The only difference in development between us and the top sides is the intangible that the kids have to work alot harder to get games and maintain their place in the leading sides. Only the best of the youngsters in top sides manage to do it. We however have a revolving door policy and the kids are rewarded senior games for more mediocre efforts.

Darling was good tonight but I'm not gonna cry over coulda shouldas never didas. They have some nice big forwards to bomb it into in high pressure finals tho'. The Dawks rely very heavily on Gibson and Franklin IMO. 1 of those 2 go down and they're finished.

Don't kid yourself. The Dawks didn't develop Rioli, he was a gem when he walked through the doors.

Those leaders you speak of were done and part of the problem. Neitz after the 2000 GF in his post game speech said something along the lines of. "We hope one day we can get back here for another go." Then , in 2001 with a youthful list and seniors in their prime we finished 11th. Then had up and down form through seasons winning multiple games on end and losing multiple games on end.
