  1. Agree and i feel for him over this. He called a whole of club meeting before freo game calling this issue out. He used genetal lack of knowledge by team members on alcohol rules to drive home his point. Given Harmes and hibberd are back in and were at the incident maybe they escaped sanction due to attempt to address May on behaviours?
  2. The AFL, probably due to the club's immediate action and communications with them, has handled this situtation well and as it should have been. Kudos to them at HO. Russell was comparing this to the QLd Hub issues with the Tiges, but the Tiges did a cover up etc , and hence they were called out for more action. Goody knows there's complaceny about and called it out internally 3 weeks ago. Goody/Roffey/Pert/Richardson/Gawn/Viney/Lever....... will not let this de-rail the hard work. That's my hope and trust in them anyway.
  3. He does. He expanded on his failings in todays press conference.
  4. And gave them a short commentary on what constitutes good leadership to boot. And not a cliche in sight.
  5. This 12 minute news conference just loaded onto the club's website. Compulsory viewing for all members to just appreciate how lucky the Dees are to have a first class leader in Max Gawn.
  6. And coming from the Suns following a wasted decade, he now misses the best home and away game of the season. Big Freeze at the G. This will hurt him more than any sanction anyone could apply.
  7. [censored] happens. It's how the club and leadership handle it. In this case they are doing just fine in upholding standards.
  8. Hit the nail on the head Deespencer. This is close to a whole of club issue if other teamates didn't call the drinking concussion protocol at the time. May and melksham aren't alone in this escapade. Goody and all fans and support staff would rightly be furious. Other clubs have 1 rule for stars and harsher rules if you're not a top 22 player. (TIGES for example) We don't so well done to club and leadership group. The dividend will be down the track. P.s. I'm furious as well but will give my best support at the G on monday
  9. I agree with this Pates. Last season it semmed to take up to maybe Round 20 to get the forward line functioning. Granted we had Tom McDonald then and the talent pool is now different. There's not a lot of fans on here for Mitch Brown but last week's first 1/4 showed me he has something to offer. Good in the air, good kick, strong 1 clunk hands. Worth perservering in the face of lesser options. Weid was allowed a few games to test out. Why not MB. And if we can get the pressure rating back to where it was or close, at No 1 in the comp, a healthy defence we can make Top 4 for sure then its open slather on the day.
  10. Viney threw up just after the half time siren.

Goodwin is taking it seriously which is a plus. An announcement was made over the P A at the time at Casey. Everyone ordered upstairs with no notice. It was serious stuff. Freo we fell apart with injuries. Tonight was better but horrid execution. QB will tell.

2 weeks ago prior to freo game Goodwin called a whole of club midweek meeting at Casey out of the blue. Players down to proverbial boot studders He addressed his concerns about complacency creeping inside the club. Its a thing and he's concerned. Source? An attendee at the session.

Exactly KW. 13 needed this year and its the old question. Who goes out for the Dogs .? For mine there are at least 8 teams above them. Bailey Smith did another 1 way running perforamnce a la GF final 1/4, and Naughton seems overated and young de Koning was excellent.

Spot on. But I do have a soft spot for Hibberd in defence. Was very happy he was in the PF 22 when May went down
  15. How good is AFL Counsel Andrew Woods.? Cut and paste from AFL.Com.au below; referncing Fight Club, - brilliant. Game over surely. "BRAZEN, COWARDLY" Woods sums up the AFL's argument. "I’m at a loss to think it’s less than negligible." He reiterates Franklin was angry. "Precisely what a professional AFL player should know what not to do," Woods said. "It’s brazen, it’s cowardly and the opposing player isn’t expecting that to happen to him. "It’s AFL, not Fight Club or a combat sport."
  16. If its not Jntmac,.... in the words of the great Terry Wallace, "....I'll spew up..."
  17. Agree on the above. I don't understand the issue with Jordan, watching him clsoely all season as he plays on the wing closest to our seats, and Bowza's decison making is elite, as identified as a key factor of Taylor's when drafting him. Essential to have that in defence, cool head under pressure and he's more than worth his spot, even with a down day last week he had plenty of mates.
  18. Of course. Classic Board Chair captains pick and begs the question about relevancy of other Directors. They found a ceo for Woodside but no experience in sport like many others more qualified. No tender for a fee possibly in 100's of tbousands. At 33% of year 1 salary. Next he'll lecture us on good governance of clubs. Says something about Richard Goyder and ( Possibly ) poor inputs by others around the table IMO
  19. Thanks. The wins all seem the same after a while and i lost count. Except for the pf and gf that is.
  20. Great post response to a a ridiculous comment on the 2021 season being a "myth". Just finished a 16 win streak from last season into nearly mid-2022. Last season and the falg wasno fluke - neither is this year. I think the team is even better given its consolidated belief in winning.
  21. Thats for sure. Petty took up the May/final sweeper role soon as May went off and was doing OK. Then injured and we lost all back shape. But up to then it was winnbale.
  22. Fully agree with all of the above ElD. Its nearly been an all-season issue inside 50. The 12 goals to 1 is such an outlier though as I said its almost not worth considering the scale, except there are lessons to be learned and yesterday's defence won't be the one at the sharp end of the seson. Your comment i highlighted above is spot on when compared to what the dogs did to the eagles last night. Not an outcome we seem to be capable of .
  23. Our premiership defence and team overall was outscored 1 goal to 12 after half time. Absolute outlier of a result even missing may and salem. Freo are kidding Themselves if they think this will happen again. As are we from our side. 25 % of premiership team missing. Have faith for when the cavalry arrive. But we learned a bit more about weid(prior to his compulsory shift to defence) and dunstan. And play BBB Like the suns did to naughton and He's in a bit of trouble unless We can fix it also.

Correct. Which is why when before start of the match the umpires walk out the siren is blown and the umpire in charge signals by a hand up that he/she has heard it as a signal to the timekeeper.

Well described Redleg. I was in the pocket and heard the siren which made the whole experience surreal - as well as heartbreaking.
