  1. My daughter declared she wanted to watch the 1st 2 matrix movies againn before she shes the latest one. Told me the 1st times she watched them she was just a kid and didn't understand what was going on. I told her I've watched them both twice as an adult and I still don't understand 'em.
  2. Didn't watch or listen to the radio calls of the 2nd or early part of the 3rd qtrs for a few weeks after the game. Just wanted the good parts. But I've found watching and listening to the whole game just makes the comeback better. Commentators were gearing up to hang the Norm Smith around Bont's neck and then get blown away by 10mins of power the football world won't soon forget. To be fair the whole last month of games was power football starting half way through rd23. A comeback for the ages against geelong taking top spot for the home and away. Comfortable win against respected Lions. Destroyed the cats in the prelim with Gawn on fire. And then after abit of to-and-fro, suddenly ripping the dogs hearts out on Grand Final day.
  3. The Viney toe poke into space ...... Past the sweeper 😂 😎👌
  4. Old man rang me this morning for Xmas. Dad - "I bought you a book for Xmas." Me - "I bought you a book for Xmas." Dad - "Is it Gawnys book ?" Me - "Lol .... Yeah." Dad - "It's great, I read it in 2 days." Me - "Yeah .... I read yours in a day." Apple doesn't fall far from the tree 😂😈
  5. There's a couple of broken St.Kilda supporters at work. They've gotta walk past my 2021 premiers poster everyday in the canteen. Reckon I caught one glancing at it today. Would break their hearts 😈
  6. I've posted a few times about the moment on this forum. I loved Frittas 4th over the back of the pack to put us back in it. And Browns mark 10seconds later holding the ball up high like he does and exactly what we got him for. Petraccas all class little runner got the juices flowing. Sparrows off a step I thought I was redlining right then ....... We were coming real hard for this game now. But Olivers ...... Holy 5hit ..... The big guns are takin' it right here .... Right now. I have the image below burnt into my brain like looking through a tunnel with my fist in front of my face just forken roaring. Imagine that sound from 50 thousand of us at the 'G'. Would've been something else.
  7. Now finding myself trying to repress the urge to roar "C'mon Demons!" whenever I watch or listen to the radio calls of Olivers goal. It's like an involuntary reaction that's part of me now. How I'd love to relive that moment and feeling in real time. Just so, not sure if the right word but ..... Primal.
  8. I remember one year he blasted out in front of the Brownlow count but missed about 6games late in the season. And that was that.
  9. Ahhh .... I know exactly what ya talkin' about 😉 But the old man hated Iron Maiden 😂 But I learnt the trick from him. Got a couple Gene Pitney albums back in the day for Xmas. Gotta say though.... "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" is still one of my all time favourite songs. So thanks Dad.
  10. I remember a day at Moorabin in their swamp when he got caught holding the ball. It was significant 'cause it never ever happened before. Was the beginning of the end as far as I'm concerned and let me know the champ must be slowing down.
  11. Picked up 'MAX GAWN - A Captains Diary' for the old mans Christmas present this morning and I'm half way through it 😉😀 Pretty much a diary of the year that was. We all want to know what was on the players minds during the season and their thoughts as it panned out. Well this is the ticket. Gives a good insight into the different personalities at the club also. I'm up to Rd 16 .... What a great read. 😎
  12. Depends who goes down. No one can cover their big guns.
  13. Mcrae kicked 6 goals for the season. Oliver 11. Petracca 29. Bont .... 31.
  14. I'm not either. They've got 1 player who's draqged their arrsses from the flames so often it isn't funny.
  15. The whole side were built like juiced up tanks compared to the rest of the competition. And there are question marks on Geelongs drought breaking side with Danks involvement pre essendon. It was Thompson who told Hird his side wasn't strong enough and got across both Dank and "the Weapon". But the AFL did a leftie media job on that and smothered the story with a pillow.
  16. Rivers reminds me of James Hird. There .... I said it.
  17. The whole side were built like juiced up tanks with a pharmacist for a Captain.
  18. That's the thing with Grand Finals. Unless you win your heroic deeds don't really count. Nathan Buckleys Norm Smith for eg. But love Harmesy. Melbourne supporting kid who went and won himself the flag he/we always wanted. Forken Legend.
  19. Recently Gawn was asked which were his favourite games this season. His reply apart from the GF was the 3 wins against Geelong. No doubt there's been abit of byplay during previous games that he hasn't forgotten. Just hates 'em.
  20. Was going to post the same but you beat me to it. This season the players hoped they could do it. Now they know they can dominate the best sides in the comp. Confidence you cannot buy.
  21. I'm looking forward to it. Reckon the girls can get us another flag. Success breeds success 🏆
