Welcome to Demonland: Bayley Fritsch
Brad Green kicked 55 goals in 2008, and Tmac 53 goals in 2018 were the last two players to kick over 50 goals in season aside from Fritsch. As you say, not hard to replace.

2024, The season that was, nearly was and then wasn't at all.
It does feel like we have been slowly salami sliced into irrelevance since 2021. Biggest worry is that we haven’t recruited anyone of note since then. Too many vanilla B graders. Windsor looks OK but he won’t fix out midfield problems. JVR is no Luke Jackson. We need a dedicated key forward and not a jack of all trades but master of none.

Yeah, it’s just running the clock down till the season ends. No one is showing their cards yet.

I have been thinking about that. If Petracca really wants a 100% out, what legal options could he explore to void his contract if no deal is possible? Medical negligence and lack of duty of care by the club to his health needs could be argued in a law suit. Despite his insistence on returning to the field, it is ultimately the club doctor and by extension the club who bear responsibility. But he would have to prove that the injury was made worse by the club allowing him to return to the field and that the severity of his injury could have been foreseen. Not surprising if Petracca, the Blues and Pies have already explored this option.

How Many Weeks For Kozzy?
If he does get suspended the club should appeal.

NON-MFC: Round 24
I can never get my head around how we lost to WC. The most [censored] up game I ever witnessed.

Whats the case if Trac decides to officially retire but a year later changes his mind? Can he return to the game for another club?

Christian Petracca
Will the rules allow Petracca do a Cam McCarthy and walk out of his contract, sit out next season then go to next seasons draft or be picked up by another club by other means?

Christian Petracca
Yeah a couple of decades ago I had a sudden medical emergency with no warning that nearly killed me and certainly left me in a tough time mentally. But it convinced me to finally leave a job I hated because I ended up suffering with two internal demons. Later things slowly got better in a new work environment.

Everyone of standing at the club tells us Trac will be at the club next season except the man himself who has said nothing. I get the feeling everyone is in some sort of holding pattern until the season is over for us and then the story will develop with new twists during the finals and beyond.

Since he is of Italian heritage it will have to be a cornamusa

Greg Stafford departs Melbourne
Greg Stafford did have some forward line ability. He did kick 141 goals in 205 games.

Kate Roffey
And money and time as well. Huge waste of resources and a distraction from the clubs mission in having to fight these egotistical legal challenges.

Darren Bennett. “Great Stuff at Windy Hill”
I remember his last season with us. He was mostly injured. His booming kicking disappeared. Then he had his amazing career change. I met him a couple of times when he played with us. I used to work with his girlfriend at the time. I believe she became his wife.

Dan Houston
Grading Houston’s bump as careless instead of deliberate gives him the opportunity to challenge the verdict and potentially a get out of gaol card or a mechanism to lower the just penalty. Sometimes I wonder if imprecise wordings and structuring of charges are inserted deliberately so that they can be challenged later. I still believes the Cripps saga was set up to get him off.

Greg Stafford departs Melbourne
Has premiership assistant coach on his resume. Came to us when we were a basket case. Best wishes.

You forgot about the closeness to the Yarraville Trugo Club.

Of course the hospital and doctor had no idea until tests were done. A ruptured spleen does not stick out for everyone to see. And suspecting broken ribs is enough to have player sent to hospital immediately as well. The level of pain that Trac exhibited should have been of enough concern to send him for further investigation. Signs and symptoms of serious injury should always override what an injured players may want. Doctors need more power to override players and coaches wishes in these situations.

I believe the doctor should have made a judgement call even without a diagnosis. His thinking should be there’s something not right here. This needs to be investigated and he goes to hospital now. Then again I don’t know how much influence or say a football club doctor has in the heat of the moment during a hot game. He would have to battle big egos in the change rooms.

It’s actually Chin apologising for mistakingly selling Trac parsley instead of coriander. Easy mistake to make.

Weddle is the full package. One of the best breakout out seasons I have seen for a long time. Will be hard to extract him from the Hawks.

Christian Petracca
I find it hard to believe teammates would be upset with Petracca spending a month at Noosa recovering from a life threatening injury as well as knowing that he won’t be able to train properly for months or play till next season. It just doesn’t make sense. I smell bull.

Christian Petracca
What has happened to him? Was one of their best and most reliable players the last couple of seasons but now a sad shadow of his former self. Irritable Scott Syndrome perhaps? I’d take punt on him with a second rounder.
