Trac looks ok. No bandage on either knee. May warming up also

Its freo that worry me as an attractive option for lj. The worse eagles are the better.

Is this the most embarrassing (in a good way) statistic of all? A brilliant piece of insight.

You got that right Sydee. I reckon this is the toughest match so far. GWS have higher quality all over the ground. Theyr'e missing a few but are well coached and well-led now . Coniglio has come good. Dogs are pretenders with a second rate defence, Bombers so-so. Power terrible. GWS can be the goods this year and play with spirit at all times. A banana skin game for sure.
-
Youv'e nailed it in english though.

And the Cats play at Kardinia Park - 30 metres narrower than a normal ground. That migtbh save them They don't in the PF or GF so it will be same old , same old for them and they will still wonder why and then blame gastro etcwithout facing reality. When the $100M stadium was planned and executed they missed the opportunity to re-shape K.Park. Huge long-term error.

Listen to David King's podcast on Whately this morning. First 10 minutes. Your views expanded with facts. The Dees are scary (his words not mine) and have more statistical improvemnt in key indicators than any other finals bound team - hence the scariness of the Dees now, running at only 70% with areas of imporvement still in the wings. Whateley sees the Dees as a 20-2 or 19-3 team right now. Its a parallel universe I'm thinking. This can't be real?

Forget the players in this game. Having just seen the Hawkins push in the back , I reckon the officiating umpire should be suspended this week for stupidity. Not for the decision - we all make mistakes - but the ridiculous explanantion trying to justify the error / non-call to harris Andrews.
-
Spot on. Defences are the foundation of premiership teams. Goodwin has always said as did craig jennings that once a team gets behind they need to take more risks to make up deficit. Goodwin aims to get the opposition consistently into these scenarios.
-
Constant metion last night by Ch7 team on how narrow the ground is and how well cats defend because its tighter. By inference, good luck trying to defned on any finals grounds like Gabba, MCG, Adelaide oval with ageing list

Steven May's hamstring syas Hi!. Malthouse said post match Hawkins consistently pushes opposing rucks under the ball and never gets called out by umpires. Unanimous on ABC radio Hawkins infringed in last 1/4 and got away with it because of name and status. A younger player would have been called. Umpiring claims professionalism in the AFL. Times like these its called into question. Still with Selwood rested after only 3 games, it augurs well for rest of finalists late in the season against the cats (oldest team to have ever played in the AFL last night if thats a guide (most players ever over 30 on the ground too)

I'd love Weid to have a longer go at it but your point about last week highlights my view. Weid does it rarely at top level and can't be relied upon yet, if ever. One swallow doesn't make a summer. Maybe this next block of 3 or 4 games can be his last chance to grab a position. But I don't think it will happen with BBB and Fritsch the go-to's .
-
Nailef the key issue TU. Look at the games where bbb plays. So much clrar air for him and fritsch and even tmac. Weid clogs the centre
-
It wasn't just a goaless half. It was a goaless 2 quaters and 22 miinutes. Or 4 minutes short of a goaless 3 quarters. That's the issue Port folks should be looking at.

It was in Maxy's post game on the ground. He was asked what it was like having Lever retrun, and he made that comment about Smith needing to be directed where to stand. It was said in a humourous style, as Max does, but I reckon a bit of truth. The Defence IS May/Lever. Lever said he missed May bigtime in the JLT loss to the Blues earlier this year. They both operate asone in setting up and truly miss each other when one is out. Its as if they know what each other is thinking. If one is out, that's more thinking the other has to do alone. Obviously this doesn't apply to Salem and even Petty now based on his finals.

Quote of this thread LH. And you can add the same for when we get the forward line connection working again. At last nights presser Rucci asked goody about the scoring behemoth in the PF and GF that was the Dees. Goody said we are a work in progress and know we can improve. Scary indeed for others when things click in the future games.
-
Not so sure. Forward line needs work and bbb back asap. Others are just going. Premiership standard defence safely in place.
-
Its a thing of beauty.

Had prolems yetsreday getting SMS seats from Ticketek for Anzac Eve, but GWS game went OK a few weeks ago. Ticketek aren't what you'd call a perfect system. Or even user-friendly at times. requires some perserverance from the punters.
-
Agreed. Power were stiff to lose to Lions at the Gabba. They aren;'t near as bad as portrayed by some and will be a hard game for the Dees.
-
My second most looked for weekly post. Thanks. Joeboy's 3 word analysis is my favourite. This is a close second for laughs though.
-
Nice try though Sue. Well said. Speaking as a +65 year old with 3 doses of vaccine. Still got it. Few if any symptoms. No hospital. As the medical experts predicted. Did i pass it on?. Maybe. But was happy to lockdown for 7 days to mimise risk to others. Lining up for 4th shot in 4 weeks time. Go Dees.
-
Blues gamed the medi sub rule as explicitly described by Curnow in post match. AFL investigation needed here. Curnow out 1 week to 'recover '
-
Proven again today. What on earth are the blues happy about.? 4 h goals after 1/4 time. Wtf.
-
Enjoy the day out. Safe in the knowledge there'll be 1 less unbeaten team at the end of the match. Your problem will be who to support to make it happen. or who do you hate least - Blues or hawks. Really tough decision from where I stand but will be wathcing the game on the tele with that angle in mind. Today, I hate the Hawks more.
