I know I have paid out on Dew but he did have Roos's endorsement, has to be worth something. But you are probably right.

i cant see much difference between 6th and 14rh, little factors to have a big impact. Re GCS, easy to think they will be totally awful but they will get better.

I really think Jesse will add a minimum of 4 wins for Freo who will be 10th. I had us 17/5 for year and minor premiers. I also think port has to come good. Syd and Ade miss and StK and Bri both improve. Hawks and Geelong have a soft draw just scraping into 8-9 WCE Ric Col all in top 4-6 Ess could sneak in damn it i had to deliberately pick against them. Dogs don't have enough cattle. North irrelevant I like our tough draw, injuries are a caveat on all predictions. Also i think the 18th team should have at least 6 wins. Carlton fwiw

Are we a chance with this one Jesse trade thread to match all the Jack Watts threads in total, time for some research...

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS

Am not against this, but why when clubs are all over themselves about ruckmen, is North letting him go, North has more cash to spare and Goldstein is up to his last season or two, haven't seen a answer to this anywhere but somethings sounds NQR, did he fall out with the coach or what? If it's fitness, why is North not backing themselves to fix his tank. @La Dee-vina Comedia makes a good point but it seems a big gamble to be recruiting based on rule change speculation. Anyway there is still a piece of the puzzle missing for me, and when something looks too good to be true... But as always, the FD recruiting, led by Taylor and Viney have proved they are worth the trust, I'm just curious about the back story I guess. Just quietly I wouldn't mind Stefan Martin coming back either.

So if a club has to pay to the cap, what does North do with all the cash? Secret Santa with the current list? They have been putting aside dollars for years now, how do they spend it?

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - KADE KOLODJASHNIJ

He's worth 34, not including double/triple letter values, and the bonus for all the tiles. I really think anyone we recruit I can trust the FD to make sure the 'not soft' function is installed. Certainly of the Suns that have left they all seem to go ok. K.hunt, what a bone-headed move that was, 3 million for a party drug culture. Funnily enough I'm more worried about May working out than KK if we got both.

		Jayden Hunt

OK, obviously didn't explain myself enough for the @Ethan Tremblay & co, never said he was Gaff. just that he could do some of the things that we would like him to do. Gaff> Hunt by the length of Flemington, but what we are looking for is outside run and I think Hunt has shown enough potential to fulfill that role obviously he does not have Gaff's skill set or he would command Gaff's salary and not be stuck in the VFL. Everyone is keen to go early and definitively write off every player, I think people are going way to early on Hunt, the kid is a late bloomer, that is obvious from reading about how much he grew after school (~18yo). I for one am happy to see how preseason goes, that run is just too exciting to ignore if he can marry it up to a nice flat 25-30m kick

		Jayden Hunt

Bump To me if Hunt can have a big preseason he could do alot of what Gaff offers at a much cheaper price. He has plenty of improvement. The thing I like apart from his run is that he is not afraid to go for the big tackle, even to his own detriment. I remember when he knocked himself out, he was crazy brave, I really like crazy brave. I trust the FD to fix the issues with the disposal, he is smart enough

		Farewell Jesse Hogan

Is it just me or am I the only one fantasizing about Hogan being turned into multiple picks and players. I still think Hogan is a key to our team one day, the next I think he will be Melbourne's Travis Cloke. I had actually seen him as becoming more of a Kouta and that his value as a CHF/Wing (more Jonah Lomu than Robbie (-; ) was in his low flat passes (love his field kicking) and contested marking. Anyway Jason Taylor and CO have more than proved they have a clue and know what they are doing, I'll back the club, even if it does suck coming a few days after a painful loss.. In terms of what we want, I'm keen on outside speed and skill, I want two game plans, the first we have is a contested game, which I love, but then we need to be able to play a possession game, so am keen on any player that has the latter. Am not sure about JKH either, I thought his cards were marked but his late run of games suggest he stays, I also think Hunt and Stretch stick around. AM calling time on Lewis or he just plays Casey. Tyson who I rate highly is surplus because after watching him play I have not seen him adapt to any role other than inside mid. I reckon Tyson would be a good fit for the Suns. Will see, will always regret not seeing Hoges kicking 10 in the Red and the Blue, always felt like a day out was only a game away.

Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again

Agree with his overall value, but today's game was the kiss of death, he did exactly what we were worried an inexperienced player would do. As brave as I think he has been and as great as he is, I also think he now 'hears footsteps' and is no longer a one touch player. Keep him as a coach but Lever takes his place. This is not because he is slow either, he failed badly at the QB role today.

Who are our bottom six? And where do they rate?

Now more than ever, and I thought this after trying to rate 1-22, it truly is about playing your role, I know that sounds like a terrible cliche made for TV, but every name you think of, you think of some 'mission critical' function you want the player to perform, and the consequence of that not happening. It makes the idea of top 6 and bottom 6 a little redundant from how the team will go overall, because if the bottom 6 do the role designed for them (I don't think anyone is being gifted a game) then we will win, but we also need the top 6 and middle 6 to do their bit as well. The days of a few individuals putting 'the team on the back' I think, while still possible are far less likely. Therefore @Pennant St Dee and @layzie are not so far from it, the idea of ANB with his hard running pressure (team role) breaking the game open. @Yung Blood I based it on current season, with a feel for recent form, as much as Petracca has improved the last few weeks, I am probably marking him a little harder after rating him on potential for so long. Re Jones, yes an argument could be made for 10-15, I am personally finding it hard to rate him correctly. I think he is a senior player and does provide leadership, however a few have gone past him and calculating the intangibles is hard. I also rate his ability very highly to kick Captains goals, more than one his running has put him in position to slot a high pressure kick and the way it lifts the team is a pleasure to behold. Out of the other players you mention, Garlett, Hunt could be best 22 if they wanted to be (over Hannan/JKH), their form drop off is the disappointment of 2018. Lever is top 10 (VDB would give way) and Stretch (after that teasing cameo before injury) could have an argument for knocking Spargo out (I think 2019 will see even more heat for places) I can only see Vince getting back in with serious injuries that I do not wish to happen. are depth, ranking 25 to 29i.e. Wagner, Kent, Joel Smith, Pederson, Bugg (had hoped he'd get back).

Who are our bottom six? And where do they rate?

Hi Dees2014 (not our most auspicious year btw...) Interesting subject, sure to provoke some discussion. FWIW IMHO ? 1. Gawn 2. Oliver 3. Brayshaw 4 TMac 5.Viney 6. Jones 7. Salem 8. Lewis 9. Melksham 10.Jetta 11. Hibberd 12. Harmes 13. Tyson 14. Fritsch 15. Pettraca 16.Neal-Bullen 17. Omac 18. Frost 19. Vandenberg 20. Weideman 21. Spargo 22. Kennedy-Harris Our bottom six have not hit their respective ceilings yet, that really excites me.

Sorry but I disagree, Tmac is best just kicking at the sticks, anything else makes me nervous as he kicks floaters more often than not. Yes he has the tank, and can/could mind a running gorilla, but those kicks are best suited for goal kicking - keep him 45m from goal at all times I reckon.

		Farewell Jesse Hogan

We've done this dance before BB, you are the merchant banker of supporters and I'm more into the pathos of the club. In the movie the Castle I'd be speaking about vibe, and perhaps I'm simple (I feel simple, arguing for respect on an internet forum).

		Farewell Jesse Hogan

I was sad he left, I really wanted to see him succeed at the club, but I felt like Goody gave him a chance, after 12 months away I can see that Goody knew what he was doing. I think Jack is a normal human, with some awesome skills but not much of a contested ball player which puzzles me to this day because he seems quite good at winning the 1v1s.

		Farewell Jesse Hogan

I did, you were just too busy hyperventilating to read it, re Jack Watts I said, "I think the FD (that was an abbreviation for the Football Department of the Melbourne Football Club) knew what it was doing (moving on Jack Watts, i.e. Jack Watts was not a good fit for our football team), do you need more than that? I can get some crayon. I'll use my name when I am slagging someone off, I didn't name you personally but obviously you want to make things about you.

		Farewell Jesse Hogan

We need more about Jack W? FMD, there is enough. But to play along, I think the FD knew what it was doing. My point is similar to what Paul Roos / Simon Goodwin have said OTC and other venues, words to the effect 'don't underestimate how invested the players are in the club' and also what Nathan Jones said in players week OTC about internet trolls, there is a decent way to express your opinion_thus some of the commentary about our players has been downright rude, and some of what was said about Jack doesn't pass muster for a supporter. Now before someone tells me to toughen up - Let me flip it back, if someone is going to go hard with their comments, slagging a player from a team you reckon you support, be bold and type your full name against your POS opinion.

Yep we're having a discussion, I am also allowed to take offense at some discussions, and I just find 'Trade Hogan' disloyal, he's not BHP shares, I am not silly enough to think everyone will agree with me, I am allowed to post my 2 cents though, as yiou say, it's a discussion .
