I am sure you will see things differently once the fog clears. -
Total Faith in the Neeld Way

I question whether the leadership decision was his or made In conjunction with the players. I suspect pressure from someone above with an axe to grind. -
Kevin Sheedy and his resentment towards the Demons
John Crow Batty replied to Ouch!'s topic in Melbourne Demons
True Bushie, but their coaching methods were more or less identical. If the main reason he got Scully was just to spite us then that would indicate that his judgement is astray and past it as a coach. Still he could not have done any worse. -
Kevin Sheedy and his resentment towards the Demons

Don't forget we had John Northey who was schooled in the same traditions as Sheedy. Without doubt he presided over the best period for this club since 64. -
The list - who goes at the end of the year?
John Crow Batty replied to Soidee's topic in Melbourne Demons
Been disappointed with Tappy this year. Looks slower and does not get the ball often enough. Former great disposal is now average and too loose. Still tries to be the big game hunter but is now the hunted. When he plays in between regular injuries he gets smacked around a lot. You reap what you sow. I expect more from him next season. Needs to get fitter, accountable, more resilient and should focus more on playing the ball and not the man. -

POLL: Who Needs To Go? ... The Fans Decide
John Crow Batty replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
To bad he wasn't sacked when he was supposed to. The curse of 186. -
I would say the typical Demonlander's lifecycle is in rhythm with putting out the rubbish bin out every Monday night and bringing it back in on Tuesdays. Happens every week.

Anyone notice the amazing improvement by North after their CEO resigned a couple of months ago. -
POLL: Who Needs To Go? ... The Fans Decide
John Crow Batty replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
Well I would love to see my opinions tested. I called on this forum early last season that we had an internal meltdown going on. I was on the money Scully was leaving even before his infamous presser. I warned posters that they were being duped by his management. I was first to identify Whiteboard Wednesday for the stupidity that it was. I copped a lot a flack for all this from those who only listen to what they want to hear. Interesting how discussion on this poisonous subject always gets deflected. But I dont care because I know my onions. -

I saw two St Kilda games in 2008 and they certainly did not look slow. Best if you stop pursuing old wives tales. -

St Kilda finished 4th in 2008 Just another excuse that looked at carefully does not make sense. Last season it was our players lack of experience in game time that was in vogue. -
POLL: Who Needs To Go? ... The Fans Decide

I would wait before having a serious cull. I am still of the opinion that if the board, CEO and certain other non FD people were to go, our on field performances will improve dramatically something akin to what has happened with Adelaide's reversal this season. -

I believe Neeld certainly needs more time but the general body language and energy from the players including players not destined for the chop with one or two exceptions is not good and has been consistently bad since the middle of 2010. He does not come across as a leader that can motivate or inspire. Restoration of confidence in particular after 186 should have been of primary importance to kickstart improvement this season. Rather confidence has gotten worse. This is a huge negative for him IMO even though he may not be entirely at fault. -
In one passage of play during the third quarter a North player received the ball about 60m out and ran forward a few steps to calmly slot a pass inside 50 for a mark and goal. Sylvia was only a couple metres away and just watched. Could have easily tackled or at least put pressure on the pass attempt.

He has been given the poison chalice. He replaced a scapegoat and likely will be the next. -
All this revisionist stuff is pathetic. 2 years ago it was universally touted by all and sundry including experts, commentators, supporters etc that we had the most promising young developing list in the comp. Something has gone seriously wrong. Can only be grossest incompetence of the lowest order of those we trust to run our club.

Watch the replay and I am sure you will withdraw your argument.

They beat us up by 9 goals but it is easy to guess who was the most [censored] off coach. Brad Scott for sure because he missed out on valuable percentage. Neeld would be somewhat relieved because they could have easily shellacked us by 80+. And don't be fooled by Sylvia the junk time specialist. No chasing, no pressure and very poor disposal all game. It seems to be impossible to imagine how much worse we can get but it is very possible. Imagine if Nathan Jones did not play.

The weight of the lefties influence at Hawthorn is much over hyped. Just about every player in their team can kick the ball with precision and penetration. Very few kicks missed the mark last night. This is also helped by their players fanatical hard work in making themselves available to accept delivery without fumbling. An exceptionally well drilled side. At the moment we are not worthy of being their toe jam.

Just could not quite fit in there. I was on the nose when I insisted that Range Rovers were better than Skodas. And that their falafels were overpriced and not as tasty as those found in Broadmeadows. That was the final straw that broke the camels back.
