Cameron was 3 firsts, he is a genuine match winner and had injury baggage. That is the benchmark for Trac. Goodbye BBB, ANB, Gus, hello Degoey??? WTF, That would the biggest kick in the nads since Scully left and more than Hogan/Jackson. Up there with Gerard and Ronald walking out on the club. Except we didn't take on board the biggest ratbag in the league, why don't we go and get Tarryn while we are at it.

Paging @WalkingCivilWar, with this bottle sconning the goal umpire in the back of the head (a disgusting act), thrown from the Carlton Cheers squad, is there any sanction available against the cheers squad - like being moved to tier 3 or something? I normally argue fiercely against collective punishment but feel like being a hypocrite in this particular case.

Get ANB to sign the contract this week, he lays out the Dog with a carefully timed bump and serves out the suspension in SA win/win...
  5. 100% relationships matter to Kozzie, even over dollars to an extent. That our relationship with Kozzie is strong is yet another testament to our +ve culture.
  6. I love that you're an Azimov fan. (Am still undecided on the ๐Ÿ + version). But I really think a humorous scorecard approach to media BS a'la JVAM comment would be worth while. By my rough estimate the media is batting approx 6/28 at the moment over Goodwin's coaching tenure. Which at .214 is hardly MLB.
  7. 6 Viney 5 Langdon 4 Gawn 3 Turner 2 Salem 1 JVR - Iโ€™ll tell you why, his rucking showed me heโ€™s a competitive beast. Fox footy talked about how he was leveled by Witts, what they didnโ€™t acknowledge is 10 seconds after he was taken out by a Witts knee, he smashed Wittโ€™s to the ground in a tackle. That was the story, not the knee, ,morons missed it. He gave it straight back to Witts at every contest.

Stat given on OTC said Melbourne has won more games than any other team over the last 4 years bar Brisbane, who are sans flag though.

Melbourne win/loss margins Geel 3 BL 26 NM 37 Haw 67 Rich 46 Ess 36 StK 39 GCS 69 Carl 109 Adel 91 WB 49 Coll 42 X PA 10 StK 2 Frem 54 WB 50 Geel 2 Adel 13 GCS 96 Syd 9 WCE 17 GWS 45 2018 rocked for scoring, Goodwin was crushing it with the team running off the back of the square. 2299 points for the year, 105 per game. The rules changed on him, you'd be a nuphy to forget we were a hard contested high scoring team.
  10. Honestly the Front Bar has better takes each week.
  11. @Jaded No More I worked it out DeeSpencer = Tom Morris But in seriousness, and something that I don't think gets enough recognition. Gawn went and sacrificed his role as Ruck to try and make the Grundy option work out. This is an All Australian, All Time Melbourne great, willing to share his lauded role to make the team better. Remember the GF when Jackson was running hot. Personification of team orientated and selfless, leads by example in clutch moments all the time, not just when it is easy.
  12. I'm a romantic, but No, he leaves with massive thanks and respect and I think he's a stellar human, and would love for him to have a role with MFC going forward, BUT I REALLY WANT TO BEAT THE FILTH, with exactly the best team we can put on the park.
  13. If Morris, or lets say a Wilson, Purple, whoever get the facts right, I have no issue with the reporting. But when there is joyful glee at delivering the bad news with added editorial comment presented as fact I have a serious problem. Tall poppy syndrome is a thing, and there are media darlings and those sent straight to the stockades. Morris โ€˜slantsโ€™ what he says every time, I donโ€™t respect this from someone who has never played the game or put himself out there in trying to do something. He is a critic not a creator and he should show more respect for those he slams publicly. A set of straight teeth and a firm opinion of oneself doesnโ€™t mean merde in terms of credibility.
  14. Don't know, his best is epic, by the by Deemonstrative has the best idea so far. If he passed an exhaustive medical and the desire was real and not looking for a pension maybe. He can be the trouble shooter that Brayshaw was, who was never quick but had positional awareness. Is an elite problem solver.

Actually think this is a good idea to quieten some of the chicken littles. I'm backing Oliver and Petracca to play at Melbourne next year, I'll even give odds if anyones wants to back against it. Reminds me of the Melks/May shenanigans, lots were fearing the worst, but clearly the club and players moved past it.

So heart broken by this. I first met ANB more than 10ish years ago and thought he was a fine young man, he's only got better. And for me he was one of the reasons I have never paid attention to the culture critics, because we do have good people at the club like him. While I believe this is not an example of the clubs' 'direction', he is certainly part of the fabric of the club that made it strong again. Easy to get another role player, not so easy to find a phenomenal standard setter. For me he was the new Daniel Cross and went on to surpass Crossy. I think we will feel this the way we felt the loss of Brayshaw.

Thank you, where have you been? Healthy debate, posting alternative opinions without being insulting to the coach and the team. Some stuff I agree with, some not, some ideas with a different perspective. Really some others could take a clue from your etiquette. BTW for those that reckon I or those like me are clueless fan people who love the coach no matter what, you are being insulting and you lack basic comprehension skills. I am always looking for evidence, in everything that has happened I see a coach that has tried stuff, some stuff works some doesnโ€™t. Obviously things arenโ€™t perfect and some things need to change, but on the evidence available I think Goodwin has the ability and the credits to drive that change and improvement. Ipso facto he is the man.
  18. I rate what you have to say from your little chats with the players, way more than any clown in the media. Thank you.

Just the title on the other thread makes me nauseous. Goodwin has delivered a period of sustained success. No real evidence of disharmony at the club. His career tracks alot like Luke Beveridge, sustained criticism from a 30/20 hindsight POV. No appreciation for the fine margins and luck involved by those calling for his head. Anyone would think he is Neeld 2.0 Has done an amazing job of blooding new talent. Has made the occasional blue with selection, and perhaps could have been more ruthless regenerating the side after '21., but hard not to support the list that delivered a flag. His method has been consistently good, if the team had executed better we would have played in the last two prelims. They don't hand out top 4 spots in a packet of corn flakes. And I'm sorry that 17 other clubs don't lay down and give up their generational talent. Be real, the Max replacement is never going to be satisfying, deal with it.

Mollie and Arnie 1,2, huge performance from both, so calm under pressure, would make good fwds for our AFLW team.

Only good thing about being in Somalia (apart from getting paid) is the time zone is very Olympics friendly. Loving the Womenโ€™s 7s thought the men were pretty special too, so ripped off with that French Ref, not a knock on and definitely a fwd pass by the boks. Hockey I feel like not being favorites suits us, we always cooked it when we were red hot faves.
