POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
Unless you listened to Hunt regularly you wouldn't know who TF had the ball or WTF was going on. I remember watching Melbourne and Geelong live while listening to him on the radio. The way he was carrying on it was hard the believe we were actually watching the same game.

Oh yeah .... Watched that too. Saw that and wanted to win one the same way. Turned out ours was even better ππ

POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
I'd watch a side to see if they break a premiership drought of sorts. Swans Cats Watched the Aint GFs. Dawks in '08. Richmonds 1st. The rest of the GFs I never bothered. Usually big rich clubs winning flags with cherry picked guns poached from struggling clubs. Never bothered watching any minor finals at all. "Why not us."

POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
Just had a read. Makes me wanna slap a bunch of those clueless fools upside the head. Little wonder it's Dusty this, Dusty that. They've only got one player and if he wasn't there they'd have no recent flags.

POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
Found I've got another leftover habit from the Grand Final. Can't walk past a football without picking it up and practising a few "Trac Dribblers". Made me think there'll be a ton of Melbourne supporting kids who'll have that kick down to an art form.

When I go to games I always have my sister in tow who's favourite position is behind the goals beside the cheer squad. You still see and hear the whacks and can be awesome when the big men are flying up close and personal. The game has become too sanitised. Once upon a time you'd go to the footy and anything could happen. All in brawl before the bounce really revved the joint up to fever pitch. The characters are all gone, the loose cannons who made the game entertaining. Even at home watching games on TV. Nothing got the family around the box faster than someone declaring "There's a fight!". These days I'm just content to check in on scores for opposition games cause I know nothing from the ordinary will happen. Most games are not much more than a continuous rugby scrum.

Just nicked out to the shed and turned on the radio again for 5mins. It's now 3/4 time and I've come back inside with chills up my spine. Mind-blowing game.

Fritta and Brown lit us up and Brayshaws just put us back in front. 4goals in 8 minutes .... Back in it. This is intense ..... C'mon. Didn't do much weedin'. π

POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
Today I was listening to the 3AW call while in the shed. Got into the 3rd qtr and Bont just kicked his 3rd. I think Lloyd stated that the dogs had kicked 8goals to 1 since qtr time. How often had we got off to a good start over the years to be dominated for the rest of the game. Man ... No wonder I was in a dark tunnel at the time watching the game live. "C'mon .... Not in the forkin' Grand Final." I turned it off. Will listen to the rest tomoz when I start weeding the yard. Hope we make a comeback.

As a kid I had Steven Smiths number on my back. Every game the players would kick a footy or 2 into the cheer squad on the outer wing. One game Steven Smith headed over with a footy. I turned around to show him his number on my back. He sent it straight too me. Bloke in front of me marked it. Was spewing.

Always wanted to sit in the street outside the ground behind the goals at Arden street and pinch a footy that come over the fence.

I went to Windy Hill once. The game Jacko punched on with Rotten Ronnnie Andrews and threw the VB can back into the crowd. Highly entertaining

Hmmnn .... Though I've been to a few neutral Grand Finals and cheered for opposition clubs you wouldn't ever see me in their colours whether they handed them out or not.

Welcome to Demonland: Jacob Van Rooyen
I know a few members of Taylor Duryeas family. He was told by Hawthorn when drafted in 2009 that they'd take 3years to turn him into the player they wanted him to be. Made his debut rd3 2013. I know VR's a different beast but we're in a similar position to what the Dawks were then and he'll get a run when Goodwin and co. are happy with him. Not before.
