Two ex judges and a barrister get paid also.

Yep, it has been my suspicion for a long time the decision has been engineered for a soft landing from the beginning. The suggestion the AFL tribunal is even remotely independant is laughable. The AFL have demonstrated contempt for meaniingful drug control and for WADA/ASADA. This will continue to happen. A lot more spanners and sand left to jam up the wheels of justice.

Having people like on here talking about the having Essendon players on the show is what the media want. Getting some sort of outrage is part of the game. Style is more important than substance for them. Negativity, entertainment and controversy is better for ratings than rational talk. Edited by america de cali, Today, 01:40 PM.

Who did they play for?

Having an Essendon player on is topical and gets interest and reactions from viewers.

Ostrichcism has gripped Bomberland. The only Essendon supporter that I have had the chance to discuss the issue with in depth wants Hird gone and is sick of the entire business and propaganda. He must be a minority.

The answer in one word is, "expediency".

Agree with most of that. The AFL as a stand alone sport in a world backwater and never in international competition with associated standards, expectations and scrutiny thought they could do what they want and make a mockery of the PED issue. It was always nudge nudge, wink wink and don't do something stupid and get caught out. Now they have created a monster that's hard to kill.

What caused him to have those soft tissue injuries I wonder?

This is just another sad example of our modern throw away world and associated commercial realities. I know a guy who's a storeman at Woolworths main warehouse. He tells me they throw away thousands of dollars worth of perfect goods every day. Even if a cardboard box is partially damaged or torn it goes into the skip no matter what's in it. Of course we as consumers pay the premium to compensate.

Should did a little deeper. There might be some blazers under there.

Messers Gawn, Spencer and Jamar.

Thanks for the correction. Irks me when we have two towering headless chooks and a hibernating bear.

And Stefan Martin dominated again in the ruck for the Lions against the Swans.

I missed the game and frankly shocked when I found out the result. Can't believe these jokers get paid 100% salary cap. Makes drug cheating sides and players that gamble to throw games look relatively honest. At least they have some goals to aspire to. My only consolation is that no premiership points were at stake.

One of my staff is a genuine observant Rasta mon. Hasn't had a haircut for over 25 years and his dreadlocks are down past his arse. Doesn't drink, smoke cigarettes or takes other drugs. He smokes choof for religious observance only. So if by chance HL was dabling in the religion and gets into strife for smoking choof he can claim religious discrimination. Real Rastas despite their freaked out appearance are socially quite conservative. They believe gays are a Babylonian abomination for one thing.

Of course Harry would never inhale.

Wish some Hawthorn players bet to lose next meeting with us.

As long as clubs like GWS, Sydney, Brisbane and GC continue to depend on AFL money to continue, things will go along as they are. Clubs like us, North, Bulldogs and Saints still provide a significant percentage of the the bread and butter that sustains the comp. Lack of success has certainly drained them but there is a lot of core and latent support that is not transferable. The AFL cannot live off the cream alone from Collingwood, Essendon Etc. Expansion clubs north of the Murray continue to drain the competitions capital.

Ryan Crowley - banned substance
John Crow Batty replied to The Devil Inside's topic in Melbourne Demons
Must have been cross contamination from the last time he played against Essendon. He should wear rubber gloves if he intends to cling so close to his opposition. -
Let's get Dank back to the club.

Mitch Clark's 6 goals - how ... 'depressing'.
John Crow Batty replied to bush demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
I am sure Clark's position at the club was untenable for whatever reason before he retired. Most likely the powers at the club fully expected that he was going to end up playing somewhere else. Overall pragmatism won out out and we managed to get a decent replacement for him in the end.
