GOODBYE MR. CHIP FRAWLEY
John Crow Batty replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
It's a kind of relief that we are close to closure on this. I just hope there aren't more of his ilk floating around the club. -
Our steak knives are all blunt.

Ok, time to clear him from the mast head. Goodbye and good luck. -
Good, I hope we get Merret. Someone that can dish it out. Our players only take it like poussies. Plus we need someone to close check on Clark and Frawley next season. I wouldn't trust the job to one of their mates.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HERITIER LUMUMBA
John Crow Batty replied to Moonshadow's topic in Melbourne Demons
Given the general quality of our first and second round draft picks over the past 10 years we are not paying overs for anyone that have proven they can actually play. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HERITIER LUMUMBA

Yes, if we dont trade the 2nd round pick means we have to draft a kid that may show nothing for a few years. We desperately need experienced and reliable players ATM. -

Phew! I was worried it may have been the live boy or dead girl in the motel room scenario. -
Luke Hodge and the super draft 2001 (not for us sadly)

The mindd boggles if we by chance drafted Hird. Mixed feelings. -

You can add Carrazzo, Sandilands, Rutten, Bock, Waite, Montagna, Lynch, LRT, Podsiadly etc and a dozen or so other solid players . -
I hope this is sorted out quick either way. My willy can't take much more.

So they better control of the spin and bull? -
I'll take a ready made A grade midfielder. Has 5 to 8 years left in him. Perfect for completing the tetralogy of mids. Danger and Jones for experience and leadership. Viney and Tyson for youth and dash.

GOODBYE MR. CHIP FRAWLEY
John Crow Batty replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
With all the shifty business going on in this game, there is always the posibilty of a players manager leaking something like this to push up a players currency with other very interested suitors. The paparazzi could be a manager. Managers are usually present to talk dollars, tenure and other perks are they not? -
Overrated players we must not entertain during trade week

I think it is worth it. We desperately need a big name to come to us. And a midfielder to boot.

Would be a miracle if Roos could pull this trade off. A monumental confidence booster if so.

I find amusing the comment on the radio this morning by Dangerfields manager Paul Conners that goes something like "I haven't spoken to him in 2 weeks but I think he would like to stay at Adelaide". Something big is cooking.

Hey I was only making an observation on the weather and the effect it could have had. That wind was ferocious. The Hawks are undefeated when they have kicked over a 100 points this season and lost all games when they kicked under a 100 points. The Swans were intimidated because they could not stop the Hawks uncontested possesion game and they could not do it earlier in the season also. Key indicators like clearances, stoppages, contested ball were about even. The Swans won the contested marks easily 21 to 6 despite losing the total marks by a huge margin.. The Hawks won the tackles well and had an incredible 130 plus more uncontested possessions. The AFL stats shows over the game the Hawks had 14 more tackles. The point I make is that it would have been difficult if the weather gods delivered howling winds a day early to maintain an unstoppable possesion game. A scrappy unstructured game would have suited the Swans better and they could have restricted the Hawks free scoring. They play the keepings off game better than anyone else, shatter the oppositions confidence and make them look inept.

If the GF was played today we could have had a different result. The strong gusty winds would have played havoc with the Hawks cute kicking game. Would have degenerated into a scrap which may have suited the Swans better.

GOODBYE MR. CHIP FRAWLEY

We are the football equivilent of the classic disfunctional public service department. Highly paid, low morale with little productivity and accountability. As a team the bar is set to the level of the least competant player. 40% bludge, 40% cruise, 20% work. Ask for a volunteer and everyone looks at everyone else. A mistake is made and everyone blames everyone else. A pay error has occured and everyone wakes up from their coma. -
Grand Final Sprint - Last chance for glory in 2014
John Crow Batty replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Just shows how faarked up we are when the grand final sprint gets 40+ posts. -
True, but their players are always getting free and under little pressure to receive the ball. There were many instances today of miss kicks and half volley passes making good because the players had time to recover and while they did that support was always arriving to help mop up.

Time and time again Hawk players get 5-10 metres in front of their oponents for the easy mark. Been doing it for years. Our players always have oponents clinging to them like limpets. Wish we could work as hard as they do.
