Like consistency beating rubbish sides? Waiting, waiting waiting.

Just highlights our impotency.

Carlton could win 3 in a row here. Another slap in the face for us.

It's a coin flip to which Demons will turn up today. But playing a side that lost by 20 goals last week reads ominous in the tea leaves.

Wanted: Long sleeve guernsey
John Crow Batty replied to Red and Blue Flame's topic in Melbourne Demons
Supporters need extra long sleeve guernseys so that they can be tied around the back and front ala straight jacket style. To be worn at games when we are favourites to win and tied up after the inevitable loss. -
Fantastic discount. My wife who is a fitness fanatic has kitted herself out with a new exercise wardrobe with this deal. Many thanks to New Balance and MFC.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 7
John Crow Batty replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Reported that Salem and Brayshaw won't be playing due to concussion issues. -
Apparently he failed/refused to present the transcripts of the questions/answers he felt forced to answer at the joint ASADA/AFL investigation. Being forced the indignity to answer those questions was a central part of his argument that he was defending himself and thus covered by the insurance. There must have been some hot stuff and bus tire marks there that he felt could not enter the public domain.

He can always divorce his lawyer.
-
Or else leash him to a hound tuned in to the smell of his opponents socks?

Hird has now become the international invisible man of mystery. Keeping a low profile. Perhaps can't get the fee he wants for another exclusive interview or saving his words for the tell all book.

If not moving well, then the logical movie is to shift him up forward and move Frost back. Crime to play an injured defender when he can't run with someone like Riewoldt. If Lord's info has any currency then the coaches may have not believed he was injured.
-
He may not have nous for legal matters but I wonder who's arm he going to twist to pay his costs? Shown to be good at getting others to pay for his mistakes.

Hogan did not much in two very good wins and was awesome in a pathetic team game. So he is not a problem or a saviour ATM. We should be ruthlessly trying to clean up our peer group of clubs and pushing the big boys as an indicator of real improvement. The way we are going we can win eventually 10 or 12 in 2017 on the back of 8 to 10 this season but if we continue to pick and chose our efforts the next big step after could be a big fall. I can picture all the premature high fives and back slaps celebrating our future success happening if we reach that stage. At the very best we might grind our way to a GF eventually in the next 2 or 3 seasons and it's a 50/50 we lose by a dozen goals like 1988 and 2000. Then fall in a heap again. Efforts like against Essendon and Saints are just not acceptable.

Progress mean taking opportunities. We have lost two already. Good teams don't progress in a linear fashion. They just arrive because they took their opportunities.

I think it is a good thing for fans to maintain some reasonable rage. We want to improve and it must be clear to the club we won't accept chronic mediocrity. This game was mostly lost again in the head of the players and coaches. The game was yet another ripe opportunity missed. "A Call for Calm" is also one of the most pathetic responses for a situation that causes anger. Hearing it is enough to make me angrier if I have a beef. Most often trotted out by politicians in response to outrages caused by their rotten policies. Doesn't address or offer a solution to the problem at all. Just a tactic to get people to bury their heads in the sand again.

Hogan: Goal kicking putana.

Players who always fire a shot against Melbourne
John Crow Batty replied to Soidee's topic in Melbourne Demons
Membery and Akers. Out scored Hogan by 1 point. Oh wait! Combined they have played one more game than Hogan. What a farking waste of the best goal kicking performance by a Dee in a decade. -
WC are preparing Buckley's termination papers.

I really question how long the fast paced game we are seeing this year will last, Not just for us but for most other sides as well. Attrition is bound to set in and I doubt any team could play this way all season. We have shown if we are off our game we are anyone's [censored] and we can expect other sides to be off their game too. I predict more smarter defensive tactics will start to dominate once finals are near. We certainly need to find a better balance between attack and defence if we are going to finish the season on a high.

I still hope we can get Hurley.

It's an affront to talk about other teams delusions after what we served up today.
-
That should be the players own delusion.
-
After Essendon I said I would be happy if we were 3 and 3 after 6 rounds. Fluck happiness.
