  1. A couple of questions for regular Casey watchers please: Is Dion Johnstone coming along ok, weight for age? I note he was named as emergency a coupe of weeks back. What role do you think he is being groomed for? Maynard - any closer to being ready for a senior game? If so where?
  2. Well if he [Pedo] did miss he would be rested as (I think) Casey have another bloody bye this week. And, as an aside re Darwin heat - high 20s around game time - maybe this would be less of a problem for minor soft tissue issues than a late game at the G in 5-10 degrees? Don't know. Just speculating.
  3. Your use of the word "or" implies only one of those descriptions are appropriate for our AFL. How about all three?
  4. Variously attributed to Abe Lincoln or Mark Twain - Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt. Certainly applies to Dunstall in this context, but to so many dunces in the footy media.
  5. Meet Mr William Thomas Francis Knee Jerk - the new AFL rules consultant . Take down the shot clock.....put it back again......not in last 2 minutes......back again. Mandatory 30 seconds....umpires call.
  6. 2, 3, 4, 7, (10), 12 Like Simon Eishold all those years ago, ANB certainly never looked as if he wanted to take the shot at goal, but in this. case cooler heads prevailed. That was good use (not abuse) of a rule. I guess Knee Jerk Gil will make a change asap - of course only to be implemented very selectively.
  7. Sorry GM - you must be new to AFL as you appear to be expressing surprise that the AFL are being very selective in enforcing their own rules. Par for the course IMO.
  8. I had forgotten when smugly considering that CFC had got rid of Garlett, Betts and Waite that they had also traded the dual Coleman medalist for Chri$$ Judd who they just knew would guarantee them a premiership. Could have had a fairly reasonable forward line had they hung on to that quartet. Feel really sorry for their supporters - NOT.
  9. Agree - we set up pretty well most times when they stopped and propped. Speaking of which our best two stop and prop marks were surely the last two of the game - timed to perfection. And they chose not to man up on Jordan...then their fans had a bit of a whine about it (at they are prone to do).
  10. Mind you in previous years most games were difficult - just saying.
  11. If your half backs and mids control and neatly deliver the ball, and the forwards lead well, contested marking is far less of an issue, whilst as in defence generally one wants the defenders to spoil not go for the contested marks.
  12. As far as anyone has a 'position' these days, I would have Tom at FF with Jesse and Watts sharing CHF. One of these would drop deep when Tom does some ruck work.
  13. Tommy Mc?? Clunking quite a few recently.
  14. Typical gutless pretty boy Gil stuff. Great post and magnificent vitriol in your first paragraph. "Facewad of come"??? And para 3 puts a different thought in my mind, which I hadn't appreciated until you pointed it out. He didn't actually say sorry to the scumbag at all. Still, pathetic that the AFL has done nothing about Mr F of C. PS spell check - come or cum?
  15. More of a gazelle to my mind.
  16. Do you get food envy at a restaurant when you see what the folk on the next table have? Should I have had the lamb instead of the filet steak? The chips look nicer than my mash Our recruiters have done a fine job recently, and I am prepared to wait a year or two to see how Weidemann turns out.
  17. I am sure the original MFC committee members did just that in Jolimont Park, before the MCC fenced it in. It was Hunt, but I am sure Oliver will be asked to apologise anyway.
  18. Well, to be kind then, absolutely and totally inept.
  19. Huge FAIL by the AFL. Maybe Clarrie should say something, but the totally gutless AFL didn't say o word, or act against a spectator who intentionally made contact with an on field player. NO leadership on their part, but again look at who ru(i)ns the organisation.
  20. IF the club has actually apologised, (unless Oliver did actually say he would kill him, and they specified that that was the only subject of the apology) I am extremely disappointed and hope that they release the full story. AND the AFL still need. to sanction the scumbag for touching a player - if they don't then they admit that it is OK. A very wriggly can of worms they are opening there.
  21. How good, and inspirational, was that last run out of defence after Nev saved the day, helping set up the ANB Lewis final coffin nail? Took on (was it) Simpson, and left him grasping at thin air. He has done that quite a few times in recent weeks, and generally executes it well.
  22. I will be checking my insurance policies to see if this mob is somehow in the fine print. And if they are and the scumbag does not apologize to Oliver and to the club I will certainly review my options. WTF would anyone bring up their employment in this context? Shows just how little cerebral higher functions this guy actually possesses. Which in turn makes one concerned that he may be making important decisions re my insurance.
  23. I was going to but couldn't find an appropriate email address. Does anyone know of one?
  24. Oliver - pi55ed them off
  25. His [Jesse] best work in this comeback game was around the middle and wings.
