Pot and us have been very flat the last few rounds. As Freo got done, Port have incentive to regain lost ground. And if the Cassisi factor pans out like it did with Hayes at St Kilda we may get smashed thoroughly. Will lightning strike twice at Adelaide Oval? I dont think so. All we have to play for is pride. An abstraction few of our players seem to understand.

It was Blease against St Kilda in round 20, 2012 during contract signing season. Kicked 5 straight. Done SFA before that game and SFA ever since. I hope he doesn't get the same chance again.

Saw Freo's last quarter against GWS last week. They were playing like the cliche millionaires. Starting to get lazy and asking for a big fall. They have had a long run of easy games with little opposition. A rude awakening for them. St Kilda came to play.

These media guys need the oxygen provided by rumours and talk to help keep them relevant in their media careers. I was always amazed how often Lyon was thrown up by fans to coach even a decade or more after he stopped playing with no coaching experience in between. Made no rational sense. If he went into real estate instead, the matter would have never have arisen.

And great media commentator. The fast track road to head coaching.

I am scratching my head as how Ling untried as a coach and schooled in the free wheeling Geelong approach can fit in with the Roos highly structured style of play. I thought the concept of a successor coach was to maintain continuity and build on the established style. I see chalk and cheese here.

Game not over, he has 40 possessions, 2 goals and FA 152.

Luke Tapscott, the forgotten man.

Nine possession game. -
Watching the third quarter replay. The camera crosses to Chris Scott in the coaches box. He is gazing away in the distance. Not even looking at the ground or saying anything. Looks so frigging bored.
-
I think after a promising start, the players have switched off. Can't handle the pace of a long tough season with little incentive remaining.
-
Frawley doesn't care because he's got a deal done long ago and just playing out time.
-
Smashed bad in the clearances again. Geelong just waltz it out of the centre all the time. Seriously need some midfielders who can get and use the ball.
-
Who is gong to score their first goal? Us or St Kilda?
-
This is starting to look like a demolition.

Shocking negativity for the last 5 minutes. Playing the clock down and trying to stop them scoring rather than making the play.

I tend to agree that Geelong supporters are not the most arrogant. A few of my family members are Geelong supporters and they never crow about 186. The reality is they just don't rate us to care because we are miles away from being a threat to them. And I cant remember the last time we beat them nor they. I do think we are a slim chance for an upset. The cats unusually for them have thrown the towel in a couple of times this season when the opposition came to play. I hope we come to play today.

So glad we are playing them at home rather than at Geelong. With this wild weather we would be lucky to score one goal and they may score 15-20 goals at exposed Skilled stadium. At home we do have a chance for an upset.

Luke Tapscott, the forgotten man.

Bit of an odd comparison between Jetta and Tapscott. Jetta is like a limpet and usually in the right place most of the time and actually plays the ball. Tapscott was always far too loose. Rarely manned up. Too often it looked like he wanted to hang off opponents so he could come in with a cheap shot at the last moment rather than attack the ball. -

Its been downhill ever since he did that severe hammy against St Kilda in 2011. Lost any semblance of pace and his powerful kicking disappeared. Was worth one final chance this season. Non appearance is telling. Top of the delist list. -
I seriously doubt we would get one, no matter how hard we try. After the help we got from the AFL and Roos coming we would be seen as ingrates who cant shed the begging bowl. I think the consesus is that we are now improving and should be able to stand on our own feet and move forward. And opposition from other clubs who are struggling will kill any chance.

I recal there were many at St Kilda that were not happy with Ross Lyon and wanted him out. They thought his game style was holding them back. The reality is they grossly over achieved with the list they had at the time thanks to him. How deluded they were.

Thinner posts would be hard to see from a distance and likely cause more confusion with narrow misses.

Though looks like a practical idea it will disort the continuity of historical scoring records of our game. Like what happened with cricket with the shorter boundaries making it easier to score sixes but cheapening the value of them. In MLB baseball they decided to keep wooden bats rather than go for aluminium because the aluminium bats could hit the ball about 20 metres further thus making a mockery of their historical records. All our team and individual scoring records will be up [censored] creek.

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
John Crow Batty replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
On the other hand if Monsieur Merde was a target rather than a protected species of the Murdoch press I bet they would have staked out every cafe and tanning salon in Paris with paparazzi to hunt him down.
