away line after a few drinks as WYL has alluded to . Totally inappropriate.
  5. did he write that he was going -or that he was approached ? a big difference Edit: your reporting on his reporting is a bit dodgy.
  6. I laughed until I stopped.
  7. I can remember the players - but cant remember that line - all three boys on the full forward line
  8. This was on SEN this morning so I thought it would be a good one to borrow. I'll get the ball rolling by going back in time to a sensational half back linefrom the early 70's Davis - Hardeman - Sullivan Frank Davis was dour tight defender and Sullivan had that little bit of flair. Hardeman was sensational He made the All Australian team in 1972 but they selected him at CHF because Peter Knights had a lock on the CHB position. Amazingly he was only 187cm.
  9. I actually don't mind Mark Robinson. He displays a trait that is absent from many (most) journo's - he has the ability to admit when he gets a call wrong and he does remember what he says/writes. He does amuse me when he floats something on fox without thought and then laughs at himself for being a goose. I detest journo's who do one of two things (or both)- deny/forget they ever said/wrote something OR/AND will go down with the ship on wrong calls - refusing to admit they were wrong and defend the indefensible.
  10. this was repeated in the HS and i dismissed the article but loved the pic. It showed beamer with the ball being surrounded by Gys and Jack Viney
  11. No doubt he has failed to deliver and he will spend time at casey until he improves or do an Adam Maric and be delisted and traded. I am suspecting that Bennell may only have until seasons end. I will consign him to the heap at an appropriate time. If the form continues it may be seasons end. Until then he has got that time - in the 1st's if he proves himself worthy or alas at casey.
  12. I am not convinced he will make it but the point I am making is the two i mentioned werent tracking any better at the same age. Now Col Sylvia - has had 8 preseasons to show the talent he has ( I believe he has the talent to be top 20 in the AFL) but has delivered bubka's - pot away !
  13. plain enough. would you swap him for eddie betts or leon davis ?
  14. dont make me go through the list...spit it out!
  15. Get this coach - get that coach. How about some of the players get some heart and pride in the jumper. It doesnt matter who the coach is - this "stuff" has got to come from inside a player and not be coaxed by some put on a pedestal people trainer
  16. To rehash - nutbean rule number one. Dont pot players ( especially talls) under 23 years of age. That doesnt mean a player is immune from criticism on what he can improve on - constructive criticism. But writing off a player of this age is just inane and insane.
  17. I think we will because we believe we can win and belief is almost everything ( note - i said almost)
  18. Tell that to Tom Hawkins
  19. So if "who knows what really happened" then how can you leap to the statement of the process being a balls up.
  20. You know you are going badly when the MRP gives your bugler 2 weeks. (I think he may have had carry over points from last years rendition of the theme from Rocky)
  21. I am on the record on our drafting saying it is not so much who we have drafted but more about our inability to develop them. I have asked the questions of certain players as to why they have reached a certain level and then either plateaued or gone backwards and I put it down to a culture of "close enough good enough". Its like my personal trainer - he tells me to do 10 pushups and when I can he just doesnt say well done. He says well done now lets get you to 20. Neeld and co at this stage are all noise as I havent witnessed any improvements ( in factwe have gone backwards) but I like the noise I am hearing. I like his comments about making everything about us elite and I like non negotiables. All I witnessed is noise but he has my full support until in my eyes he has had enough time to try and turn his noise into visible realities. The jury is out but until the jury is in he has my support.
  22. I liked your post up until the last line. Then I liked your post and wet my pants laughing.
  23. The level of retrospective journalism on Neeld is astounding - even more than I have seen on this board regarding draft picks (we should have taken xxx instead of xxxx - he was available !) The press at the time of Neelds appointment lauded the fact the we had gotten the jump and got the best of new breed of assistants and a bit of Malthouse at MFC was exactly what was needed. 0-8 and the same journo's are jumping off like rats on sinking ship.
  24. Amazing ! In that lovely piece of literature did anyone else notice in that whole lengthy diatribe the absense of one word ? Player(s).
