  1. Robbo's on the money. Our forward keys are Tmac and Fritsch and 1 other tall. I'm over Weid after Friday nights less than stellar performance (dropped mark, shanks,) Leigh Matthews plays great store in goal kicking accuracy. Ben Brown for mine simply becuase at least he kicks them when he gets it. And takes a big defender. Bailey's our leading goal kicker at the moment and a very hard match up.
  2. Steven May admitted in the post match that the defence wasn't on for the crows game and it helped them re-set. We all saw it and he's on the money IMO. And Friday was an 8 point game for us, with the Dogs going to beat plenty in the remainder of the season
  3. He swapped a high 5 with Gus in 2018! after NOT paying a clear deliberate out of bounds by Gus. In front of members stand too.
  4. I think your'e right , but its currently and I suspect for the rest of the year a 'no contest', Tmac every time. Weid's future up for grabs, just stop flying for marks against Tmac and Fritsch.
  5. I think your spot on mentioning Kossie as the best natural contender. He seems to intuitively know ehat happens next and has helped him impact at such a young age. As many experts say - you can't teach that. I'm off now to give my dog Daisy a friendly pat.
  6. All good. I was referring to some earlier games but gee he was great last night. He and Spargo might just be the 2 smartest footballers in the team.
  7. Fascinating post game interview showed Lever had practically lost his voice, such was his shouting and directing during the game. Richo commented on hearing it all night leading the defence or just helping tie it all together with his defensive team mates.
  8. Fantatsic post on Brayshaw summed up his night. Can debate on him cease, its just not fair or accurate as to his value defensively for the team. Plus has a great football brain and decision making capability(can't have too many of those). Sure he fluffs it sometime but let's move on. Langdon Oliver Brayshaw - best centreline in the AFL.
  9. Finally we beat a team above us.
  10. Weideman 1 handball to half time. You must be joking. Pity the dogs if we ever get our passengers going. Start polishing your boots for next week Ben
  11. Agree and fear for our ability to kick a winning score unless TMac gets more scoring support and I can't see who is going to provide that with Weid in, Brown out and Fritsch quiet. Maybe Kossy and jackson but they're still very young and it shouldn't be up to them.
  12. The correct ladder at present had the 3 badly umpired games, so far this season, should be 1. Melbourne 2. Bulldogs 3 Lions 4 Geelong 5. Power 6 Eagles 7 Giants 8 swans. The AFL owns up each time but , in the great Australian tradition of not being accountable, (see Vacine rollout) Steve Hocking still has a job.
  13. Comment of the topic Webber. Well said. Some say its difficult to umpire, but you try and umpire basketball, , boxing, .... etc. Given that betting marketing helps prop up the game, its fnancial implications alone should wake up the AFL. I'd be screaming if I had a lazy $50 on the Dees to win yesterday. Amateur hour.
  14. This is why Kane Cornes is spot on regarding last touch rule. The umpires are incapable of enforcing any intent rule reliably because of either mental interpreation of the players intent, wet ball miskicks, or just plain umpire cowardice to go against crowd noise or all of the above. Last touch rule will guarantee intent to keep in. Unequivical decison that everyone at the ground will understand and accept. Its in Basketball, soccer, or come to think of it any professiosnal game played world wide - just not parochial AFL. Come on Gil - grow up and introduce this, so at least Steve Hocking can show something for the mega bucks he's earning.
  15. I may be wrong but I see last night as limited damage in that the Crows won't play finals, and are unlikely to beat many away from AO. Halving the North and Crows games I think gives the team and coaching group a mid-season chance to highlight deficiences instead of against top 4 contenders where we migth be lulled into a sense of, " ...oh well, just beaten by a better team.." Nearly losing to Kangas, and then last night's loss has been timely to show where inprovement is needed in strategy, to counter new opposition plans against us, and in playing personnel. The talent is there fro all to see, not quite the execution. Better now than mid- August. This isn't about having the eventual loss was predictable, but being against a lowly team should provide many improvement insights/opportunites (I didn't say Learnings on purpose, but the principle applies not matter what you call it.). Little benefits along the way such as the Freo win last night knocking the swans out of top 4 contention and Sydeny finals at least softens the immediate blow. So go Pies this arvo against Port and GWS against Eagles.
  16. Thr game reflected the north game when tomlinson went down it really disrupted the defence. Yesterday same with salem except he's a key and irreplaceable by jetta. Weideman absolute last chance next week if at all.
  17. Where is weideman playing???
  18. This is a good point about seeing Ben Brown in good conditions. But conversely I have been harsh on Weidemans ability to be a one grab mark consistently, except for that finals game 2018. So today with the weather forecast its a big test for Sam to show what he can do at this level.
  19. The team probably takes every game as hard with no easybeats. Your spot on with list quality. They have the likes of Talia, Walker, Sloane, and will give the other lower teams a chalenge.
  20. Not so sure on para 1. Their wins have been less than spectacular, (discounting the Cats upset in Rd 1) and lossess against even hawks and kangas. Tomorrow will be a defining game for them list-wise in some ways. I reckon your 'e spot on though in prediction
  21. Well said. Pickett spargo anb etc have really shown up jake in terms of aggression and competitiveness. This is not a forward looking selection. LJ is way ahead of weid and bb so one had to go i guess. Both were underwhelming last week
  22. I generally agree with you but with the proviso that the Dogs being on top, if we are 2nd., guarantees the Lions aren't, and that we are not at risk of a Gabba Prelim. I would prefer us too be No.1 but if not possible, then the Dogs success comes into play for our prelim and GF hopes.
  23. Minor premiership is completely meaningless. Just ask the crows after 2017. The dees road to the premiership lies in no travel to kardinia or optus or gabba. The dogs are our best bet of assisting in this objective.
  24. Your'e right but at Top 2, we are guaranteed all finals we play in will be at the G - assuming the Dogs finish top or at least another Melb based team. I doubt the Cats will be awarded a home PF at Kardinia if they are 1 or 2. So apart from Round 11, I'm on the Dogs bandwagon for sure.
  25. The best place to watch at AO. Usually lots of melb fans there and you don't feel as outnumbered as in the stands. And bit like old fashioned terrace footy standing on the grass behind the seats, although not sure if that's allowed over there now and its seasting only.
