  1. I tend to agree as we have never had them much anyway.
  2. I tend to agree with you D26, for me the really sad part is I now have to consider Perdersen will be a regular this year. As for Clark that is in the lap of the gods and even they are struggling
  3. Pretty sure that is not true Biffen DF has a fairly wild imagination
  4. And then tells us he will be out for half the time they really expect. Mushroom theory! Am I cynical about clubs reporting injuries? Absolutely
  5. The really sad part sue is I am completely out at present. As to your other comment while our tall forwards area looks like a disaster zone it is probably similar to 2013 at present. This was not the reason for our disastrous 2012 and 3, the main reason was we had no mid field . We now have a reasonable one and I will stick with my prediction of 5 - 6 wins.
  6. Not sure I would agree with that, we may have one below our best options but I would still say it is as good as the Saints will put on the park.
  7. There is a reason for this Nasher. It is called history of the MFC. Quite often over most of the last decade the worst case scenario is the one that happens. Initially reports had Clarke out for a couple of months, then could play the last couple of games of 2013 but we will keep him out till 2014 ( safe approach ), March 2014 and still not in full training and doubt he will be before May. Dawes Had a poor 2013 with soft tissue injuries, held back pre Christmas so all good for start of the year. Then has calf tightness after Intra club game two weeks ago, no problem just giving him the week off. Today doubtful he will play before round 3 or 4. So while I think the "injuries to key forwards = all our key forwards out for the whole year = Frawley gone" scenario is a little over the top. The history of the MFC suggests it is not impossible.
  8. One game in five years can hardly be considered a wonderful tally Moonshadow. Puts his highlights reel right up there with Pedersen. I hope you are right because we have invested a lot in a guy who so far has a few good games beside his name. He has 2014 to prove that he is more than the "occasional Player" IMO
  9. Fear reverend After seven years of crap we are too scared to pop our heads out of the trenches. In July when we have five wins people will loosen up a bit.
  10. Your confidence is way better than mine tm. his last year at the Pies was less than wonderful. Then a woeful 2013 and now a poor start to 2014. There appears to be a trend with soft tissue injuries appearing here. I think if we get a dozen games this year we will be lucky.
  11. They all have the job in front of them. IMO they all need Good years to survive, the odd good game will not do it. The jury is out for me on all of them. However my bias says Probably only Evans is good enough with an outside chance for Blease. Bail and Nicholson are serious short of the required kicking skill level. Jetta is VFL standard and Strauss is a reasonable support when injuries mount.
  12. I would suggest tm that we all get used to the fact that we are more likely for the majority of this year to have a side with the second two rather than the first two. IMO if we accept that attitude we are likely to go through 2014 in a better frame of mind than expecting the severely unlikely option of Dawes and Clark.
  13. I swore I would stay off here but this is the potential flaw in your agreement You assume this thing was well run. Clearly it was not. However poor you might considered it " it is possible to do what they did and not keep records".
  14. Don,t disagree with you. I am very frustrated with the Dawes and Clark injury problems. Now I know they are not staying injured on purpose and I am confident that would both prefer to be playing on Saturday. However that does little to release the frustration I feel.
  15. Do you still beat your wife? Not falling for that one wyl. As I said I think there is zero to be gained by continuing a never ending discussion. Hopefully a result will be known before too many more months go past.
  16. Looking at that squad and considering who is out injured I believe with the exception of Garland and Gawn that is probably as good as we will be able put on the park in 2014. So The game against the Hawks will be a fairly good test of how far we have come since the end of 2013. If we can stay close to the reining premier on the weekend I will go into the season with confidence that most weeks I can go to a game and feel confident we have a chance of winning.
  17. Mandee I think those three letters cover it. We all have our opinion and none of us are liable to change that opinion shy of some finality in a report from ASADA. Clearly I don't agree with you but it is pointless us arguing back and forth at this point. I will now wait for the out come. I hope we get one before the end of 2014.
  18. hardtack I believe that the vast majority of the negatives that people raise if due to frustration. Particularly when as MFC supporters we have had exceedingly lean times for almost a decade. We recruit and pay big money for good players then see that player go down with a injury that seems to go on forever. We are desperate for just respectability and the sight of said players constantly on the sides lines produces frustration and then anger. That anger then turns to resentment of the player. Not fair but understandable.
  19. The surprising thing dc is the suggestion is you once did. Now I understand that could have been some time ago The info we are fed is mainly "telling them what the want to hear" with a modicum of the actual added. This is not peculiar to the MFC but the only one I care about. Net result I agree 100% zero faith.
  20. I suggest Mb's mum probably knows way more about it than me.But you lead with your chin I could not help myself.
  21. Chippy did you and C & B watch the same game?He assures me he was ok. Some how I think I will take your view.
