  1. Surprised D-Rod didn't get the nod. Hopefully Aaron has a good game and gets some confidence out of it, really want to see I'm finish on a high.
  2. Kind of annoyed that he left the response to that. I guess there must be stuff in there they want (for the moment) to be confidential.
  3. Very in depth article that one. I suppose we should be used to it, practically every article has used recycled manure to extend the word count to make it seem more intelligent.
  4. When did this happen? I'm happy they aren't our sponsors anymore if that is the case, I prefer the articles written in the Age most of the time but the way Caro attacked us there is no way I want her company sponsoring us.

    Tom Gillies

A mate who's a Cats fan reckons he'll be a good pick up for us.
  6. Will try and get down to that. I went a couple of years ago and it was well worth it.
  7. I agree, every year players that do well 90% of them say it was because of a full pre-season. I'm not too concerned about him, but like so many young players that have come to the club he has had pressure and responsibilities thrusted upon him. But ultimately everything I've heard about him is that he is extremely competitive and driven to succeed. When enough people around him start to take the load off I believe that is when we'll see him play with freedom. I can't see us seeing the best of him in 2013 until the latter stages of the year, no doubt in the meantime his name will be plastered by the likes of Denham and Wilson as another example of Melbourne's poor development. But remember this: we saw some great football from Grimes when he had a good run and then got another spat of injuries (before Neeled), he looked VERY good in the second half of 2012, I see a similar thing happening to Trenners. He played some very good football in 2011, last year he looked like he was hampered by something, hopefully this time off will give ALL of his body a chance to recuperate.
  8. That ground is one of the biggest missed opportunities we've had. At least we'll have Gosch's (I suggest a rename!) to ourselves.Just wanted to add my thanks to the guys that went. If like to get down at some stage but work commitments seem to get in the way.
  9. Certainly, I'm always keen to get more contacts through the industry. It's so damn competitive!
  10. I'll try doing it today, I think last I check there was an issue with posting from my account but its been a long time so it's probably ok now. I work in the television industry doing outside broadcasting. I've actually started getting into doing the television broadcast of the football. I've decided to specialise in doing the slow motion replay and got a bit of a break doing sevens coverage last year, hoping to make it a regular thing this year. It was actually doing this film that made me want to get into sports television.
  11. Yeah I sent it out around a few of the festivals, won an award and got into St Kilda film festival. Short films have about a 3 year cycle on the festival circuit as most festivals stipulate they have to be made about 2 years within of screening. Got another film doing the rounds at the moment, a short fiction film, which I'm hoping will do well and inspire me and my mate to do another doco.
  12. What's funny is that when we started out looking for the subjects we wanted to find people that weren't necessarily the stereotypical fans from those clubs. But the more we got into the Pies inner sanctum the more it seemed apparent that we were going to end up with someone like Phil! I will say this though, of all the clubs I dealt with the Pies were the most eager to help out and give me practically anything I needed. Even gave me tickets to ANZAC day! Not surprisingly Carlton were the most difficult.
  13. Bit surprised Byrnes got in over Rodan, but otherwise pretty happy with the group. I really rate Jordie not just as a clubman but as a heart and sole team player. But I actually think he will develop into one of those players the team needs to perform. Well done to all that got the nod.
  14. His comments have got 6 pages of comments from us so he's done his job (even if he is a complete [censored] while doing it).
  15. Thanks everyone, as far as I know Angelo doesn't post on 'ology anymore. It was funny that night of the scarf burning it just sort of happened that I ended up in the middle of them, always thought that if I wanted to become a war cameraman I'd only need to show that footage to a network!
  16. Hi everyone, Years ago in my final year of Uni doing Film and TV I did a documentary on football fans as my graduate project. I've been meaning to put it online for ages and finally did it. It features our very own Mohawk (who was a top bloke to meet and have in the film) as well as different types of fans from Carlton, Collingwood, West Coast, and St Kilda. I'm very proud of it, and despite the fact it's a bit out of date with things (as it was filmed in 2008) the crux of the story about footy fans still gets across. Anyway, thought some people on here might be interested to see it. It runs for 12min and in my opinion Angelo (aka Mohawk) has the best line, I'll give you a hint; he talks about our old friend McLaren. Enjoy! https://vimeo.com/57635790
  17. Sad to hear, I was dissapointed he left but it now looks like his life is going down the gurgler. Hope he can pull himself out of it but it will take a hell of a lot of character.
  18. I gotta feel that this will be his last season, and with that in mind I'd like him to finish well. I can't see him being a consistent best 22 player but I can see him coming in every now and then and occasionally having an impact. Good luck to him, he's done it tough for a while now.
  19. With Morton and Bartram gone I reckon he could become one of the top whipping boys. I do admire parts of his game, he has good courage and aggression, but at times his disposal and decision making has made him a bit of a liability on the field. Hopefully there will start to be more players on the list that can deliver the ball well so he can look to them once he's won the ball. I'm trying to figure out whether there's anyone nipping at his heels for his spot.
  20. 1 - A win against the Roos and Blues. 2 - I'd really like to see Watts and Trenners take the next step. 3 - Dawes and Clarke to strike fear in opposition defenses.
  21. If they are using Watts' lack of use and game time as evidence then they should give up right now. Honestly people have been critical of us playing him, he was so young and so skinny, a boy playing against men. Is it just filler in the documents to make it seem like they've done a full investigation?
  22. Think this is appropriate, although could be premature: Daft Punk - Harder better faster stronger
  23. I share your sentiments, maybe not to the extent of your beliefs, but while I thought Dean was hard done by during his tenure in terms of perhaps being in a difficult position, I certainly think the club handled his sacking and the following press conference in an amateur way. IMO that lead to Bailey responding to that question in such an open manner. Both parties made mistakes that week and over the journey. It's why we're where we are today. The good news I feel is that I can't see anyway the AFL can prove tanking if Dean denies it.
  24. Stupid, but got a few laughs out of me so it did its job. Big Max seemed to enjoy doing the news report part of it and most of them seemed to have fun doing it, and in the end that's what it's all about.
  25. I vaguely remember McLean saying something about how he felt sorry for Baily during his time coaching, I wander how he feels now that he's rained this s-storm on him?
