VOTES : Rd 18 vs Port Adelaide
6 Kysaiah Pickett 5 Jack Viney 4 Christian Petracca 3 Tom Sparrow 2 Ed Langdon 1 Michael Hibberd Honourable mentions; Adam Tomlinson Jake Melksham James Harmes Luke Jackson Alex Neal-Bullen Charlie Spargo Ben Brown Bayley Fritsch Adjudication; No real complaints. Charlie Dixon gets J C Williamson award for 'milking' a 50 metre penalty goal. "Hard" man with "soft" hands. Broadcast; Pleased to hear BT's repeated references to the 'Big Tree' it is well on the way to being adopted as part of the AFL dreaming. Thank Jove the live ladder was dropped for the last quarter and FOX footy's Kelly Underwood being 'anchored' in the South Yarra studio. Opposition hyperbole watch; Powell-Pepper sprayed the goal front like an old tom. Desperately needs the Kossie implant. Overall comment; Port have improved significantly since earlier in the season. Almost a full compliment of players many in good form. Provided a seriously competitive match. Hopefully our boys will be battle hardened by September. Moggies meanwhile are aging and getting it soft.

“Gerry”, ‘Yes Ron?’ “Seems like we smoked out … ….some Baby boomers”- TRAINING: Thursday 14th July 2022
Heard of three dog night? Central Australia in July can plummet below freezing just before dawn.- CHANGES: Rd 18 vs Port Adelaide
Kudos DC for respectfully acknowledging Mitch and Jake’s contributions. Much more “classy” than the derogatory use of acronyms such as ‘NQR’ and that other crudely agricultural term ‘spud’ some folk self-indulge in. As a watcher of proceedings both Melbourne and Casey Demons albeit from afar. There are plenty of reasons to be enthusiastic and optimistic about future of the club. Membership is at an all time high, both teams presently hold high ladder positions late in the season and our roster of players is largely youthful and talented. The coaching group is experienced and definitely has the runs on the board. The administration is resourceful and the financial position is sound. No two seasons are going to be exactly the same. It is unrealistic to believe given the quality of opponents and length of the season, that 2022 will a cakewalk to the Grand Final. There are a range of seemingly imponderable factors such as form, injuries, collective belief and determination that must be taken into account. Much simpler to dissect with hindsight though than foresight. Whatever will occur in the remainder of the season is in the lap of the football gods, but we will be applauding the triumphs and commiserating the losses. Fingers crossed for more of the former. * postscript both the aforementioned players have experience and smarts maybe there will be a twist in the tale?- Vale Noel McMahen
Forever a part of the rich footy folk law at the Demons. Legendary premiership captain of one the most legendary football teams of the VFL era. Never saw him play, but was given an insight about how tough Noel really was. A lady who was a personal friend of Noel's told me he still had stop marks in his back well after the game was played on a Saturday afternoon. Which he revealed at a party later that night. Don't make them that 'tough' anymore.- CASEY: Rd 16 vs Geelong
6 Bailey Laurie 5 James Munro 4 Jayden Hunt 3 Jacob van Rooyen 2 Luke Dunstan 1 Taj Woewodin Honourable mentions; Deakyn Smith Kade Chandler Jake Melksham Adjudication; sCats seemingly got the run of the kitty litter 2nd & 3rd quarter. As another poster waggishly suggested umpires needed to get keys to leave town. Broadcast; Guy in the left stereo channel needs to seriously review his thesaurus / dictionary, 'treacle' ain't trickle when referring to ball rolling out of bounds slowly. Plus its Taj not Ty Woewodin! Opposition Hyperbole; Luke Dahlhaus 'just going' about as well as his former team mates. Early retirement forecast. Overall Comment; Casey Demons appeared to be 'gone', goal less whilst the sCats kicked eight unanswered goals after a terrific first quarter six goals to zip. In tough conditions turned it around lead by the young guns, Bailey Laurie BOG, Jacob van Rooyen and Kade Chandler. IMHO given that the chances of a win appeared to be rapidly sinking in the Corio Bay downpour. Bailey Laurie's lead from the front performance was the best by a yet to debut listed player for the season. His promotion to the seniors deserves serious consideration by selectors. * Demonland Fact Checker Claims by a poster with the Leslie Nielsen avatar that Laurie and Chandler are "four foot two" have been fact checked at the MFC website and suggest he made a blue. Laurie is closer to an imperial 5' 10" at 179cm and Chandler 5'9" at 175cm, both could be described as 'nuggety' in the old school parlance at 81kg and 80kg.- VOTES: Rd 17 vs Geelong
Honourable mentions only; 6 Jack Viney 5 Christian Petracca 4 Clayton Oliver 3 Angus Brayshaw 2 Jake Lever 1 Harrison Petty (Inverse order is probably more reflective of team performance) Adjudication; No complaints really, Hawkins must have the 'invisibility mode' switched on when May was tackled 3rd quarter without ball just prior to to his sole goal. Broadcast; Ran silent here after half time probably reflected state of game rather than quality of commentary. Opposition Hyperbole watch; No BS got hammered around the packs. Overall Comment; See above- THE LAST TIME THEY MET
- VOTES: Rd 16 vs Adelaide
Erratum by omission; Angus Brayshaw + remainder of team- My 3 word player analysis V Crows
Mitch Brown - met expectations honourably Christian Salem - match fitness improving- VOTES: Rd 16 vs Adelaide
6 Christian Petracca 5 Clayton Oliver 4 Ed Langdon 3 Christian Salem 2 Jack Viney 1 Steven May Honourable mentions; Jake Lever James Jordon James Harmes Tom Sparrow Alex Neal-Bullen Sam Weideman Adjudication; 💩 Opposition hyperbole watch; Tex Walker should hand in his star and transition quickly to his post-football career. His stint with the Selwood Academy during his long layoff last year was on show this evening. Umpires' pet. Future prospects include roles in Kids Pantomime as Judy and at the Umpires Association Xmas party as Santa. This will give him the opportunity to reciprocate the largesse received from the adjudication fraternity in his footy twilight season. Broadcast; Fox Footy's equivalent to the 'Odd Bunch' , irrelevant. Overall Comment; A meritorious victory; despite the selection challenges overcame a hostile crowd, an improving crows outfit and partisan umpires.- GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Adelaide
TEX MISSES FROM IN FRONT KARMA- GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Adelaide

Yes can recommend the 'fresh air' and exercise at the nearby Queen Sirikit Park. You can hire bicycles and do the circuit.- GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Adelaide
Herald Chun(der) feed announces Robbie Williams as part of Grand Final 'entertainment' this morning. We'd much rather have the ghost of the great Don Williams personally grace the 'G at half-time. Speaking of Weed "pound for pound" would rather our #26 than the blues #1 in the faux-ruck. If a soufflé can rise twice, thrice, multiple times, Sam can do it. Careful observation by astute footy watchers has revealed despite the online 'fugazi', Weed did contribute manfully last round by playing a serviceable team orientated game. Rupert shell-shocked apparently has Roxy Music 'Siren' on high rotation this weekend.- TEAMS: Rd 16 vs Adelaide
And not a 'whipping boy' amongst them...- CASEY: Rd 14 vs Gold Coast
6 Adam Tomlinson 5 Mitch Brown 4 Luke Dunstan 3 Kade Chandler 2 Jake Melksham 1 Jayden Hunt Honourable mentions; Jacob Van Rooyen James Munro Riley Baldi Taj Woewodin Judd McVee Roan Steele Bailey Laurie Oscar Baker Jack Bell Adjudication; pass (just) Opposition hyperbole watch; Suns like Giants building up a surplus stock of draft picks that will wither for lack of opportunity. Given Suns 'VFL' side had a definite outnumber of AFL listed players over Casey. Broadcast; Commentator had an irritating fixation on Jake Melksham's "gloved right hand". Repeatedly mentioning it when Jake came into the play. Was he running a practice call for his audition to "Golden Gloves"? Overall Comment; Given the projection of the Casey Demons this season a number of unlisted players have the potential for promotion to the big league.- CASEY: Rd 14 vs Gold Coast
Mac Andrew looks at this stage of proceedings to be a speculative late draft pick with ‘potential’. Craig Cameron seemingly still takes a sneak peek at the demonworld boards. All that rampant hyperbole and an exclusive thread ‘appears’ to have swayed some of the draft order decision making. JVR alternatively is by nature a more natural footballer.- CASEY: Rd 14 vs Gold Coast
"Where is Vagg PM?"- VOTES: Rd 15 vs Brisbane
6 Jack Viney 5 Luke Jackson 4 Jake Lever 3 Angus Brayshaw 2 Christian Pettacca 1 Clayton Oliver Honourable mentions; James Harmes James Jordan Kysaiah Pickett Toby Bedford Charlie Spargo Michael Hibberd Adjudication; Umpires were fair and without favour overall less is more. Broadcasters; Got the picture soon enough MFC were the story. Fox footy team astute and amusing. BT keep doing Macca’s JR do Dallas. Overall comment; Demons lead by Jack Viney emphatic victors.- My 3 word player analysis v Lions
joeboy - "accentuate the positive"- POSTGAME: Rd 15 vs Brisbane
According to Luke (Jackson) Chapter 21 ( disposals) verse 9 (tackles). At the altar of the High Church of Australian Rules (the 'G) the Lion's cubs were feed to the Christians (Petracca et al). Who prior to the feasting were given a devil of time by that Demon incarnate (Jack Viney). Jake (Lever) in the guise of the Good Shepherd rounded up the strays. So end's tonight's lesson (learnings), hosanna's the Archdemon Simon. "It was a Goodwin". - TRAINING: Thursday 14th July 2022
