I've noticed it creeping into the game and Dawes does it a bit. Pushing the player in the chest who is disposing of the ball to stop him running on. Dawes does it all the time.unfortunately got him high.

Which is ok because it's the bye.

One bad clanger does not make him a liability.

Glad you loved everyone this week ! I certainly did.

Unless they deem the contact/impact too low for a report , then he is in trouble.

You must be delighted. -
His whole rationale for not signing is to see our direction. Words from his mouth - so............

I liked the two of three times he was at the bottom of packs.

So much poise for one so young.

I loved Dawes at Collingwood and rapt that he came to us. Have we ever had a footballer who has such an impact on the field without necessarily kicking goals, getting kicks or clunking marks. He just absolutely busts a gut every time he runs out on the ground.

apart from 3 obvious changers, this the best we have looked with our ball movement.

What really really upset me is they paid absolutely nothing at all, all day but when they did decide to pay something it was to Richmond ( especially in the second half). In the 3 rd quarter they paid about 3 in row that hadn't been paid all day. At least in the last 10 minutes they stopped paying anything again.

Demonland Player of the Year - Round 9

Not only that. Pedo clunked some very strong marks. You see 8 marks taken in a game but with chipping of the ball it sometimes doesn't mean a lot. Peso took some strong contested marks. Also howes marking stats are good . Some goal saving stuff. -
I don't care what anyone says, this beats the hell out of losing. There is no better way to spend an afternoon that culminates with my arm around my beautiful daughter belting out the "grand old flag " at the G together.

if so definitely ghost written ( Colins original done in crayon)

OK - the current Gov't finally gave me a laugh that I needed - did anyone else see and hear what Christopher Pyne called Bill Shorten... a good laugh....apparently we get suspensions on DEmond land as well the word censored but its ok to say it in parliament - I guess that is what privilege is all about.

Have you not seen the flaw in your argument ?? You have just picked up names that you would like to have drafted in hindsight - like Wines. Please show me anywhere - any commentator, expert, talent spotter who rated Wines higher than O'Rourke and Plowman. On ratings alone one of these two would have been drafted by us with pick 3 before Wines. And so the question is - have either of these two set the world on fire ? As to pick 13 given up - Lonergan, Corr, Garner, Thurlow and Simpson went before Grundy - if we had picked up one these and not Grundy ? What would your view been. It never ceases to amaze how everyone becomes experts AFTER the draft, two years down the track. On Jesse Hogans extension - I get antsy when a player comes into his last season with no contract extension. Hogan is not in his last season and he hasn't played a game yet ! Edit - I have no problem with the opinion that it is a risk taking a 17 year old - one year less development than other TAC footballers - I have problems with rewriting how history may have turned out differently and inserting footballers we may have got but in all likelyhood and on existing ratings at the time would not have taken.

The continuing saga of Melbourne's injury list - 2014

Interesting talking about incompetent medical teams. So much comes down to what the players actually tells the medicos - players who's sole motivation is getting on the ground and playing the game they love. Would you suggest Hawthorns medical staff are incompetent - Gibson has a slightly sore shoulder - Hawks give him leave to travel 16 hours on a plane to see his girfriend in the US during the bye - he comes back and says his shoulder is now REALLY sore - he has a torn pectoral - out for 10 weeks. -
I just read that Hayden Kennedy the umpires coach thought the free to Crameri against Dunne was there to be paid. I have no problem with umpires getting decisions wrong ( well actually I do but realistically the umpires will get decisions wrong). I have a real problem with defending the indefensible. How about you have another look Hayden and say " that was probably nothing to see here - a play on call"

You only have to hear Roos speak to feel somehow calmed. I have never felt so assured that we are in good hands and yet facts tell me we have won two games. When Roos said we are a work in progress and there is a long way to go I just nod and say - I can see that - steady as she goes captain. When Neeld said literally the same thing I groaned and thought 5 more years in the wilderness.

how about do it for pride in your performance , in the jumper and in the team. Winning because of ( insert sacked coach/retiring player/ losing a legend) is just not sustainable and also sends a message that somehow your performance should lift more because of the event. I want the highest possible effort and performance every week - not a special effort because someone passed away.

And our supporters should be irrational too. I am way ahead of you...

Happy ( or unhappy) to say during the whole "tanking" debate that I for one suggested that there was little point finishing 4th bottom or 5th bottom when you could get the wooden spoon and a nice prize for it. I will never ever say that again. Every win hopefully adds a little something to the playing group and getting that winning culture flowing through the veins. What is important - not winning any more games and bagging the last pick or winning 3 or 4 more games and finishing 15th. Not doubt in my mind - take the wins. Winning from all sections of the club must be paramount no matter what our position is.
