Seems two of our three wins so far have been against poor sides who are going to finish in the bottom six. We have got a little in front of ourselves and started believing that 4 kids are world beaaters when they are actually just good VFL players at this point. I am still confident of 10 wins this year but to suggest finals in 2016 is gilding the lily somewhat. We still half no CHF, no HB flankers and our CHB and FB are average AFL players.

After six rounds two things stand out to me. - how did we let Essendrug beat us - beating the Tigers now looks like no big deal they are destined for the bottom six.

I disagree they are both way better than four players we had running around yesterday. with the benefit of hindsight beating the Pies and Tigers now looks like no big event. we got sucked into thinking kids with a few games each are now better than Grimes and Garland clearly they are not. It is ok to play one or perhaps two at a time but four no way. At least one of them should be back in next week and IMO both.

Yes tu I was all for no change. And got the result very wrong. i got sucked into believing that a few kids were better than they are. I also think we got beaten at the selection table. The Saints looked a lot bigger,heavier and faster than our guys. one thing we learnt yesterday or at least I hope we learnt it. You cannot play two midgets in Kennedy and Garlett at the same time and particularly against a bigger side like the saints. We have this year got a lot of first use of the ball from Gawn but yesterday Tucker jumped all over him and they got a lot of first ball usage. Now everyone has a poor day but what annoyed was that Gawn did change his tactics. We all know that old saying about doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Why Gawn did not change or why he was not told to change is the second biggest mystery of 2016. The first biggest mystery is why we played large parts of the game with Nev on Roo and why we gave him 20 meters start to every contest. Having said all that we will still win 10 games and I still think we have a lot better list than last year.

Sounds like Roos and I are of the same opinion. In the games he has had at senior level he has look like the ones we need to replace from yesterday. VFL player IMO.

I am not saying we are a top team H_T I am saying we have improved our overall player ability substantially since the end of 2014. That will get us the lollies tomorrow.

We will win this not because we are on a roll or the Saints are not as good as us but because we now have players with better skills who are not mentally damaged.

I do too Nasher. If his form holds up I would not be surprised if he got another 1 year deal for 2107. The guys you list above are going to take a little time. I think 2018 is the time they should be ready to shoulder the load.

The death of the local bar is the basic problem Ernest. I have fond memories of the hours spent in them in a much simpler time. WE used to win premierships back then I can imagine us winning them again but alas the milk bar will not make a return.

While he did get any goals last week he could have had two and I thought he played ok while a bit further up the field. And as you say the opposition cannot leave him unattended because if they do he will kick a bag.

That is a good sign IMO. It is hard to shut down 8 people a game but easier to shut down one.

Still available at the little shop I buy shakes at locally however I have not had one for a few weeks. I will report back. On an equally serious note it is not easy to buy a milkshakes anywhere and do not ask for Malt they look at you as though you come from Mars.

I have similar feelings Ernest. The Drug / Gambling cheats have ruined big time sport for me. I no longer have any interest in the Olympics, Cycling, Tennis, Soccer or any of the American sports that don't belong to WADA.
