  1. Scary thing? He's only 25 years 3 months old. And "hates losing". With his much improved kicking he now hurts the opposition. Unlike many leesser accumulators like Mitchell and McCrae. Importantly was a Goodwin project from day 1.
  2. Spot on. We're about respecting others as a club and having the Dogs is downright rude. In the past the Tiges have done it on a hursday night, not all club unfurl in Round 1. (Eagles in 2019 the most recent, Hawks in 2016) No real pattern, except the dogs did it on a sunday arvo at 3.20 which I like the sound of. Plenty of kids should have the opportunity to go. Not a night game please.
  3. Is that the version with part of the match day ball. 1000 limited edition????
  4. His post game interview on the ground was the most realisitic and insightful when he described the early disasterous years of his career as a young man. He, more than anyone, seemed to understand just how hard its been over the last decade. 1 flag won't be enought for him I suspect.
  5. Iv'e watched the first 1/4 many times. The take away is how the team settled straight and looked 'on', and most young players got involved. Not one sign of nerves and Jackson was a key member of that cohort. His quick intercept and handball to Charlie Spargo a delight. Clean hands and fast brain.
  6. Max now can a have a few more seasons too! With young Luke transitioning.
  7. They are wrong. The umpire deemed it a disposal. Otherwise as trac had prior opportunity he would have been pinged for holding the ball or incorrect disposal.
  8. Why not. Jackson first rising star to win a flag same year. Bowey would be a mirror image of sorts. Won the flag . Now for the rising star.
  9. Tmac for me too. Highly educated so using ' consumate' would be in his vocab. Had seen trac from the start. And i think would have had a lot to do with bbb both training and strategy. Brown did not come in in a threatening manner to tmac so i suspect esp now as flag partners in crime might well be close.
  10. Dermot says reputations are made in finals. Naughton was poor in the gf. But makes this list?
  11. I find it interesting how he jumps in a ruck contest. In 3rd 1/4 his jumping style was similar to a basketballer or a volleyball spiker. Almost unplayable. He signs up and the Dees will have big maxy for another 5 years as a result of reducing his game time from 90% plus
  12. I think you will be posting this again in 2022 with 'I tipped this ' caption. If a player with suspect disposal is to improve it will be at the Dees. Think anb fritsch even Brayshaw. Dunstan will be seen as inspired possibly with saints then including him in the mccartin/Trac conversation as another list mgt. debacle..
  13. And he interrupted Daisy as she was explaining what really happened.
  14. I'll pay for the removalists van for Mr and Mrs Jacksn myself if needs be. Hell, I'll even push the trolley gladly.
  15. Spargo's pass into Fritsch in final 1/4 of the GF nailed the Premiership, and Dogs knew then there was no hope. I'll take a high IQ footballer every day of the week - Spargo has been this from Day 1.
  16. Yes 1 from 1 in the last 20 years is unbelievable. Also the usual narrative is that a team needs to fail a few Prelim's or a few previous finals series failures first to harden up or understand what it takes to succeed. Roos in the 90's, as an example. Dees effort in 2021 even more impressive. Saints had it in 2010 but no chances since , and when other teams supporters see the 2021 PF and GF master classes, many will wonder how on earth their own team is up to it for the next few seasons. (excl. probably Power, Dogs and Lions fans maybe)
  17. What better signal than the end of the prelim level era. 3 cats only also , 2 being defenders and the other a 34 year old forward. Surprised Guthrie didn't get a spot though.
  18. Great point QD. I thought the same looking at each from 50 downwards would each player displace a Dees member. Still haven't found one, primarily because each part of the Dees makes up the whole. Who else can gut run and apply pressure like ANB for example?. Not Bailey Smith thats for sure.
  19. Agreed and I noted Scott was a very good coach for all your reasons above. But each year pencil in 9 home game wins and your on a roll. Its a matter of where you land in the 8, not, IF you make the 8. Transitory view of success showed out in the Prelim in an embarrassing manner
  20. Right on all counts CW, but I reckon now the chickens have come home to roost and the cats false sense of entitlement over past lost decade, unsuccessful in GF terms, have left them nowehere to hide now and nowehere to go for next few years. I also suspect their idea of being a detsination club who plays finals won't cut it with top players . Jeremey Camerons ambiton for a flag disintegrated at the hands of the Dees publicly in the Prelim. Window shut that night.
  21. The 'next Dangerfiedl' doesn't grow on trees. They and him had their turn/window and its over. We have the next Dangerfiel (arguably better IMO) - Trac, Oliver, Jackson, Sparow..... Other teams also are better placed in this regard
  22. The above stats are often quoted but an unrealstic guide to the Cats ability . Each season they are 'guaranteed 8 or even 9 wins at home due to the draw not scheduling games against big teams in Geelong. Think Suns, Freo, sydney .... Threats such as Bombers, Tiges, Dogs, Pies rarely ever or never play there over the past decade. Their problem will be in 2022 if the Dees are to play down there. That's one loss coming up. Understandable given crowd size limts. But this skews the outcomes and almost locks in at least a top 8 finish each year, only needing to win 4 or 5 games away from home. Then when the heat is on at the end of the year , it shows. Scott is still a very good coach but its a whole-of-club problem they need to address. The ground dimensions don't help them away either. Their record is an outlier is all I'm saying and not a predictor of finals sucess at the prelim/GF level when they play serious opposition at the G -(or Optus in WA).
  23. Surety the whole prelim finals record would be a signal to them that change is needed. Cats and media see this as a badge of honour. Sen callback yeyerday had plenty of calls about not renewing a membership etc. Unless change comes.
  24. He opted for what he could get and the team he could get to for acceptable money and coming home. Dees were never ever a chance. A deal is 2-way and we had nothing to offer. Everyone's happy at Demonland (to quote Luke Dunstan and to watch the premiership celebrations) But Cerra will always think what might have been I guess. Good luck to him though.
  25. Good call. Kane Cornes raised this issue yesterday. Cerra and Hewitt can't simply go to thr Blues and be nice players doing a role. They must become bona fide stars fro what they are on and what the Blues have given up. . I think he referenced some melb players in comparison, Trac and another, but I may be wrong. I have never seen so many A-graders in the one Dees team as we have now. Its incredible to contemplate 2022.
