  1. RN that is beginning to sound suspiciously like ‘grey nomad’ territory and heading ‘out to pasture’.
  2. Tommy Mac showed his versatility today after an indifferent first half. Thought his mobility and game involvement were telling. Field kicking has improved and was creative with his handball. A most unGoody like but timely in match call. Restored confidence and stability to the back 6 post half-time. Puts Sam Weidemann very much in the reckoning for a Swans game call up. In the great traditional of Aussie Rules the “Utility” is back.
  3. 6 Bayley Fritsch 5 Ed Langdon 4 Luke Jackson 3 Kysaiah Pickett 2 Christian Salem 1 Steven May Honourable mentions; Michael Hibberd James Jordon Trent Rivers Clayton Oliver Christian Petracca Jake Lever Tom McDonald (after halftime) Overall; Team stiffened up resolve to run out winners.
  4. After such an ordinary start and sub-par first half deliberately steered clear of the DL game day thread. As part of our post-game cool off curiosity won regrettably. Going backwards into the thread was not unlike being aboard with Captain Willard going up river seeking Colonel Kurtz.
  5. On the milk run down to tassie cream rises to the ? eventually...
  6. Opportunity for Nathan Jones to multi-task in an obviously transitional phase. Mentor/assistant coaching role from the bench or if called on an experienced battle hardened contributor on field.
  7. Rab has Blundstone oval been re-located further south?
  8. As long as the boys get their dander up!
  9. The old chestnut ‘One week at a time’ is most appropriate here. Considering the whole season is a marathon. Sticking with WJ’s insightful opening salvo. Tactically speaking the late arrival of superior reinforcements, has been decisive in many hard fought campaigns . ? ? ? anyone?
  10. Look like a class of recalcitrant schoolboys sitting down to a reality check homily from the coach post game.
  11. Typo? Toby Bedford mentioned in preamble as emergency but Kade Chandler named on the team sheet. Either are worthy 23rd ‘men’ given recent performances.
  12. Collingwood’s woes v Hogan’s giant steps back from multiple adversity? Pleased today for Jesse, an exceptional talent when on song. May body and soul stick together (except against us).
  13. As opined by a previous poster ?, there possibly is no need to cast the net too widely. When it appears there may be a potential mid-season draft prospect or two in our own backyard. The Casey Demons VFL alignment has already some runs on the board. With Bayley Fritsch and Jay Lockhart and one other? on AFL lists. A number of relatively unheralded young blokes have been displaying their football prowess at a resurgent Casey this season. Including according to Dwayne Russell, “Kade Chandler” ?, but besides Ryan Sparkes, Zac Foot and George Grey may also have some appeal. ps. #39 is also not harming his chances of a call up.
  14. Travelling First Class on the “Spirit of Tasmania” as we speak one assumes.
  15. Unheralded Western Australian product who plays both cricket and Aussie rules at elite level ‘may have’ recruiters’ salivating. In appears he has historically ‘a picture perfect’ profile for both MCC and MCC football sections. Meanwhile... “Expectation at of a knighthood may be stretching things to far” commented a Buckingham Palace spokesperson. But the ‘Sir’ would go very nicely with... Frederick Spencer Clutterbuck
  16. Nibbler’s been a favourite here since his debut year. That is not to say there hasn’t been some frustrations over the journey, from both sides of the boundary line. 2019 recall posting about ANB’s seemingly perennial ball handling yips ‘Couldn’t get a grip’. 2020’s concussion suspension was on the severe end of the spectrum. Dangerfield and Hawkins being high profile AFL$ players would of course not be made the ‘fall guy’ by the judiciary. Anecdotally his goal kicking is mostly effective although it can be off radar on some occasions. His 2nd Qt, snap goal from tight in the pocket, that started Melbourne’s ascendency last Anzac Eve was superb. Praised effusively by the TV commentary. Goals like that are gold, the Tiggers cloak of invincibility was beginning to slip.
  17. Special mention; Nathan Jones the years may have begun to caught up, but a true champion of the Melbourne Football Club. 300th game, Anzac Eve in the trenches with his team mates giving his wholehearted best as always.
  18. 2016 if memory serves well. Jack Viney rag dolled Rance. Apparently he was remorseful, retired early and found God. Leaving those sodom and gomorrah ites behind to dwell at Punt Road.
  19. Some folk here have made some very public and specific commitments...
  20. 6 Christian Salem 5 Christian Petracca 4 Max Gawn 3 Luke Jackson 2 Clayton Oliver 1 Tom McDonald Honourable mentions; Alex Neil-Bullen Jack Viney Adam Tomlinson Steven May Angus Brayshaw Ed Langdon Michael Hibberd Overall performance; Challenged early, regained composure and counter-attacked to achieve a significant victory.
  21. Celebrating tonight! Bath water is on the house!
  22. Add Big Luke Influential game
  23. Connect the dots ?Sheedy Tigers 60’s - 70’s ?Sheedy ?Essendon Hardwick 2000 grand final ?2021 Hardwick Tigers.
  24. Martin a very good footballer but maybe he should consider a career change. Curtain call for extras in the new Mad Max Gawn epic is about to happen. Dusty just add black leather, with studs, a Harley and for good measure a jail break. Go you mighty Demons!!!!!!
